  • Almost got his best time with the cross on top lol

  • i think you could easily be the best cuber in the world if you practiced. you are a very smart person and imo deserve to be better known in this world. your knowledge of the cube is incredible.

  • Must... practice...more...

I get sub 20 solves like once a week max, but lately I've been getting a lot of 21s and 22s. Strangely, when I get a sub 20 solve like 99.9% of the time it's also sub 18.

  • Lol @16.86, cross on top.

  • were did u learn the pll

  • sorry for the noob question, but what was the algorithm you used at about 27 seconds, where there was a red edge on the orange side and an orange edge on the green side... i recognise the situation, but i only know a much longer slower way :S

  • @Haydinnio I think you might be confusing the z-perm with one of the u-perms. check his website just, it has all the algs he uses (mostly).

    I'm pretty sure that alg was R2 U [R U R' U'] (R' U') (R' U R') though.

  • Logitech G5 ;D

  • Thank you for this video. I've been watching your tutorials and currently average around a minute, with my best time being 44.97. Been doing Friedrich for about 2 weeks now and I am discouraged that I am still so slow and this inspired me to keep going.

  • WOW thanks to you I can now solve the cube in 35 averages and my personal best is 28 sec, ( Ive only been cubing for a moth) :)

  • @mrcoments83 do you know full look ppl and oll?

  • I know full pll and Im working on oll

  • @mrcoments83 oh ok, cool :)

  • you have the same keyboard as me

  • maybe I should hear those kind of songs while playing so I can be faster

lol my average still stucks at 40's

  • Poor guy... the cube.

  • Hey that was awesome! I love all your videos and when i started watching them my average went down by about 2 minuets! I just solved in 34 seconds somehow using f2l and then both 2 looks! so if any1 could check that out it would mean alot!

  • Feels nerdy to know that, while I can do a rubiks cube, and only takes 1 1/2 min, that this video feels inspiring to me.

  • Must have taken you years to do that

  • wow gj!

you should take part in contests!!

some guys who take part in a european championship have an average top 10 of 20 secs and you have less!!!

    nice

  • :P lol i thougt it was 22 or something XD

  • the records like 7 seconds what are you talking about

  • no it aint its like 8 secs 0.o

  • its 7.04 or something checkout frk17

  • no it's 7.08. get it right if you're going to correct someone

  • That is the official record they have some videos with under 7 seconds by Erik and Yuku

  • 7.08 that rounds off to 7 im afraid

  • Smooth

  • reptilia- the strokes

  • lol. he has a stack mat timer right next to him!

  • he's trying to find his average and the stack mat timer doesn't give him his average

  • on cube mania you can insert your times manually and it gives you an average

  • and to CCT you can connect the stackmat what gives the average..

    Good job badmephisto ;)

  • @TheRaceToPluto cube timer dot com is even better. it gives you over avg. avg 5. avg 10. best time. allows for inspection time etc. check it out :)

  • wow meph u improved like mad from then to now, ur fingerspeed is mad fast but wtf on ur recognition times?

  • REPTILIAA~~

  • It's a really good song!!!!

  • how long did it take you to lern all olls and plls?

  • for me plls took like a week to 1 1/2 week and olls I learned like 10 in one day and then i havent learned any since o.O

  • what're olls and plls?

  • top layer when solving the rubiks cube using the Fridrich method

  • took me bout an hour to learn pll still working on oll

  • thats old video i think u are way better now :)

  • do you know all 21 plls? the 57 olls???

  • of course. in fact i know more. For every case I know 1 or more algorithms, and i use them interchangeably based on what position i run into them in.

  • wowzers!

  • It's one or more algorithm. Algorithm would be singular.

  • wqqqqwrt, do you enjoy being a douchebag?

  • I'm sorry. I might even be wrong. if I am wrong, please correct me.

  • can you give me any tips on how many olls and plls i should learn a day??

  • 1-2 is a good number. It might seem small but it's so you can get them down pat and not have to backtrack. But of course you can always learn more if you wish.

  • oh k thnx

so i see der is no definition...

    thank u!

  • can any1 pls tell me wen ppl call demselves speedcubers??? i mean wat shd der average or something be??

