When I listen to their albums today, I gotta say that every single one got its specific charm.. but I gotta admit that not many albums were able to win favour with me like "TIH" did... "the fear" was just amazing,, and then Dishes... I couldnt believe my ears when I first heard it,, and it still makes me get goose bumps. BEAUTIFUL!

I loved His n Hers but I'd gone off Pulp a bit around the Common People time... Then I saw this performance on telly and instantly loved them again. Went out to buy the LP the next morning. Was slightly disappointed to the quieter guitar on this song, but only slightly.

I prefere This Is Hardcore to Different Class just because it is darker and more meaningful. I think it is their best album.

my husband's initials are JC also and there was only one Jesus and the C stands for a name meaning annointed one in case you wondered. Interesting lyrics, and it seems Jarvis is afraid of getting older. I hope he comes to terms with this, as there are worse things in life than aging. It is just a number and nothing to fear.

Remember watching this and everyone at school on Monday morning saying how shit it all sounded compared to Different Class. I thought it was good then and it sounds even better now.

I remember thinking at first that This Is Hardcore was overproduced, overblown and coked-out (probably due to the Be Here Now factor) but soon enough, after a few listens, I came to realize it was (and still is) Pulp's masterpiece, and this is an excellent version of a great first track: I'm really liking the added organs.
