  • Amen. Right on point guys, good job! All the haters can jump off a cliff

  • Needs Work

  • You can sing a part...but you can'y sing harmony

  • the asian guys need to sit down. their accent is throwing the whole thing off! sounds bad. everyone off key.

  • Very nice. Beautiful!

  • Ouch...my ears!!!

  • I really admire people trying to do it as Take Six,this was a ver very good version..... until the song got to the 2:00... and till the 2:40 it's really a "fail"...

    For the rest congratulations !!!...

  • If imitation is the purest form of flattery Take 6 should be surely gratified.

  • Love the guy singing bass. His deep voice is very comforting:)

  • Hey! That`s my fav song :) I`m performing that too on my S-Festival. Watch my new video (it contained this song singing by me). You all have wonderfull voices. Congratulations dudes and cheers!

  • awsome work! however shoman ship is everything. take the hand out of your pocket on stage, stop rocking and swaying out of unison. you only need one conductor. two, no good. one group...one sound. no need to jock for the front line. all voices work together for the good of them that love him. you all do love him right? (jesus) mmkay, because if you guys are merely doing this to size yourselves up then do the scales. anyway, i loved it! touch is good!

  • you see, these guys are not take 6. they are touch. they are not supposed to sound identicle to take 6, however they sound awesome anyway. good voices, work together. your solo, is not your solo. it belongs to the whole of you. each voice doing its thing.brining together one voice...one sound. stay together! awesome work!

  • beautiful. i wish i could sing with you all. good voices are found everywhere. BUT..

can it sing with others and keep its pitch?

ah-ha..that is the question. I loved it. thank you for it. god bless each and every one of you!

  • PART II

the upper voices were not to bad at all, but the bass was microtonal here and there, thats why all of you were like in a ship on the ocean with a big storm , keep the work, again the upper voices were not to bad at all, and to prove play bass on the keyboard , and to the bass player, he need more and more Solfegio, and practice, practice, Take 6 are a beautiful example of love for god, thats why they practice with such love and dedication.

the most important thing is god remember that!

  • PART I

sorry guys but is funny, the part at 2:11, and the beautiful Progresion C# sus13 to C#13#11 at 2:31 to 2:32 was crushed, dont worry guys, this song is an extremelly hard piece to master, i mean, a lot of chords, modulations, alot of Harmony and altered chords, really this is a hard piece to sing, the good part is that you can fix these problems, the bad part is that these is in you tube and is maybe awful for you to watch and listen, GO TO PART II

  • He never sleeps microtonal version......but, if you realy sing this to god, is nice in any way

  • oh my...I am seeing people REALLY give these guys the BUSINESS on here..I thought they were really good personally...... right until 2:02 and beyond, THEN they were off key in a lot of places. Also, I like how Randy Jackson has EVERYBODY using the work "Pitchy"..ha ha ha Someone said 'Take 6 is a tough nut to crack'. They were absolutely correct, but I DO give these guys credit, they tried very hard.

  • Great Rendition!!!

  • guys! you are incredibles!

  • This is awesome. I loved it. Very well done.

  • I wish I still had this CD so I could post this very song on youtube. Why no one has done it already, I dont know. Must be one of those copywrite issues.

  • the 3 asian guys in the middle need 2 b booted out of the group. there accents is throwing everyone off.

  • Over all it was good. Pitchy is some spots, and it bounced out key a time or two. But take 6 is a tough nut to crack. No one can do it better. Guys keep practicing...you will get it.

  • I concur

  • This entire performance, from start to finish-was awful. This video was filled with flat tones, strained vocals, and mediocre vocalists. They butchered one of my personal favorite Take 6 classics-lol. There is much room for improvement. Better luck next time.

  • very well done! i don't like to comment on videos (cause i don't speak english very well... lol) but this version of yours is really good!

after 2:05, somebody seems to get off tone and the harmony get a little bit messed, but this version is very good though.

  • that is a real good rendition of take 6

  • They did a very good job here. I know that I've commented on this already, but, everytime I come across this, well almost everytime I come across this, I feel compelled to speak on this. This was just beautiful!!!

  • From a full-time musician, I have to tell you I hear every hour of work that went into this tune. Jazz comes with all kinds of 'festering fifteenths' - and it's hard enough to pick the notes out, much less arrange them. Nice job, guys!

    TC

  • Glad thay they have that guy who's able to sing with that deep bass cuz he fleshes out the rest of the singers in this performance. However, these guys did a good job:)

  • i dont know y everybody is lyng but this was awful....it was flat and sharp the whole way thru...u guys should have got a pitch from a piano...all those people who left comments must not be musically inclined because i heard all of you guys mistakes...but good try...no on can cover a take six song...sorry

  • That's not true...Mary is the easiest song 2 sing...My group did it a couple a times. If we ever is also a very easy song 2 sing.

But about the group..You're right about that.. the bass is singin often offtone. Singin hormony like that means listening 2 eachother closely!

  • I would agree about Mary but not about If We Ever !! If you're talkin about take 6 arrangement come on the baritone part is tough ! there are some crazy chords progression that arent' easy at all to sing properly...

another easy tune by take 6 would be Hark the herald...

  • you guys did an awesome job on that very clear!

  • this is one of my favorite songs. I used to listen to over and over and over as a teenager. "TOUCH"... did an alright job (kind of) but c'mon, no one can really do it like Take 6. EVER!!!! I have been searching for the original on the internet for a while now. If anyone knows where I can hear this song in its original state by Take 6 themselves, please let me know. This Vid was just a MAJOR teaser!

