They are mostly for combos and links, like Juhn's. Lin's also reduces yortr health down to 1%, but you must make the final bliw. I see why its confusing.

the combos are sweet, you can cancel your own moves and some attacks are just a cool way to finish the combo, check the kof 2002 combo video, is sick, a lot better than tekken, kof is more complicated to master and alot faster than tekken, 100% better tha street figther

totally worth it, this and the regular 2002 are the best and 2001 too but that one is different, check it out dude!!!

It all depends on some of the HSDM players, if you notice the boss characters didn't do much, because their defenses are higher.

Now I believe some of the HSDMs like Benimaru and Jhun's are meant for either defensive or for Combos.

Some HSDMs are used for their properties rather than damage. For example, Krizalid's can hit an opponent who's been knocked down.

Other times, they're just there simply because they look so badass.

I must admit that many of the NESTS bosses' HSDMs are WAY toned down. Krizalid's HSDM is the most "damagable" among all them. Surprising. Zero's and Original Zero's HSDMs are MAJOR badasses.

I wonder why Takuma only gets love from SNK in non-story games. First Serious Mr. Karate in SVC Chaos gets to rock with Akuma as a penultimate boss, now he gets a HSDM that would put a MvC character to shame with his blastitude. Even the 2000 ending that the move is taken from is non-canonical. :-(

Keep in mind, that the only reason the boss character HSDM moves seem to do so little is because they're being done on the boss characters themselves. On regular characters they would do upwards to 50%+ if not more.
