Two years later I comment: (he he) :56 So they send you samples with exact formulation on the bottle, But you did not follow the specifications for the the formulation on the bottle? One would assume that the makers of the electrolyte solution had done a few tests to come up with this recommended mixture. This is a very poor test of this product IMHO.
I did try this with the pure mixture and I substituted vinegar with de-ionized water and it turned black just the same. So I do not know how you are seperating the gasses from mixing but in both the wet cells and the dry cells it does the same thing to me.
I also noticed some other things if you look at my comment to regpye
Yes. I have many telling me that. I was heavily ventilated at the time.
I did notice an ammonia smell when I ran this thru a dry cell with de-ionized water instead of vinegar though. At first it smelt a bit like old fish, then ammonia, then it cleared up real quick.

Hi. I think you said you only use vinegar with the supplement you bought.
Vinegar has a very low hydrogen content, you need some distilled water in there,
not much vinegar.
Has long as oxygen and hydrogen mix in the solution it will go brown.
I've separated the two gases from mixing in the water and the water stays crystal clear. I wouldn't use salt.
As for the production, its not breaking the bubbles quick enough.
But production looks OK to me for the amps used.
cheers.
