he was what we all wanted too see .Look at the heavy weight division now we are all waiting for another Tyson too come along ,maybe ,maybe never .He is a legend and will be talked about for a long time .
Boy... he sure is a fascinating individual. I admin I lost much respect for him after the Holyfield incident but like many in the audience it seems they now pity him more than anything and he's had to make the rounds of the talk shows and movies and open himself up completely in order to try to redeem himself. It's sad but I respect him for that.
Anybody notice how Tyson's best and most TRUE friends were all white guys as he was coming up from a kid to amateur to pro? Don King and his band of black criminal friends came in and ruined his life.
Yet Tyson still thinks he needs to put blame on the white folks. So who the f*ck were the ones who paid to see him fight and ordered his ppvs? It was mostly white folk. Tyson don't wanna hear it though. He still thinks white people are after his blood. LOL!
@HenryTheJoker Not true most of his Black friends have been killed. Black people went to his fights in Vegas. They didn't just buy the PPV. You are incorrect about Blacks not supporting him and watching his fights as much as white people did. Now I know you are thinking but white folks got enough money to afford his ppv fights well, 45-50 bucks aint much...Blacks got that...no biggie...he blames himself...Mike Tyson blames Mike Tyson...
@gnsky77 True but why is he so protective of black folk? Why not ever admit that black folk are just as responsible for his troubles? Last I saw, Tyson gave up to 70% of his purse to Don King, Rory Holloway and John Horne. Rory and Horne took 10% each of Tyson's purse, post-prison. And Don King screwed him out of millions. Then mix in Tyson's outrageous spending habits and you got a recipe for disaster. Tyson ain't a racist but he lashes out without thought.
@MrSpartan92 that's the very reason he was a great boxer... he has so much emotion but i've noticed that he can't even cry sometimes... that creates a lot of pressure in him, which he has to spend punching the bag

When Tyson opens his mouth, he demands attention. I find there's few people whose journey I respect more than his. In my opinion, an arguably overrated boxer, but a completely underrated human being.
@bluewhale18 Well, no, not really. He was once considered the best in the world, so by definition, it's not possible to underrate him as a boxer. As for you saying he's overrated as a human being, that's also flawed. Few people, given such power at a young age, are able to exercise such humility upon reflection.
@jayrock1987 Yeah, again, I don't really think you actually understand what the term "arguably" means, or when it's connected to "overrated". It means that the ARGUMENT ie the OPINION of some is that he is overrated, since he fought during an era which was widely accepted as one of the weakest of the century. Stop pretending you know what you're talking about, you were barely out of nappies when he was in his prime.
@ramtinking LOL, and I know what you know as well, which is nothing. For sure, if you knew a thing about boxing in the past eras, you'd know that Tyson's legitimacy as one of the best boxers is marred by the fact that he was the best during an undeniably stagnant era. NOBODY with an ounce of knowledge about the sport fails to accept that fact. You notice I used the word "arguably". Doesn't mean I believe it, it means I accept that one could argue the point. You literally know nothing.
@leave12 sure... what ever you say pal... you seem to know everything... and i seem to know nothing... i think i'm going to jump off of a bridge now...
@ramtinking I don't know everything, I just know that Tyson is arguably overrated, ARGUABLY, and I also know that you know nothing. Don't sweat it though, I have educated you here today, as will others. That education will eventually accumulate into knowledge, and then you can share it with others as I have done with you. Then you'll know what it's like to be awesome. Awesome like me.
@leave12 well i have no intentions of arguing with you, for the pure fact that A tyson is my role model, B tyson was the reason i became a boxer, C i'm going pro in a few months, D I don't think there is anyone who has studied Tyson more than i have, and finaly before the douglas fight he was 39-0 in the heavy weight devision... that speaks for itself but don't get the idea of me trying to argue with you because i just simply don't care... i like TYSON and CUS D'AMATO... nothing can change that.
@leave12 damato built his confidence and his defence.. when he went, died. It took evertyhting from ali,his repect for defence boxers and him self,, but now he can only try to recover to get respect, but not as a boxer
@leave12 overated boxer? is that why he is the youngest undisputed heavyweight champion? the first 3-time world champion? record for fastest ko? olympic gold medalist? the only boxer to be compared to Muhammad Ali? once known as 'the baddest man on the planet'? known for the best defense in boxing? i could go on all day.. tyson has lived a rough life, and like all of us, he has made mistakes. he gets emotional for the ones he loves and speaks the truth whenever he speaks. he wants no attention.
