Hi redibeaver....goodness, you come on strong! It would be very helpful to see some of your work. I'm always open to learning. Do you have a website? Videos on You Tube? I can't seem to find your paintings.....
Think HEXAGONALLY when painting the lace of a wave. Practically all forms of foamy brine follow a crystalline pattern not haphazardly as you paint it pickering dude. From one seascape painter to another, you need to take a trip to see some REALITY of the sea.
Byron Pickering has done more to show how to create technically perfect seascapes more than anyone I've ever studied in the last 40 years. The man is truly a "giver". If you want to see more....then buy his instructionals yourself. Don't wander through life thinking you're going to get everything for free. Support this wonderful man and his art before he leaves the planet.
Sure thing Byron! : ) I don't think you would remember me but, I'm Geary Wootten from Seattle. You were VERY helpful to me as I was just getting back in to oil painting seascapes a few years ago. I bought your DVD about 4 years ago when I was still up there.
As someone who owns 3 of his originals, Mr. Pickering is untouched as an artist, and a nice person as well!!!

Makes me think of Daniel Bergren and Ben Saber (two of my favorites).