  • anyone that is solving for speed is a speedcuber, but thats just my opinion

  • i would say about 20 seconds to 25?

  • Great

  • the song is reptilia right?

  • Nice!

My Average is 1:06, but I'm training hard to get faster. Btw, i got to buy a speedcube, this original Rubik's Cube is so sticky!!!

  • a "speedcube" is called a diy and is much better than store bought cubes but treat ur cube nicely and it will treat you nicely back.

after modding my storebought cube its better than any cube ive ever felt

  • very nice guy, my personal record right now is 43min33 but I work hard to speed it up, but that's easy with youre video's, ty;)

  • You are incredible. I am learning your 2 look pll and oll. My best time right now is 1:12, so I hope to get faster! Thanks a bunch!

  • I'm training hard to reach those times;-)

I'm messing around at a best 26 sec average of 5 . putain merde sage ich da;-)

    Greets from germany

  • Daaaamn!!! YOU'RE A GOD AT THE CUBE!!!

my average is like 1:25 XD

(I'm only a beginner though) I still don't know the full PLLs and OLLs, but I will. ;)

  • With beginners method my best is 36 seconds i dont know how i got it but i did.

I've got a tip for u. Instead of using just 1 method be open to all methods for example i sometimes use keyhole sometimes f2l but usually beginner

  • what's ur fastest time?!?!?!?

  • Your using the Fridrich Method right?

  • not right, left... lol

  • What do parenthesis around the solve times mean?

  • it means the best and worst time of the average so they do not count in the final average

  • lol, I figured that out right after commenting, but still thanks for giving an answer.

  • your welcome

  • wow! :o

ur space-bar must be made of steel to withstand the force u put on it to stop the timer, lol

  • hey u do f2l oll and pll? or another method?

  • of course he is using Fridrich method

  • very good :D:D:D

  • your very consistent

  • did u do a j perm in the solve of 17.72?

  • did u no tht tperm+y2+tperm= e perm?

    and also tperm+hperm=fperm?

    cool isnt it

  • not really... any two PLLs together will probably give you some other PLL...

  • Yes thts true but some combinations give PLLs tht dont exist.......

  • ... no they dont. any combination of any plls will always yield another pll

  • i think u used 2 look oll in last solve

  • i think you're wrong.

  • oh ok sorry lol

  • you're a beast.

  • Man you could be amazing if you didn't have those pauses and maybe had some better fingertricking

  • you're f2l is very fast

  • WOW!!! Its like you know what is gonna happen in every turn!!! OMG!!!

  • wait, was that a two look pll?

  • nope, I just couldn't follow it

  • also what method are you using?

  • he uses fridrich

  • the site doesnt eplain the difference in the types and i dont have a clue p.s i want to upgrand from a conventional rubiks cube

  • type a is better.

  • Could someone please explain the differences of the different types of cubes?

  • cube4you type d is out of stock.

    DAMN IT!!!

  • lol really? im so happy i got mine early. they're SOOOOO good!!

  • go on ebay and search speedcube its the first that comes up

  • its been out of stock or a month i no i wowned up bying a type c to see how they r

  • use rubiks brand lah quite smooth with spring

  • i want to see badmephisto Vs Trawst

  • You can get a fast solve also by going smooth and slow.

  • you are absolutely right.

    look at Erik's 7.08

th speed came from his smooth F2L

  • how long did it take you to get sub 30, because im so close right now.haha, i was going to get a 28 second solve today, and my space bar malfunctioned. but anyways, yea, how long did it take you?

  • what cube are you useing in this vid? type d with an A core?

  • it says at the end that its plain type D

  • kk XD ty

  • so whats better, a diy, or a type d?

  • lol ya u can tell ur better at the cross on the bottom from that last 1 but thats good i just cant convert lol im getting so good at it but everytime i try i mess up so i dont see the point but agen, very good solves. Thanks for finaly making an avg video.

  • hey badmephisto, how long have you been averaging sub-20 to be at ~17.5 avg? and also, are you on the wca website?

  • i reached sub20 somewhere in september :D

but i stopped practicing regularly and I've been on and off, so... i'm not great for comparison i dont think.

  • oh. You got yourself a stackmat?:))

  • yes but as you see its hardly ever used :p

  • what do you do as a living?

