  • When the fuck was this?

  • fuck yea

  • Herny is was and will always be one the most outspoken badasses to ever bless the stage. hes more gnarly than ever, and grows in testosterone levels by the minuit. and to say hes lost that in his age, is just simply not so. Hes still angry, and nothing is missing. good for him. good for us.

  • I thought I saw a bottle of Metamucil in the crowd.

  • Henry's voice sounds great, actually

  • Very nice:)

  • when was this filmed

  • he's still scary lookin though

  • Much respect for the Man at 1:10

  • @Moochi96 just wanted to thanks for pointed out 1:10 on the "rise above" video , made my day ....

  • kids bop

  • Its like hes actually trying to sing instead of just screaming it out like he use to...it makes it sound weird...

  • I feel like starting a fucking riot.

  • Why the fuck isn't that flag upside-down? This was posted while the country was in a fucking depression, wasn't it? FUCK!

  • Not the same :(

  • this song is a lot more clear because modern audio recording apparatus's have altered to be that way...regardless...it's the fucking anthem to the real America!!!

  • @80smetalguy628 Or maybe a reunion show, I'm confused now

  • @80smetalguy628 This is a pretty new video, man. Looks like Circle Jerks concert with HR's guest appearance. How do I know that? Keith had the same shirt on YT's most popular Wild In The Streets live version. I like watching lesbians, too bad public masturbation is illegal.

  • That video is cool but Henri sounds and looks too positive now... No more desperation, no more real anger. Good for him but something is missing.

  • @Gorgosaure he´s not pissed off kid anymore...:/

  • @Gorgosaure He doesn't look angry to you? Dude, he looks like he's gonna finish this song then go eat some babies or something. He's got the Rollins intensity here for sure.

  • @MrJimbofox Jim, read "Get in the Van", you'll see what i mean.

  • @Gorgosaure he's old now lol. dude he was practically a kid when he recorded this.

  • @Gorgosaure i agree, the downside to getting older

  • Is the dude with the dreads Thomas from Strike Anywhere? does anyone know?

  • @orgyofdeath No its Keith Morris from Circle Jerks.

  • if you think about it, punk, in its purest form, is libertarian.

  • @80smetalguy628 Oh boo-fucking-hoo.

  • is Morris on backing vocals?

  • mosh pitt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of the best punk bands ever. Heavily influenced one of my favorite punk bands Eviction Notice. Their song Dump Two really shows how much Black Flag they must have listened too. They keep punk alive and so does Henry Rollins.

  • Ok, i'm 23, does it make me immature that I can identify with this band's lyrics?

  • @Radz117 No no it doesn't.

  • He's wearing a shirt?

  • Turd. This isn't the flag man it's mother superior covering rise above . Fuck this garbage .

  • @revblackflag True its Mother Superior but Henry Rollins is singing and Kieth Morris+Kira Roessler on the backing vocals.

  • @ChaosDragon018 It's Rollins Band you vagina..

  • @TFISHER666 Lol well a couple of Mother Superior were in the Rollins Band

  • black flag hardcore punk bitches n i love it

  • why is there an american flag real punks don't beleve in nationalism

  • @johngorgis Jello Biafra has answered that question. Punks dont believe in shit. Marxists dont believe in nationalism.

  • @johngorgis Difference between nationalism and patriotism, get educated you shithead.

  • @hojima patriot |ˈpātrēət| noun

1 a person who vigorously supports their country and is prepared to defend it against enemies or detractors.

Assuming by 'punk' we also mean extreme left wing, it would be quite stupid to wave any country's flag around. That said, Rollins isn't a leftist "fuck the state" kind of guy.

  • @SebbeSucksBawlz You dont need to be extremely left wing to be punk. I'm left wing, rollins clearly is if you have any degree of literacy. Sure hes patriotic, but his defenses are always intelligent. He defends the people, not the institutions.

  • Is Kira on backing vocals?

  • Year?

  • fuck that crowd.........lame pit...

  • This is fucking stupid. Henry "old man" Rollins and Keith "I'm comfortable doing backing vocals" Morris. This is like watching post-Danzig Misfits.

  • @jingledjango he might be old but he could probably kill us with one hand

  • @jingledjango Yeah your shows are way better. You're so cool!!

  • @jingledjango he was doing this for the West Memphis Three, working hard to get three guys out of prison. What have you ever done?

  • @jingledjango almost as much fun as watchin you talk shit on you tube.... wheres your video??? Oh wait you just talk shit & sit back dude your fuckin super cool.

  • didn't rollins write the song "rise above"?

  • @ratmanbowers no, it was written by Ginn..

