I dunno why everybody's getting so worked up. Everyone is sides with Ross in the matter of their relationship. The truth is...Rachel had no idea how to be committed to one person, and she had no idea how to survive in the real world. He wanted to do all the wooing meanwhile she was still learning to stand on two feet. Honestly..I think he rushed into this relationship. He wasn't giving her what she needed. She overreacted because she was stressed and emotional, but he didn't understand it.
I loved the chemistry between the actors and I love how much Ross loves her, but I do not like Rachel as a character, he could have done better, but he adored her.
everyone is entitled to their opinion, but mine is she was awful to Ross many, many times. He did not cheat on her, he really believed she broke up with him.

A person is not brain dead because they don't agree with you, in my opinion Rachel did a lot of selfish things to Ross, dating Mark, Joey who was his best friend, balding Bonnie and then, making him read that letter, putting all the blame on him..she didn't deserve Ross, he was too sweet for her.
I think Rachel was horrible toward Ross, he was always so loving to her and she treated him like dirt. She was spoiled and so many, many times she made him beg and then turned him away, Ross was a sweetheart, she was lucky to have him and they were broken up, he did not cheat on her and she made him pay for that forever. She was awful, awful, awful to him.
She's not selfish at all, she's just incredibly hurt. If you'll recall, in the episode where they split, she tells Ross that she never would have thought he could ever hurt her. He was a complete jackass for what he did. I mean, yes, they get back together in the end and they truly love each other, but I can totally understand where she's coming from.
uh my opinion isn't changin. i've watched every episode and i still think rachels selfish. how abt when she ruins ross's wedding! what a bitch...couldn't forgive ross when she sh had a chance with him but once he's going to be married to another girl she shows up at the wedding and totally confuses poor ross...emily was a bitch too but she might not have been if rachel didn't show up at the wedding!!

well by the 9th season?? she had grown up. remember the first episode is her running from her wedding...then she works as a waitress/dates ross...eventually becomes a calvin klein personal shopper...and then moves into management-or designer of some kind and by the end she's being invited to make a real life decision/change to go to paris...and by the end she figured out what she wanted. i think she grew out of her selfishnes at the end.or the writers wanted the fans to be happy. and the kid!
Actually, that was the tenth season in which they finally reunited. I honestly never saw her as being selfish. Yes, she came from a spoiled family, but once she moved in with Monica and procured the waitress job, you saw quite a change in her personality, and this is why she decided to date Ross. She saw how genuinely sweet, loving and caring he was toward her. What it comes down to is, in the end, I loved Rachel because Jennifer Aniston made her endearing and indelible.
Oh yes she did, I mean you may like Rachel, but she did a lot of mean things to him and he was not a jackass, he made a bad mistake, did everything he could to apologize, he practically begged her forgivness, she was cold and unforgiving and not the only one who was incredibly hurt.

If you think about it, Ross was the one that made the mistake. For as deeply in love with Rachel as he was, he should've known better than to have a one night stand.
