actually, most republicans were against the fannie mae freddie mac fiasco. Bush tried to stop the economic meltdown, but was rebuffed by the Democrats. there are no alternate fuel sources. the one with the most potential is ethanol and in order to grow enough corn to fuel america, you need to cover 97% of the land with farmland. food prices would skyrocket. only small environmental bills have helped. the best way to fix the energy crisis right now is to build more nuclear reactors. they have been proven to be safe, but no, you guys say no., just because there's the word "nuclear" in it.

The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.
Under the plan, disclosed at a Congressional hearing today, a new agency would be created within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored companies that are the two largest players in the mortgage lending industry.

I only saw a huge pile of trash over burdening the trash cans. There were at least 300,000 people there. I made sure to leave my place as it was before I got there as did everyone around me. We at 8/28 cared. Those at 10/2/10 didn't.
