  • Does anyone have a clue what the name of the instrumental or who composed the instrumental for the movie "Bamboozled" that is played durning this video?!?!?! I cherish it and find it extremely melodic .

  • I believe this track was written by Bruce Hornsby. It is certainly in his reflective style..

  • @Cornbreadhunter No, Bruce Hornsby did the track on the end credits; this track is Terrence Blanchard, a trumpet player from New Orleans, who's also featured in, "When The Levees Broke", and also, "If God Willing", the follow-up to, "When The Levees Broke". I don't know the name though.

  • I remember being stationed in korea..and I use to play this to sleep..great piece, great movie..

  • Was the music for this done by Spike's dad?

  • Love this tune.

  • one of the biggest underrated films of the last decade

  • I love the message this movies shows African Americans. Furthermore, I love the tune in the background. I want to download it and put it on my ipod but it is not available anywhere.

  • There's so much feeling in this song...it speaks to you... t's got that sadness behind it, but still a determination. Almost indescribable.

  • The music in this movie is incredibly beautiful.

  • Spike's greatest movie.

  • i'm a bit disappointed they didn't release the score. altho i was very excited recently when i went to a jazz performance and the quartet performed a piece from the movie. i was super exicted over that the movie really does have great music

  • great song, great film, everytime i watch it i get something new from it.

i'm sort of glad they haven't released this score, makes it all that more special to cherish the moments you hear it.

    thanks for the upload.

  • Is Terence Blanchard's score for "Bamboozled" available on CD? I noticed that the only Bamboozled sound track on Amazon is a mix of Prince, india.arie etc.

  • @redetrigan

i can tell you now, NO! and it upsets me because i just want the score and i cant get it.

i've even gone thru certain illegal channels to get it to no prevail

  • Nope.....Sadly enough, the greatest song in the entire movie has yet to be released even after so many years.

DOS ANYONE KKNOW WAHT I SHOULD SEARCH TO FIND THIS SONg ON ITUNES OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT ??? :/

  • im extremely touched by this song

  • i wont even lie,i even shed a tear because im like are white folks this evil against black folks?it made me angry.if white folks aint the devil im afraid of the real one

  • i feel you pym but the devil is a spirit that need a person or people to work through

and they way we black's killing each other and this down grading rap music devil works on us as well my friend.....its sad

  • preach on. lol

  • this is a sad song though,i downloaded this and made it a mp3 it's sad though cause i was driving through the neighborhood and i seen how so many black folks are killing themselves, and it breaks my heart i didnt know white people could be so evil

  • What kind of whites are you associating with?

Anyway, I think at this point in history, every race, including our own, has a minority/majority of people who try to push Blacks down, IMO.

  • You didn't know white people could be so evil? Open a history text book then junior!!!

  • @oldfool666 Exactly theres a plethora of history on the subjugation of blacks and the portrayed "black face" from "mentrual" shows. Its one of those aspects history teachers prefer not teach. As there are certain aspects history can be biased due to the perspective of history writers. When obviously its an important facet of American History. Thus, It should be taught in all schools in order to show how society as progressed from such backwards ways.

  • Thank you a whole lot for uploading this.

  • i loooove this song. thanks for who placed it here

  • Good stuff, been looking for this song for years.

  • Tyler Perry Meet the Browns = Mantan & sleep&eat

  • @HiJinx01 True - and especially the fact that you got religion thrown in with it, just like the minstrel shows back in the late 19th century, early 20th century. Mr. Brown looks like a modern-day Uncle Remus, and I've also seen some similar shuck n' jive antics on Nickelodeon and Disney Channel (had to change the channel, because I watch tv WITH my 4-yr old Daughter, and some things she is NOT watching), too. I remember Spike tried to get the old racist Mickey Mouse cartoons in Bamboozled.

  • you know whats scary? it's 09 and the antics i seen in this movie are some of the same antics we see now in various genres. Like you ask yourself what is it gonna take for this to stop or change. I feel that this movie made pple in general look at themselves

  • spike lee's bamboozeld was such as beautiful film, really demonstrates his genius.

  • One of my favorite movies by Spike Lee... too bad I never heard it making it to theaters. The music alone was totally on point. Where does he find the people to do his song scores? He sure can pick 'em. Another classic. Well done. Well done.

  • Omni, the score is by the great, great Terence Blanchard. Someone should correct me if I'm wrong, but since "Jungle Fever", I believe Blanchard has scored all of Spike's films. He also played all of Denzel's trumpet parts in "Mo Better Blues".

I'm with you on the "Bamboozled" score. I wish it was on the soundtrack. It's my all-time favorite Blanchard piece.

  • Can you get the score on iTunes or any way on cd? It's so beautiful. When Spike Lee sets it to the Minstrel footage, I can't help think how beautiful it is even though I'm crying my eyes out.

  • Man, I've checked every possible place for the score. It's simply not commercially available. My hope is that sooner or later (preferably sooner) Blanchard will release a Filmworks Anthology or something. That's probably the only way we'll ever get the score :(

  • You can actually get it with Firefox Download Helper. You can download the video from youtube, and then change it to an mp3 (from a flv video) with Window's Media Classic (and it HAS to be the Classic version). This is how I get all my seriously hard to find music, such as this. :) Good luck!

  • ur right

  • love the film, poignant, sad, charming, hilarious, satirical...brilliant. and this music complements it so well too.

  • The song isn't available anywhere :( Wish they could just put it on i-tunes :P

  • I love this song, the name please?

  • Just out of curiousity: do you know the name of this song? I actually have the Bamboozled Soundtrack (bought it specifically for this song), but it wasn't on there.

  • hey i will do that.. meanwhile, i welcome ur comments on the substance of the film

  • Very nice.

Ever consider doing the credits as well? It's like the only thing that has Bruce Hornsby's Shadowland, and nobody else on the whole of Youtube has it.