@socastar90 Completely agree with you . Mike Tyson was a phenomenally gifted boxer with a killer punch from either hand . Incredible defensive skills in his hay-day, and fast as hell . So exciting to watch and for many he is the best ever heavy-weight .
@socastar90 he has no olympic gold medal, and Ali was the first 3-time champion (Tyson is "just" 2-time champion anyway)...BUT one of the the greatest, and my fav boxer!
tyson is not the first 3 time world champion, does not hold the record for fastest ko, did not have the best defense in boxing, and is certainly not the only fighter to be compared to ali.
@leave12 I agree with you I think he was never as good as people made him out to be but he was much more intelligent, tender and sophisticated than people WANTED him to be ;( Sad.
@davidmgm Do you see where I said ARGUABLY? What's with you fucking morons, can Tyson fans not read? You think I'm the only person in the world to say this? It's an opinion held by at least 50% of pundits.
@davidmgm That is the word. The reality, though, is that you're a pretend boxing fan who knows nothing about the great boxers. Or, you just happen to know more than every boxing legend or expert who've ever said he's arguably overrated. Funny, because you were born in Tyson's era, like me, yet you clearly know absolutely nothing about the calibre of his opponents. You arent built for this discussion.
@davidmgm Yeah, it's called "objectivity". Do you have any understanding of the era he fought in? Name me these giants that he slayed.. Name ONE great boxer he beat? Beaten by Douglas at 24 in his PRIME, KO'd by Holyfield at 30, beaten by Lewis when Lewis was older.
I could go on, but the facts are that you know fucking nothing about boxing, so stop pretending you do. If you did, you'd have an argument other than simply telling me I'm wrong. Tyson fans never know a thing about boxing. Morons.
@samuk9 LOL at all of your recent comments consisting of you whining about boxing like a little faggot. Learn English, you illiterate fucking spastic child.
23 years old lol, not even old enough to have seen any of the decent boxing era's. Born during the weakest, lowest point in the sport for over 100 years.
@leave12 loooool thats the best u can do GRANDPA?? . :D u r fuckin pathetic !! ... talkin shit about mike tyson... like a little cock sucking dumpass whore like ur mom!... go fuck urself old fella its the only thing that makes u feel alive again! lol what u dont like my English?? i hope u do now! .. fuckin pussy.
@leave12 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... I HAVE NEVER SEEN THAT NUMBER OF DISLIKES ON A CHANEL !!.. DUDE HONESTLY , DO U READ THE COMMENTS ON UR VIDEOS??!... DO U SEE THE DISLIKES?? ! .. AND U STILL DONT WANNA DELETE THEM??!... LOL .. THATS FUCKIN WEIRD !!... FUCKIN LOSER.
@samuk9 LOL no, I'd never delete them, I love watching kids get emotional. Kind of like how you're getting now. It's funny watching the weak-minded flail.LOL at being a 23 year old boxing fan in its shittest era in 100 years. Poor you, too young to experience when it was great.
@leave12 man u r talking like u have been living for centuries ! lol how old r u 90 or something??! .. wake up old dude... u r not that ancient! and am glade u did ur home work ! now u know how old i am! lol. good! .. beat it.!
and as i said before.. u dont know shit about the sport.. so stop acting like u know.. u r embarrassing urself thats all mr skinny legs lol
If you knew something about boxing, you'd have made a point rather than just telling me I know nothing. That's what people do when they have knowledge of a subject--they're able to use that knowledge to raise points and prove when someone else knows less. It's how knowledge works lol.
LOL @ a kid talking about boxing knowledge as if it's a difficult subject. This isn't physics kid, it's a sport even dumbasses can understand.
@leave12 lol! go fuck urself old dude... if u know anything about boxing u wont be talking shit about mike tyson! .. he was one of the best fighters ever !.. what have u achieved in ur dumbass life so far rather than talkin shit about people better than you??... this shit stops here.. old scum bag.