  • i am going into my final year of university, I study Computer Science, Physics, and Math.

  • nice

  • I am entering my junior year of high school and have become very interested in a few things high schoolers are not known for being into, philosophy, math, physics and economics for starters. what should i do besides study, work hard etc. to continue further in these fields?

  • Read a lot of Wikipedia, and if you hear a word you don't know... look it up!

  • go to the library, and get some books that look interesting. See if you can find any university level online courses for things that interest you, like for example I know MIT offers free video lectures of some of their classes. I'm sure some other universities do as well.

  • what kind of cube is that?

  • wow you are really good. great job

i got one question: what do you think of adjusting the cross with u moves instead of D moves?

  • i do it all the time. Maybe not in this video, but thats just coincidence. I use them about half and half, it depends on situation

  • i like the song. its called

    Reptilia - The Strokes =]

  • yep, i know it from Rockband (its like Guitar Hero for anyone that doesnt know). I used to play bass on this one. Its basically flicking 30 times per second for 5 minutes on this particular song :D

  • Badmephisto, you say you don't usually do speedsolves, but rather you try to do very smooth and clean and perfect solves. Do you think that that's a good way to practice, if your trying to get much faster?

  • hi. first of all easy with the 'bad' stuff, call me meph, or mephisto if you insist :)

anyways, i'm not sure. It sounds like it could be, but then I have not improved significantly over the last few months. I was essentially 18 second average 4 months ago. It may actually be due to the fact that i don't really 'speedsolve' anymore. Or it can be just the fact that I haven't been solving too much lately :( busy with work and stuff :( so, i dont know

  • hey meph great vid, helped out a lot :) hoe much oll and plls should i learn in a day to learn them all?? i no tho the 2 looks :) thanks meph :)

  • u need to challenge thrawst just post the scrambles and you will beat him.

  • Cool this video is cool

  • Nice! I'm down to about 60 seconds...I'll get there soon.

  • very nice! is a rubik's or a diy? cuz it kinda looks like a rubik's

  • your H perm could be alot faster o.o

  • hey yaya finally this video =D i dont mean to an idiot or sumthing to your vid descrition but you can stil apply slow f2l with no breaks on a speedsolve and get id say almos the same averages as the no breaks compensate for that. like em alot of french speedcubers go slow f2l no breaks for fast times - just tought u'd share that with you. just an option if u wanna see how it turns out with you =)

  • yep sometimes I get very good times with it too. Look-ahead really counts.

  • nice video it is great and i couldnt tell, did u do extended cross? on the last solve it look like you did but that could jus be me seeing the corner in the right spot but lol u do f2l so fast i couldnt tell lol. and with H perm hav u tryed r2 then R2 and do that for the rest?

  • i always did it r2R2 but I am trying to switch right now, thats why it comes out weird at times.

And yes I think I tried an extended cross on the one where pre-inspection takes me like 10 seconds, i think 2nd or 3rd. But it didnt work out :) I don't usually go for xcross unless i see something very obvious that is already solved.

  • what is the song

  • Reptilia by the Strokes, I believe

  • I agree, smooth solves are so much more satisfying!

  • your using fridrick method right?

  • Nice! I've been cubing for a few months and my average is around 40sec. Hopefully I'll finish learning my last couple PLLs today or tomorrow, and then learn the OLLs by the end of summer :)

  • nice video and average i hope to be as good as you soon d=(^_^)=b

  • any tips for a 9 year old boy that started a week ago and is learning and watching your fridrich video and is getting around 1.2min

and how did you get into speedcubing?

  • i saw some guy solve it on a streetcar, and i thought it was really cool. So I went and bought my first cube on that day and I've been hooked ever since.

Watch my "how to become speedcuber" vid. Follow down the list:)

  • you're insane. my average is 40. still very slow. haven't memorized all the algorithms yet.

  • o sorry. i commented before the end of the video. and type (d) ftw!!

  • nice vid, and what's the song?

  • noticied that you did cross to the top at last 1 solve :D

    You are fast -,-

  • haha cross on top is alright sometimes, it depends on the situation. I solved cross on top for about 1 year, so i have developed a lot of fingertricks for it. I am in process of switching though :)

  • nice video