  • @ratmanbowers Rollins helped write it, but it was primarily Ginn.

  • Rollins is king

  • Damn this takes me back! Hank in KEN mode.

  • @Theboxer500 last time I saw someone glow sticking, I ran up and smashed their face in.

That is the biggest waste in time. So Is that hoola hooping shit.

hardcore and punk take so much energy and it will always be above trance. I get that it takes talent, but no energy.

Now... Free the west Memphis three.

  • holy fuck it's Weston!!

  • I don't think any vocalist could interpret Greg Ginn's material as well as Henry Rollins but he at least should've toured with an ensemble comprised of additional alumni from Black Flag- aside from just Keith Morris- when he performed such songs on behalf of the "West Memphis Three." Wouldn't it be more appealing if you saw them share the stage with Chuck Biscuits and Kira Roessler as the rhythm section?

  • @541967 it's not as though either of those two was in BF very long in the grand scheme - once Ginn says no what's the point of doing anything more than what he did....

  • it's not like they were in the band very long...

  • Gay music

  • @Theboxer500 stupid troll

  • @doente5 No i'm serious look at these FAGS they look like bunch of fucking morons. I'm glad the rock days are long gone, specially those ugly, dirty ass girls in the back, EWWWWW. Thank god for electronic music.

  • @Theboxer500 and you are an alienated guy who thinks the only important thing about someone is the appereance

this fucking electronic music has no content. its just some shit fashion offered by media. it wont be remembered in a few years. keep thinking like that, dude. thats what the government wants.

and just another thing: DONT STEAL PEOPLE! THE GOVERNMENT DOESNT LIKE CONCURRENCE

  • @doente5 LOL i make electronic music, It's not easy at all. "Electronic music has no content", i disagree have you heard Trance music, it's one of the most melodic type of music, in the music world. Rock has no content because all you ppl do is smash your head and talk shit while you sing, no dance, no grace and no assertiveness in your music. I make trance and techno music and it takes a lot of talent and know how. Search Dj Mangoo - Day Dream, then you will know what Trance music is.

  • @Theboxer500 you are pathetic, for real. i have a lot to say but i aint gonna waste my time with you. ur just another stupid troll

  • @doente5 LMAO fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck rock music fuck it fuck it.

  • @Theboxer500 Sorry mate but you don't know shit about punk if you're saying it doesn't have content. Sorry to break it to you, but punk is one of the only genre's to actually have such a shocking content to it.

  • @olboardmoaier sorry to break it to you bro but this music (punk, rock) is going out of style. Ppl that i knew 3,4 years ago that liked rock music are now into club music. Usually lil kids like rock music because they think it's cool, once they hit high school they realize that hip hop and electronic music are more popular. I on the other hand am a trance and techno DJ and i make my own beats, i'm not in it for the pussy, i'm in it for the love of the music.

  • @Theboxer500 TROLOLOLOLOLOL

  • @Theboxer500 Well you didn't break anything mate. But Punk is more than just a style and don't ever say that the lyrics are bullshit. Yes there are songs in punk that are utter bullshit, but if you might take just 5 minutes of your time. Check Dead Kennedys or Aus-Rotten. Both Punkbands, both different sound, both amazing lyrics. Punk is much more than the stereotypical view media threw up on it.

  • @olboardmoaier i don't know it's just not my type of music.

  • @Theboxer500 And because of that, you shouldn't talk trash about punk. Because you don't understand it, if you're going to comment on a genre of music, please learn about it and don't be guided by mainstream stereotypes.

  • @Theboxer500 Seriously. You are what is wrong with producers. Shit. I might not be the best producer in the world but I could generate a gang of that trance shit in 5 mins with FL studio. Randomized riff. RANDOM RIFF. Stock break. Quantsize No actual innovation. I out produce you with an ABBA cd and 5 mins with ableton live. i can play 3 instruments. I'm proud of my talent. You should go to SCHOOL and learn something. BTW Search Justice Vs Simian - We Are Your Friends. thats REal FUCKIN music.

  • @Adroitism HAHAHA lets see you try to make trance music in 5 mins. Lets not forget if you haven't heard the music and don't know shit about how it sounds then you can't produce shit. I can produce rock shit by screaming at the top of my lungs and finding ppl who can play the instruments. As an electronic music producer i'm far more educated about music then your punk ass. I know how to change the velocity, pitch and all the little things that make music what it is.