@samuk9 Yeah, talking shit about Mike Tyson, read the first post I made, dumbass, it's at the top and it's got 8 thumbs up. Tyson's a fucking legend, and he's one of my favourite boxers of all time, but only a deluded moron who knows nothing about the previous boxing eras would EVER deny that his title of "the greatest" is questionable.
DURRRR. Now reply again with more stupidity, and admit you're just too insecure to walk away lol
@leave12 lol ! i know more about boxing than the stupid ignorant dumbass shitbbag that u r !.. u r just too stupid that u think that u know something that other people dont know!.. here is a news for you .. U DONT! .. fuckin mouthy scumbag .. go fuck urself old ass lol
@leave12 "the greatest"??!... who said he is the greatest ?!... man r u high or smtn?! ... ALI is the greatest u fag.. know what and who u r talkin about.
@samuk9 It's probably not right, since "the greatest" is what's known commonly as "subjective", which is the point you seem to have missed from the beginning, on account of you being a dumbass child who likes to pretend he knows a thing about boxing.
Basically, this is a circular argument that your child-ego cannot comprehend, which is why you keep replying without actually stating any kind of case to refute anything I've said.
@leave12 hahahahahaha! man u r so fuckin funyy for a poophead who thinks he know something about anything!... really man u r a hopeless case! .. whats wrong with u did ur dad used to fuck u when u were little or what??!.. really come on man.. u think u r a grand dad cuz u r 28?? ..R U SERIOUS?!... LOL! .. i havent seen such a shit head like u in my entire life! really!... plz do urself a favor and see some of the comments on ur video " DEREK ANTHONY INSANE BOXING SKILLS " LOL!
@samuk9 Oh dear, I think you might be too blinded by your own studpity to realise that the video is MAKING FUN OF HIM. The captions and annotations kind of give it away. That and the fact that he's a rioded out freak with stick legs and absolutely no boxing ability.
DOH!
Seriously, stop trying so hard, you look like a bit of a retard now. You've carried on a Youtube argument for over 2 weeks. Think about that.
@leave12 loooool its funny that YOU are talkin about roids mr chemo.. u r loaded with ton of em FACE IT!. lol and now u r saying that u r not "HIM".. AGAIN...this shit stops here dick head.. and by the way , i didnt carry on a youtube argument with myslef U HAVE BEEN THE MAIN EVENT FOR THAT! u played ur stupid part.. face it as well!.. fuckin retard. now YOU think about that! lol comment again :)
@SwamiBastard Oh look, another illiterate cretin who doesn't understand the word "arguably". DURRRRR. Go to school, you fucking useless retard, your opinion on anything means jack shit, kid.
@martinhellfire85 Some people do, some people don't. I personally felt he was the best boxer in that particular era, but I think that particular era was one of the weaker eras of that century.
@tdevil101 LOL another Youtube idiot who doesn't understand the word "arguably". I'm not the only person to have said it, try Googling it, or better yet, get some actual boxing knowledge, because only someone with zero true understanding of this great sport would think there wasn't an argument to say Tyson was overrated.
I DON'T THINK HE THINKS HE HAS TO APOLOGIZE. I think he through accountability and honesty You began to free yourself he is a father now and a older man., AND REAL MAN CAN NEVER BE TOO HONEST. MAYBE HUMANS LIE SO MUCH, WE HAVE TRAINED OUR MINDS NOT TO RESPECT TRUTH..OR WANT IT IN BABY AMOUNTS ONLY!
I think Tyson is a good hearted man and all the outbursts in the past have come from all the pressure he´s been under from a young age. I´m 34 years old and still would´nt like to deal with all that even at a grown age as mine - imagine it at 20!!!. I hope the best for Mike Tyson. He should recieve nothing but respect and admiration whereever he goes.
The problem with Tyson is that he's too honest and he confesses to much. For some reason he's managed to think that he owes everybody an apology. Mike owes nobody no apology. Mike is just unnecessarily too honest. Just because you're a Black man in a White man's world(America) it don't mean that you have to overly apologize or say sorry more than you need to.Mike you're the greatest fighter thus far.

I understand that you like Ali and I like him too. As you consider that Ali was 32 when he fought GF you can not say that he is old and washed up, he may not have been as sharpe, but that is on Ali for not training to be sharp. Actually, 32 puts him at the tail end of his physical prime. The bottom line is Ali did not want any parts of GF in a rematch, and I can't say I blame him.
