Awesome video concept. And HOW did you ever discover that awesome music? Thank you for introducing us to it. I just purchased it and downloaded it. How awesome. How blessed. How wonderful.
Thanks for such a lovely video. Hats off to you for such wonderful chess video compilations. Good to see the history of chess in videos. We all chess fans are very thankful to you for your great efforts in bringing these to us.
Great collection of very special photos! My favourites have always been Morphy, Lasker, Capablanca and Fischer, but all of them played great games. IMOO , in his work as a researcher, for the right way chess should be played, Steinitz tops them all. Lasker was the greatest fighter, Capablanca the greatest natural talent. And on the board, reaching the highest level, Fischer was the strongest.
Just a bit confused, as my own order of World Champions starts with Steinitz.
Great photos. All of these Champions would be frightening to sit across the board from, some maybe a bit more than others, heh. The music also fits extremely well, especially toward the end of course as it moves to video of India.
unusual piece of music by Handel (more my parents territory)...i recognised more faces than i managed to put a name to but should've done better b/c only Euwe, Aljechin, Zukertort and Botvinnik i haven't seen before.
Nice show, but annotations to tell who all were would be nice. Some I recognized, some I understood from the Russian signs, but far too few can read that.
@skinnyjohnsen Hello Skinny- there are two photos of each champion- one at the board and a head shot, then the page turns. In order of appearance: Morphy, Anderssen, Zukertort, Steinitz, Lasker, Capablanca, Aljechin, Euwe, Botvinnik, Smyslov, Tal, Petrosyan, Spassky, Fischer, Karpov, Kasparov, Kramnik, and Anand. Yes, all the photos after Anand are him- including when he was young, and images from Madras, his home province in India.

Staunton was only champion in his own mind. He knew he would have been a fish dinner if he played Morphy.

Are they all in the order of tags shown?
Was that a very young Anand at 4.22 and after?
