the Cathars were just the tip of the iceberg so to say, the persecution of dulist belief started way before and continued for many years after. the reason why it sticks out so much and inspires so much interest is not so much that it was against "the Cathars" but that is was the only Crusade called by the Papacy against other Christians.
What is missing here is that the papacy declared the Cathars to all be "witches". Also, the sheer numbers. How many killed by Christians? 1000? 5000? Nope. OVER ONE MILLION CATHARS.
@gekritzl Since 1948, "crusades" became "genocide' under international law. Actions against a group based on an idea is wrong; their beliefs had no impact on the others who pursued them. now "Liberation Theology" is from catholics church. It incites hate of "Anglos," ridiculously in S. America where the Catholic was perpetrator. It became "latin," not b/c of "anglos." church incites, insists on open border, pretends it has no accountability to the deaths that happened, even now.

Cool video. Am fascinated with the cathars and the siege at Montsegur - the "psychic scar" of Southern France.