He had said he went out partying with Jay Bright after the Berbick fight, I believe... But how was that possible if Kevin Rooney was his trainer at the time? Jay didn't come into his camp til '89...
his been through it all... his an older wise man now, his crazy youth years are over... people did fuck him over, which is why he was so angry all the time i guess
Tyson is smarter than all of you morons in the media that thinks he's insane. I understand and always have understood why Mike acts the way he does. I don't blame. 1. Because he's a fighter, so he has to train his mind to think like a savage
2. The media attempt to tear Mike down. Back the F*** up is all Mike is saying. Leave this guy alone. You stripped him like he said, now get away from. Let this guy be. The media tries to strip you like buzzard on bloody meat in the dessert
u can tell when he talks bout cus d amato, MIKE always break down!!!...he sure miss dat GREAT MAN..smdh!!!,,,IRON MIKE RULES, nobaddy can BLAST like him!
I've always liked Tyson. I never watched boxing unless it was a Tyson fight. He's a truly great human being in my opinion. He's been messed up at times, but he doesn't hide it. He's exceptionally honest and caring. He's not smart, but he's very wise. One of a kind.
@veeseee128 i agree that ali would have beaten mike the majority of time throughout their careers, but at their very peak, i believe ali would have been intimidated by mike and that means that ali may not have been able to get the best out of himself if he was afraid. mike is a lot faster, stronger, skillfull than frazier, i do not believe that tyson heart is as big as joe's, but i don't know if any other fighter except george foreman would be able to expose it when tyson was at his best.
@MrScottydabody You make some interesting points. But in his prime Ali was never intimidated by ANY man. If Sonny Liston didn't intimidate him, Mike Tyson wouldn't have. Ali NEVER showed any signs of being intimidated until the Holmes fight. He put on a lot of pomp before the bell rung, but you could see it in his eyes when Holmes got in the ring. Every fighter has fear. Prime against prime Ali had no equal. Frazier never faced a prime Ali.
@bandit7498 i almost agree with you, and would invite you to consider that everyone is or can be made fearful through hype. Ali as great as he was, nevertheless, displayed fear in the early rounds with Foreman, notice how he reacted when George swung at him in the first round, the issue is not FEAR itself, but OVERCOMING fear. Mike Tyson had an awesome marketing machine behind him in the 1980s and in most cases he defeated his opponent before the bell ever rang. Hype can do that!
@MrScottydabody I never said Ali didn't feel fear. He readily admitted n several occasions that he was scared to death of Sonny Liston. I said he wasn't INTIMIDATED. There is a difference. But I gotta say I didn't see that fear you're talking about against Foreman. Concern maybe but not fear. So consider that Ali faced two of the most feared heavyweights in boxing history and not only was he able to beat them convincingly, he broke their spirits through and through. My guess, same with Tyson.
@bandit7498 i agree with you that fear and intimidation don't necessarily have to mean the same thing. I don't know if you are totally aware yet that Ali broke Foreman's spirit more so by not rematching him than upsetting him in Zaire. It is not necessary to consider that George was only 24 or 25 when he suddenly lost to Ali and this means that he was standing at the edge of his prime, but not yet so. Yes, wehave never witnessd GF in his absolute prime.
@MrScottydabody Fact: Ali wasn't in his prime either when he fought Foreman. Also fact, Ali was forced into retirement as he was just entering his prime. So it's safe to say we never saw the best of Ali either. Dundee himself said we never saw the best of Ali. A heavyweight's prime is usually between 27 and 32 years of age. So who knows. As far as the rematch goes, Foreman was scheduled for a rematch and then he lost to Young. Ali never said no to a rematch. Foreman quit after the Young fight.
u know.... other interviews.... he WAS from the beginning a really honest caring human being... tragic how he had to endure life during those times... god bless him.thumbs up.!
@luka03121992 His voice often breaks when he gets emotional and talks deeply. It's when he's struggling to control his emotions and you will see it alot when he talks about Cus D'amato.