  • if you like Take 6 BUY their first CD It's their best and you can have it pretty cheap on amazon...

  • "The next number we are going to do is 'He never sleeps by..... Take 6 or something?!' "

You should really know *WHOS song your doing* especially with all of these Take 6 Fans out there.

    Much luv

  • Just fyi, he said:

"Hello, ummm, 'He Never Sleeps' is the next number we're going to do by Take 6. It's something in the past we kinda... ummm... 5 of us went to Iowa for a workshop a long time ago. We got to speak to Phil Matson and he kinda took us through some stuff. We also saw Take 6 in concert.. couple.. weeks ago?..."

    :)

  • The technical is there but there is NO SOUL in this song by these guys. Nice try though

  • Ok.. I am a music Major /perfomer and A very big admirer of Take 6 for 20 years now. I think You guys did a good job. Some notes and harmonies that Im accustomed to were missing but overall a good performance. The comment from Trentkrist were valid.Keep up the great work! Are you planning on releasing a CD or do you perform Original songs? I might have some material for you if your interested in that "Take 6" style

  • not bad at all...

  • how did yall learn the song? Is there sheet music for the song?

  • I transcribed it...em@il me if you want it...for free :-)

  • @jibcraip hey I am a young musician, and I attend Bethune Cookman university is there any way I can get a pdf or sheet music to this song? Thanks!

  • Great effort!!! some of the chords sound different, did you guys transcribe it? anyways soon im gonna attempt to multitrack it but probs gonna fail due to "major damage to the laryx" anyways good job!

  • You guys did a nice job, not quite t6 however take 6 isn't easy to just follow after..this type of singing take lots of practice and for you guys to sound as good as you did you did your homework...keep up the good work!

  • Not a bad job at all! Need more feeling and emotion opposed to everyone just singing their notes. Ending needs a little clean up. Keep up the good work.

  • GUYS INTONATION ON THE KEYS Change and the ending??? I give it a B

  • You all have the technic down. It lacks soul and feel. It still sounds great though guys. Keep it up!

  • The best way to listen to this, well, at least for me, is to listen to the tenors cuz they are the lead vocalists. Let their vocals stand out in your mind, cuz everyone else is pretty much singing in harmony with them. Listen to them in this manner and the song becomes much better. I did this and it was like listening to the song again for the first time. These guys did a very good job singing this song. Not Take 6 quality, but still, a very good job all the same:)

  • This isn't Take 6 quality, but they did a pretty good job;)

  • Not quite like T6...But I'm very proud and very impressed. And all you critics that thought it was "awful"...which one of you thinks he can scrap together 5 other guys to come as close to T6 as theys guys? Good job TOUCH! Because this is a difficult song.

  • You lack some confidence which leads voice shaking, especially the tenor part. Also, another consequence is that it sounds out of tune. I believe the way out is to simply put more heart into it. Believe me - singing with your heart opens all ducts. Understand what you're singing.

  • I think it was pretty good... keep up the good work! Everyone's a critic. I'd like to hear everyone who's cutting on you guys rendition of this cut.

  • That was just awful.

  • The harmony was pretty good, but the High Tenor isn't blending with the group. Merv Warren's solo is very natural and high. It's authentic. Very hard to duplicate but you need to have a smooth high tenor to compliment the harmony.

    Excellent attempt though.

  • I like it. It's smooth.

Claude's solo in this (the first one you sing) is epic, but yours goes well with the more smooth version you guys are performing here.

  • Great attempt boys. Just more soul needed from the lead singers, but overall, well done. Nothing wrong with the bass either, but the supporting voices [baritone and 2nd tenor] could 'support' a bit more.

  • just work a little more on the breathªªªªªªª...after that is really good!!!

  • That was avery accurate, as far as the arrangement is concerned. Big ups guys ...you rock !! do you know 7th Element and Naturally 7, if you like Take 6 you will like them too.

  • I agree about the bass part - too weak around 2:40

  • Maybe my sub is putting out alternate sounds...

But you guys rock. And the bass was killing it!

  • AWESOME...TAKE 6 WOULD BE PROUD

  • Awww, wow, now that is a kind comment! haha, I'm not so sure of its accuracy though! hahaha, we did our best to do the song justice. :)

  • super humble, i love it.

  • Some good stuff but the bass has to be confident if the other parts are going to fall into place. The top tenor sounds strained... granted it is very high, but maybe too high for him.

The solo was pretty good; I suggest a constant breath support and lower larynx. That will help eliminate H's in words like Halways and wuHurry. I'm not just some jerk who thinks he knows everything; I have a voice performance degree. Good work; very few people could even attempt such a challenging song.

  • Thank you so much for your comments. I do appreciate them. The adjudicators actually said the same thing about my solo. Too many H's, I didn't even realize it until after they told me, but yeah, definitely something I need to avoid. I'll let the other guys know of your advice as well. Thanks again. Respect.

  • Hey dude, thanks for the critic. Don't worry about the comments, we're usually more interested in hearing what we can work on, rather then just hearing about what we did right. lol!

I figure, we know what we did right, but it's always good to get an outside opinion of things we many not have seen. =)

It's been too long boyz... heheheh

  • Bass sounded TIGHT! For trying an Chea line.

Infact thats one of the best bass part to any take 6 covers I've heard in a while!

Yeah the breathing affected the high parts, sounded a lil shakey... But good job for having 4 white guys singing a T6 :-p.

    Awesome!
