  • that was only 0-99 at 0:19.lol

  • @350zspeed i look back on the shit i posted and litterally laughed out loud..but neways i was a dumb teenager and like i said was just going off of what other people told me..my gsr is pushing 220 to the wheels now ill have to upload another video.

  • @350zspeed ur the retard..

  • alright for all of you haters..i dont see why you even waste your time talking shit here to me..i dont really care i have learned a lot since this video was uploaded over 3 years ago..i have fully rebuilt this motor all myself so im pretty sure i understand it mark but thanks for the comment..i was a dumb kid in highschool when i posted what i thought vtec was due to what i was told..so just save it please..new video soon to come

  • @madracer53, learn the basics of a four-cycle engine before you even attempt to understand a twin cam engine or VTEC.

  • Nice speedo..... jackass

  • @badopinion whats wrong with my spedo? if ur gonna hate save it..

  • lol your tachometer is so off...1st gear doesnt end at 47mph

  • @calk87 The speedo is off dude not the tach.

  • @calk87 you are an idiot

  • stu shift slow

  • Comment removed

  • "Turns the cam on." Bahahahah! That's why the timing belt wraps around both cam gears...what an idiot.

  • needs a new clutch

  • correction! the GSR vtec engagement is at 4400, redlines at 8100 and the rev limiter on a stock P72 ecu is 8200..1st and 2nd gear ratios of S80/Y80 (LS/GSR) are the same but 3rd, 4th, 5th, and final drive are what makes the difference..so technically speaking, your ecu has its rev-limiter removed, 8300rpm in 3rd at 98mph is off the OE gear ratio/mph correlation due to rims and tire size, and it seemed so long cause of it being stock otherwise ur gauges are off..stock engine yes, the rest no

  • this doesn't seem right

  • we're you late shifting? cause thats what it looked like. just curious.

  • I wish my engine wound out that high..

  • those are some long gears.

  • lol stock gsr i got a lot more in it now i have stage three clutch flywheel, cold air intake, headder, full cat back magnaflow...connects right to my aftermarket headder, and soon to come turbo t4. i will get some new footage of it now and post it on here so you can see the difference, and there is a big difference lol.

  • dayem, those are some long gears, is that a ls tranny? first gear goes to 45, second 75 third almmost 100?

  • Thats normal for a lot of cars that redline lower...for a car that redlines @ 6,000rpm, those would be really crappy gears, and you'd redline at about 120mph in 5th...

Those gears are actually for acceleration, its why they're so quick. The fact that it will rev to 8,000rpm is why it does 45 in first, 75 in second, and almost 100 in third...

  • he is right.. and when it has vtech it is even faster all hondas with vtec dohc redline that high its only that high though because of the vtec

  • nope its a gsr tranny and it redlines that high because of the dual over head cams which allows the engine to spin that fast, and vtec which allows it to still have power at that high of an rpm. vtec is varial valve timing by the way.. it turns on at six thousand rpms and goes to eight and a half and when vtec hits it turns the second dual over head cam on... other wise there is only one on...listen for the change in tone at six thousand rpm.

  • DOHC doesnt ALLOW an engine to spin that fast, a pushrod V8 could spin 8,000RPM, and run at that speed with enough air and fuel.

Vtec doesnt turn any other "camshafts" on, its not a 2nd "DOHC". DOHC is 1 camshaft for the intake valves, and 1 for the exhaust valves. Vtec is simply an extra camshaft lobe which pushes the valves down further and longer after a certain RPM, optimizing low end and high end power.

  • @mrZdude well said

  • Why does your vtec engage at 6,000? I have a 1990 Integra with a B16 swap with a virgin ecu and my vtec engages at 4,700.

  • @trojantrackstar24 ....sorry but in his description it says bone stock, stock gsr is vtec @ 4400rpm and secondaries open @ 5700rpm. What ?virgin? ecu do you have where your crossover is @ 4700?

  • @1JDMb16aEJ8 idk what ecu was in it but it wasnt stock everything else was though besides a few other tricks that i did to it no bolt ons no nothing back off

  • @trojantrackstar24 idk i guess it does engage at 4400rpm you just cant really hear it till 6k. and i took a diff route, im rebuilding the motor right now all n/a 12.5-1 comp pistons bord out to a 2.0 darton sleeves block port and polished by DOCS machine in az. so we will see hopefully have vids soon

  • @madracer53 lol.. ur explanation of vtec is wrong kid... nice try

  • @touwish kph

  • @MrSevvo nono that would def be mph nice try though

  • @touwish its a y80 hydro tranny

  • dude that engine sound good

  • chip ecu? redlines at 8500rpm?

  • nope actually the gsr runs stock with an 8500 rev limit

  • and i thought the B16 and GSR redline at 8K while the CTR and ITR redlines at 8,500.. correct me if im wrong so i don't feel like a dipshit

  • the gsrs redline starts at 8k but the revlimiter hits at 8500 so ur right

  • that thing ripps man. Nice car and shifting. about the enigne i dont know if i am going to do it. I have to put my car out for a long time. I might as well get a type-r lol but, it will be stolen in no time. lol