You should watch the Tyson documentary it's amazing.
i've never seen a more unique person than Tyson. All of his success comes from a shitload of hardwork. Boxing...everyday. Every bit of fame he gets is earned. People act like they've forgotten about him. Like he's nothing special. He had THE style. Now he's just letting his name fade away.
tyson is the king.in his prime no one could beat him except maybe ali.but the ferociousness he had no other fighter in the world ever had.he was in that ring not to win but to tare the opponent apart.punch by punch he completely destroyed those people.

@327372 I never said he wasn't a legend, I said "arguably overrated".
leave12 10 months ago
@leave12 OVERRATED lol nope i know what overrated is and mike is not in a overrated class, when people think of boxing they think of mike period...
jayrock1987 10 months ago
@jayrock1987 Yeah, again, I don't really think you actually understand what the term "arguably" means, or when it's connected to "overrated". It means that the ARGUMENT ie the OPINION of some is that he is overrated, since he fought during an era which was widely accepted as one of the weakest of the century. Stop pretending you know what you're talking about, you were barely out of nappies when he was in his prime.
leave12 10 months ago

@leave12 sure... i don't need to prove myself to some goof over the internet... i know what i know...
ramtinking 9 months ago
@ramtinking LOL, and I know what you know as well, which is nothing. For sure, if you knew a thing about boxing in the past eras, you'd know that Tyson's legitimacy as one of the best boxers is marred by the fact that he was the best during an undeniably stagnant era. NOBODY with an ounce of knowledge about the sport fails to accept that fact. You notice I used the word "arguably". Doesn't mean I believe it, it means I accept that one could argue the point. You literally know nothing.
leave12 9 months ago
@leave12 sure... what ever you say pal... you seem to know everything... and i seem to know nothing... i think i'm going to jump off of a bridge now...
ramtinking 9 months ago
@ramtinking I don't know everything, I just know that Tyson is arguably overrated, ARGUABLY, and I also know that you know nothing. Don't sweat it though, I have educated you here today, as will others. That education will eventually accumulate into knowledge, and then you can share it with others as I have done with you. Then you'll know what it's like to be awesome. Awesome like me.
leave12 9 months ago
@leave12 well i have no intentions of arguing with you, for the pure fact that A tyson is my role model, B tyson was the reason i became a boxer, C i'm going pro in a few months, D I don't think there is anyone who has studied Tyson more than i have, and finaly before the douglas fight he was 39-0 in the heavy weight devision... that speaks for itself but don't get the idea of me trying to argue with you because i just simply don't care... i like TYSON and CUS D'AMATO... nothing can change that.
ramtinking 9 months ago
@leave12 damato built his confidence and his defence.. when he went, died. It took evertyhting from ali,his repect for defence boxers and him self,, but now he can only try to recover to get respect, but not as a boxer
aldino899 9 months ago
@leave12 Well said, such a good comment. The one thing I would disagree on, is the comment about him being overrated as a boxer.
AnglOsAxOn2 9 months ago
@leave12 overated boxer? is that why he is the youngest undisputed heavyweight champion? the first 3-time world champion? record for fastest ko? olympic gold medalist? the only boxer to be compared to Muhammad Ali? once known as 'the baddest man on the planet'? known for the best defense in boxing? i could go on all day.. tyson has lived a rough life, and like all of us, he has made mistakes. he gets emotional for the ones he loves and speaks the truth whenever he speaks. he wants no attention.
socastar90 9 months ago 33
@socastar90 Way to complete misread a comment like a true moron. Good on you dude.
leave12 9 months ago
@socastar90 Completely agree with you . Mike Tyson was a phenomenally gifted boxer with a killer punch from either hand . Incredible defensive skills in his hay-day, and fast as hell . So exciting to watch and for many he is the best ever heavy-weight .

@socastar90 You've got it dead on mate . Nice one

@socastar90 he has no olympic gold medal, and Ali was the first 3-time champion (Tyson is "just" 2-time champion anyway)...BUT one of the the greatest, and my fav boxer!

@socastar90
tyson is not the first 3 time world champion, does not hold the record for fastest ko, did not have the best defense in boxing, and is certainly not the only fighter to be compared to ali.

