  • You have to enable your japanse

  • I can't even understand this man, but the program can

  • olá! alguma previsão deste projeto para o GNOME 3 ???

  • Love the dragon chick. ;)

  • Cuuuuuut!

    omg that was lame

  • "EDIT"

    * program cuts selected text *

  • Is there anything that will highlight text as it reads and let me paste in whole books or any amount of text? I am currently using Readplease and would like something that works in Linux. Readingbar is also an excellent program. Unfortunately both of them only run on Windows XP and Readingbar only works with Explorer. It would be a dream come true to find the same program that runs in Firefox under Ubuntu or Linux Mint.

  • Gut? I'm sorry, there is no clippy in ubuntu....

  • "EDIT" lol

  • shutdown!

    go to bad!

    dream!

  • Puta acento Indiano / AUSHSAUSAHSAUSAHUAS.

  • @L1GH74NG3L

Indiano, nada!

  • :)))) Cut !

  • Asian.

  • Does it work with XFCE ?

  • File!

    File!

    Fail...

  • how do you rune an OpenOffice Write app with this thing?

  • I guess the indian guys who must have programmed this stuff could have optimised it for their own accent?

  • @MrShitpickle He is Brazilian.

  • I want that wallpaper

  • Is it pronounced "gee-nome?" I've always said "nome."

  • @nobodyfromnowhere same. He said Gi nome

  • @nobodyfromnowhere I heard a guy from the gnome project pronoumce it gu-nome. G as in great. Same as GNU is pronoumced Gu-new.

  • Kut Kut Kut Kut (you'll understand if you are Dutch)

  • Its only calibrating when im turn it on =?

  • Cat! Cat! Cat!!! Cat!!!! Aaaaaargh!

  • nice work !! thanks for the efforts and contribution :)

  • I love this video.

  • Tried installing it in version 9.10 and during ./configure I got this message "No package 'cspi-1.0' found". Any idea. I heard it is obsolete.

  • I am using gnome voice 0.1.0. How I can update?

    Please Help Me

  • Can I controll it without a funny accent or is it a requirement?

  • Hahaha nice comment

  • I hope to see some completed release soon. Congrats. keep working on

  • cooool thank you very much

  • When will they come out with speech to text that isn't so bleeping expensive for those of us who are disabled. also when will it stop making me repeat words like of or a the an and. none of them recognize articles...

  • This is so awesome. I can't wait to talk to my computer like Kirk does in the enterprise...

  • Nice video thank you very much for posting it. :)

It's good to see a GNU version of this. If you have ever tried to install this you will quickly realize that it isn't easy to do, and is likely impossible for someone with disabilities.

  • It's working very well, given your rough accent..

  • cut

  • "clousi uidáuti seivin" , Quincel...

hahahhaha é lógico que o pc não sacou nada.

  • nice video, but im still waiting for the voice command program witch you will not need to talk like an idiot. This is just amazing for blind people but for normal users is just a waist of time.

  • Thanks for this video. I speak with accent to. English is not my natural lenguaje but now i know i can use recognition to. And fuck to everybody who laught about it. Ill like to hear you speaking my lenguaje...

  • language

  • hahaha

he's probably a Brazilian that didn't take much english lessons.

I'm a brazilian too, but my spelling is pretty good.

  • Wow this guy's voice would be hard for any speech recognition software to understand.

  • I've starting to use Linux for several months, and just looking for speech recognition software for Linux.

I was so disappointed at this video for its terrible accuracy, compared to my Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9 on Windows. This video shows one of the developing points of Linux.

I wish I could use Dragon NaturallySpeaking or some kind of alternatives on Linux.

  • linux is currently the most advanced desktop operating system out there.. it may not have the aftermarket software it deserves, but the only reason for that is the number of idiots still with windows garbage

  • this guys voice sounds like he has turret syndrome so im guessing it wouldnt work to well with him anyways lmao

  • its spelled tourettes, and how in any way would you assume he has it? is he yelling? is he swearing? is he making random twitchy noisess? no, he just has an accent, probably indian. way to insult 2 kinds of people

  • way to improve your image

  • if you didn't care you wouldn't respond

  • (sigh) idiot........

  • roflmao! Sorry guys, this is worse than the Amiga 500's voice recognition of 1990!

"close window goddammit stupid computer! close window!!!!!!" ROFL!

  • what about "chinchel" LOL!

Look, it's only 0.2, besides... they don't have money.

  • No, it can surely be made into something useful by the almighty community. Eventually. Very, very eventually. Maybe even our "IT-speech" department at the University of Uppsala (Sweden) could be persuaded to contribute, I'll even point on of their postdocs to it.

  • Do you think you can tackle that? Community is not almighty. Does your university have student exchange and english classes? Got any good links on speech recognition/sythesis? Thanks.

  • this is kind off topic, but how do you do to use your mic as input for gnome-vocie-control and also as input for the soft.that record you desktop? I need to record my gnome-voice.control in spanish but i only able tu use the input from mic with one program...

  • Wow, this is really impressive! I wonder how well this would work with a more neutral accent... Also, I wonder if more work could be done to rename commands for clarity. For example, "new" and "view" sound too much alike. "New" could be renamed "begin" or "create"

  • Cut!

  • This voice control helps replace the mouse, but I want it to complement keyboard tying.

  • it is going to take a decade until this really works...

  • post a ogg/theora link

  • CUT alphalpha, CUT!

  • Cut xD

  • well it would help to pronounce everything in real english and not in half russish...

  • I want ur wallpaper :)

    Is it a real photo??

  • NO! lol thats not real. but it is awesome

  • Maybe the software would work better if the user was a native English speaker...

(Cara, sua pronúncia em inglês precisa melhorar um pouco... Às vezes o problema do programa seja esse... Mas mesmo assim é um belo trabalho! Continue desenvolvendo e, quem sabe, um que funcione em PORTUGUÊS)

  • Well I guess this is only the first step, it's actually the first time I see something similar for Gnome, so we'll just have to wait a bit more, I'm sure we'll see a very cool product :)

  • I must say this is not very impressive. Can the recognition be trained? Because as long as it's that bad, you will only go on people's nerves.

  • Where's the innovation?

  • run tek eñitor