  • @Theboxer500 I know how it sounds. I listen to ALL kinds of music. UNLIKE you. I play BOTH rock and electronic shit. I can do either and I understand synergy I can produce WHATEVER I want without limiting myself and making MORONIC comments that big up my genre. Thanks for calling me a punk by the way. Always was one. always will be. BTW a stoned monkey can twiddle the velocity knob. Try Singing or Playing anything.(Besides a sonata on the skin flute that is.)

  • @Adroitism I use Fl studios as well BTW. The only reason why i was talking shit on punk and rock is because Henry Rollins was talking shit about djs and electronic music. If he wants to be respected as a musician then he needs to appreciate all forms of music. As a trance musician i like some rock songs too (not punk) but only the instrumental parts. I'm not into rock singing.

  • @Theboxer500 'trance musician' is an oxymoron.

  • @Theboxer500 I respect your differentiated taste of music, but you cant just base an entire scene, and genre, on one man, and on stereotypes. Punk rock does take some form of talent, for the instruments and the singing(well most of the time). The "modern" punk scene has great bands, much different from the 70's and 80's.. One modern punk band is called Rise Against, I ask that you try their song Survive and tell me what you think. The song is not screaming or shouting, it has guitars, and vocals

  • @ChaosDragon018 i heard it. All i can say is that it's not my type of music, but the vocal part had a deep meaning to it. Not bad, just not the type of music for me ; )

  • @Theboxer500 Ok then i will respect that :).

  • @Theboxer500 I read your hundred fucking comments on this video, and I've got to ask, why are you even watching and comment on something you apparently don't like? and any retard who can read and count can eventually learn how to create techno. And that DJ Mangoo-Day Dream song you told everyone to listen to, is the gayest thing to ever touch the human ear. Stop being a little keyboard cowboy, get up and go do something producktive in life you little bitch

  • @andrewnoce gayest thing??? lol no wonder why you rock heads don't get anywhere in the media culture, cause you guyz think everything is gay. Well let me tell you something screaming in a mic doesn't make you an artist. DJ mangoo is the shit, go back to the 80's cause rock doesn't exist anymore.

  • @Theboxer500. There are a bunch of great rock /punk bands nowadays. And I noticed that you only focus on the vocalist when you attack the music when that is only part of the sound. Why don't you post some of your shit if you are such an *cough* amazing *cough* artist.Your argument is invalid so why don't you go fuck a midi jack,

  • @Theboxer500 and after you are done with that, Your bitch ass can go back to your pathetic live of making techno and hanging out with 14 year old girls, druggies, and nerdy asians, which is primarily the fan base for such lame music that you supposedly make

  • @andrewnoce Okay first of all i am a trance DJ not a fucking techno dj. For you info trance music is for older ppl and there aren't any lil kids, Maybe in some stupid techno clubs of america. Have you even seen a trance club?! Type in trance club on youtube and see the shit that pops up, the girls you will see are smoking hot and only club chicks are the best, none of those fat rock loving trashy hill billy chicks.

  • @Theboxer500 hey trance guy , can i ask .. wtf i are you doing here , i mean this is real music where people play instruments. here to look for samples to steal ?

  • @wrongturn320 hey rock dude. Trance music involves the key board and the last time i check the keyboard was a real instrument. BTW trance musicians never steal music, the music that your talking about is techno or that american crap you hear on the radio. Trust me dude, trance music is about melody and rhythm but mostly melody. I have yet to find a progressive or uplifting trance music that has stolen lyrics. Armada is a trance industry in Europe, they have their own musicians and singers.

  • @Theboxer500 listen kid ,i am just fucking around because you are on a black flag video referring to people as " rock " or "fat hillbilly chicks". i am from miami florida and there is quite an electric music scene and has been since the late 80s.. so yeah i know the difference between techno and trance .however, calling an old school skate punk like myself "rock " or my past or present home girls " fat hill billy " is probably the same as referring to you as " alice deejay" or daft punk

  • @Theboxer500 one more quick point , in your earlier posts , i see you said something like . rock no longer culturally relevant . everything about this song is going on 30 years old and black flag , henry rollins , keith morris , kira , dez , greg ginn are MORE POPULAR and more internationally recognized now than they ever were when they were touring . YOU just do not see it . if you can tell me you think trance artists will still be relevant in 30 years .... i do not either ,peace

  • @wrongturn320 Trance music is considered "the next generation music". This is probably the reason why most trance musicians prefer their real name rather then being called "DJs"

I don't mind a lil bit of rock but not punk, punk is too loud and obnoxious. Reason why i said rock isn't gonna survive is because i see more and more ppl getting into electronic genres.