davidmgm 8 months ago
@davidmgm Do you see where I said ARGUABLY? What's with you fucking morons, can Tyson fans not read? You think I'm the only person in the world to say this? It's an opinion held by at least 50% of pundits.
leave12 8 months ago
@leave12 word is that you are in fact the fucking moron for using arguably overrated next to mikes name. nuff said
davidmgm 8 months ago
@davidmgm That is the word. The reality, though, is that you're a pretend boxing fan who knows nothing about the great boxers. Or, you just happen to know more than every boxing legend or expert who've ever said he's arguably overrated. Funny, because you were born in Tyson's era, like me, yet you clearly know absolutely nothing about the calibre of his opponents. You arent built for this discussion.
leave12 8 months ago
@leave12 Dude, listen to yourself "Mike Tyson arguably overrated" i don't need to say anymore.
davidmgm 8 months ago
@davidmgm Yeah, it's called "objectivity". Do you have any understanding of the era he fought in? Name me these giants that he slayed.. Name ONE great boxer he beat? Beaten by Douglas at 24 in his PRIME, KO'd by Holyfield at 30, beaten by Lewis when Lewis was older.
I could go on, but the facts are that you know fucking nothing about boxing, so stop pretending you do. If you did, you'd have an argument other than simply telling me I'm wrong. Tyson fans never know a thing about boxing. Morons.

I´m 34 years old and still would´nt like to deal with all that even at a grown age as mine - imagine it at 20!!!. I hope the best for Mike Tyson.

Ali wouldve beat his ass.
veeseee128 1 year ago
@veeseee128 caz u think Ali was much faster than Mike?
vincent8qin 1 year ago
@veeseee128 i agree that ali would have beaten mike the majority of time throughout their careers, but at their very peak, i believe ali would have been intimidated by mike and that means that ali may not have been able to get the best out of himself if he was afraid. mike is a lot faster, stronger, skillfull than frazier, i do not believe that tyson heart is as big as joe's, but i don't know if any other fighter except george foreman would be able to expose it when tyson was at his best.
MrScottydabody 1 year ago
@MrScottydabody You make some interesting points. But in his prime Ali was never intimidated by ANY man. If Sonny Liston didn't intimidate him, Mike Tyson wouldn't have. Ali NEVER showed any signs of being intimidated until the Holmes fight. He put on a lot of pomp before the bell rung, but you could see it in his eyes when Holmes got in the ring. Every fighter has fear. Prime against prime Ali had no equal. Frazier never faced a prime Ali.
bandit7498 1 year ago
@bandit7498 i almost agree with you, and would invite you to consider that everyone is or can be made fearful through hype. Ali as great as he was, nevertheless, displayed fear in the early rounds with Foreman, notice how he reacted when George swung at him in the first round, the issue is not FEAR itself, but OVERCOMING fear. Mike Tyson had an awesome marketing machine behind him in the 1980s and in most cases he defeated his opponent before the bell ever rang. Hype can do that!
MrScottydabody 1 year ago
@MrScottydabody I never said Ali didn't feel fear. He readily admitted n several occasions that he was scared to death of Sonny Liston. I said he wasn't INTIMIDATED. There is a difference. But I gotta say I didn't see that fear you're talking about against Foreman. Concern maybe but not fear. So consider that Ali faced two of the most feared heavyweights in boxing history and not only was he able to beat them convincingly, he broke their spirits through and through. My guess, same with Tyson.
bandit7498 1 year ago
@bandit7498 i agree with you that fear and intimidation don't necessarily have to mean the same thing. I don't know if you are totally aware yet that Ali broke Foreman's spirit more so by not rematching him than upsetting him in Zaire. It is not necessary to consider that George was only 24 or 25 when he suddenly lost to Ali and this means that he was standing at the edge of his prime, but not yet so. Yes, wehave never witnessd GF in his absolute prime.
MrScottydabody 1 year ago
@MrScottydabody Fact: Ali wasn't in his prime either when he fought Foreman. Also fact, Ali was forced into retirement as he was just entering his prime. So it's safe to say we never saw the best of Ali either. Dundee himself said we never saw the best of Ali. A heavyweight's prime is usually between 27 and 32 years of age. So who knows. As far as the rematch goes, Foreman was scheduled for a rematch and then he lost to Young. Ali never said no to a rematch. Foreman quit after the Young fight.
