  • The Child" by Alex Gopher sampled Billie Holiday's "God Bless the Child"

Billie Holiday ( 1915 – 1959) was an American jazz singer and songwriter.

"God Bless the Child" became Holiday's most popular and covered record. It reached number 25 on the record charts in 1941 and ranked third in Billboard's top songs of the year, selling over a million records. In 1976, the song was added to the Grammy Hall of Fame.

  • Whose the woman singing in this song? Whats her name? Please, I must know.

  • @SpiritofRyoko20XX oh, just one new woman called Billie Holiday. Cmon. God bless the child is so worldly known that even Lisa Simpson did a great cover of it.

  • @Risingson2 Well pardon me for not knowing, but now I do. Btw, I dont care for the Simpsons...so. Anyway, thanks for informing me! Its appreciated.

  • @SpiritofRyoko20XX Oh gosh! As soon as I looked her up I automatically recognized her song "I'll Be Seeing You" I guess I just wasn't familiar with her name, but I've heard of her songs. All in all still, thank you!