  • @Theboxer500 i understand the popularity issue . i will just say this ,i really do not care about whatever it is you call "rock".. but as far as punk goes......" it(punk) will never go out of style , because it never was in style to begin with" that was said years ago by wattie from the outstanding punk band"the exploited" seeing as though we are on a black flag video .. i am ONLY talking about punk

  • @Theboxer500 futhermore , you want to say whatever you call "rock "dead .. that is fine but i also hear you say how hip hop and trance are taking over .. hip hop is over bro . sorry , has been for some time .. just because a bunch of brain dead idiots and impressionable kids still listen to it does not mean anything to me . please name a culturally significant MAINSTREAM rapper . your argument loses all momentum when you compare trance with hip hop

  • keith morris at (0:43) ?

  • when was this?

  • when was this? it looks pretty new

  • Oh my god!! Is that JD from Korn on backing vocals?! haha

  • @leeg1931 its keith morris

no one would fucking bother with that asshole from korn

  • Saw 2 of the shows on that tour. Amazing. Keith and Henry delivered and Mother Superior were spot on with each song. The haters are going to hate, but ask anyone who went to Ginn's BF reunion gig around the same time. It was a disaster.

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • Fat mexican dude at 1:10. Hell if i didn't know better I would've thought he was my relative.

  • This is weak, back in the day this shit would of been wild.

Whole bunch of weak hate mosh, no diving.

    Ah sucks.,

  • the girl next to keith is KIRA right?

  • @suhijo yep its kira! :)

  • when did this happen!?

  • @JulyArises -- Many of the bands you mentioned (including Metallica) were influenced by Black Flag. If you followed much of Metallica's music, you can hear hints of Black Flag in their music.

  • @AW71

    fuck metallica

  • 1. what year was this? 2. is that kira?

  • @killallthewhiteman08 yeah the girl in the dress is kira :) you can see it on the small black flag tattoo on her arm

  • When was this video filmed?

  • Rollins is the man!

  • is that girl in the dress kira?

  • no wonder this looked kinda weird. Rollins is wearing a shirt!

  • and now they are free

  • THE APOCALYPSE!!!!!!!! Lol

  • seriously, metal and hardcore is the best music to watch live, they have the most devoted fans, yet its not metal and hardcore that is played on the radio, i think its a time for a change. Rather watch a band that has bust their asses and toured in shitty cars to get where they are than to see some brat on a stage that hasnt wrote a single song by himself/herself.

  • @JulyArises I never hear hardcore on the radio. I've heard killswitch engage, shadows fall, metallica, ozzy osbourne, iron maiden, etc... all over the radio. If your hearing hardcore on the radio, point me in that direction.

  • @brillohead89 said didnt hear them, and was talking about extreme metal though, that metal is just, meh for me. i want real face melting nut punching heavy metal like suicide silence, the black dahlia murder, job for a cowboy, slayer, suffocation, through the eyes of the dead, despised icon and stuff like that. But in sweden they play Raised Fist from time to time, but its the one song that is kind of ballad like so it doesnt count.

  • Somebody throw that chick off the stage.

  • Modi? Is she that hot director chick??

  • Wow Kevin your own bootleg edit...interesting :) Modi

  • I love black flag.

  • I was listening to this song when i learned to skate. Man i love black flag.

  • Comment removed

  • Wait isnt that the guy from sons of anarchy

  • @TheVinssi ... Yep that's him.. Henry Rollins. :)

  • @TheVinssi lol poser

  • something feels very, very wrong with Keith Morris on backing vocals

  • @DoctorRobertBobby ...Well for me something seems wrong about not seeing Kira play the bass.

  • @DoctorRobertBobby Why? He was out of the band by the time Rise Above was a song.

  • @DoctorRobertBobby Why is it weird Keith is doing backing vocals? This song was from the Rollins years. And Keith sang the songs from his era in the band with Henry backing him.

  • @DoctorRobertBobby but it rocks oh so right

  • @DoctorRobertBobby Yeah, he should be on lead...

  • @DoctorRobertBobby It does seem strange at first glance, but on this tour, Keith always came out first and did the entire set of his songs, then Rollins would come out and sing off of Damaged, My War, and songs that would eventually be on albums like Loose Nut and Slip it In. When they made it through DC, Ian MacKaye came out with Rollins to do Rise Above.

  • @DoctorRobertBobby Not really, he didn't write the song, but the song still wouldn't have happened without him, so it's sort of a way of paying tribute to that without excluding him musically. If he was doing backing vocals on Nervous Breakdown, now that would be fucked up

  • was every black flag member there???

  • RISE ABOVE WERE GONNA RISE ABOVE!

  • Look at Keith go to his tippy toes to get to the microphone.

  • shit yeah keith mother fuckin morris
