There is no forgiveness for BK from my perspective. He attempted to destroy mine, and other youtubers reputations by blocking us, and accusing us of being trolls, or worse (attacking his children) for simply making a comment that disagreed with him.
Well here is the thing, I became an Atheist around the winter of 09, or at least I addmitted to myself I was. I was not around during the time of this 17 year old apparently "crashed" the atheist community. All I have to say is that the dalai lama was announced to be the dalai lama at the age of 2, there was a pope who was appointed around the age of 8, and the atheists make their leader at the age of 17. Just saying.

While he may portray some accurately... he doesn't know them, so to stereotype those 'against him' with the plethora of insults he throws at them for seemingly eight minutes... first of all it came across as just venting, and then it just came off as a bit embarassing. If you want to call people out, name and shame them, but a diatribe of insults when you don't know your 'targets', is basically just guessing. Sad. :|
I kind of wanted to make videos. I was inspired by people like you, and the amazing atheist, and philhellines, who talk about atheism, science and religion, and care about things going on! I wanted to try to be like that.

The atheist community here on Youtube is a joke. They don't talk about REAL metaphysical topics. Nothing but "pwning contests," and demonizing Christianity and Islam.
Personally I think TAA is a very intellegent man. I dont agree with some of his "ask TAA" advice that he gives, but none the less a very smart guy. I dont make vids so I guess most of this vid does not apply to me. But I agree, all people are ass freckles for sure, In the bigger sense of the universe that is. We are all swhirling towards the same black hole.
I believe it's because Dendrophilian gave his controversial opinions on pedophilia. Saying that he didn't think it was necessarily bad or harmful.
I don't agree with his viewpoint. But he's one of my favorite people on Youtube and I'm subscribed. Some people took it badly, though. And discredited him on his other viewpoints, even if they did once agree with those.

Atheists trying to create a leader is wrong. The only thing that atheists have in common is their lack of belief in god. Atheists include all genders, races, nationalities, and span the entire poitical spectrum.
A leader needs to be able to represent all these values, which is impossible. Therefore, an atheist leader is impossible.

It's my impression that he's above all this sillyness and is just having fun. I got tired of seeing amatures screw up science, screw up economics, etc. People get PhDs to learn this shit and it can't be mastered from Wikipedia. So I like seeing just a funny vid.

What's more, I'm very new to the whole, "Youtube Atheist Community." I didn't know stuff this this happened or went on. It makes sense though. Douches are douches, no matter what their beliefs.
While I feel I don't know enough to say much more about this insanity and dramawhoring shit going on, I will say this:

I never pay attention to much of the 'drama' that goes on in the yt community, it's just lame. I mostly just post directly on religious/science topics. First time I ever heard anything about Brett Keane but this makes me want to watch more of his videos.
It's pretty sad if what he said was true about fanatical 'atheists' trying to control people's view points. A stupid religious person is not really any different than a stupid atheist.

It's the only reason why someone would go that far out of their way. If their ideas were so justified why feel so threatened? I do notice anger to a degree, and maybe hurt. It seems to come down to we people in general having to be in control of something. We really don't know that much about life no matter how much we study, believe or not. It is strange how humans need to be right no matter what angle they are coming from. What is mental health if the majority of rational people are mentally ill? Very strange world we live in, but never the less it is truly interesting to observe.

Oh man, it was a long time since I saw Brett. He was the first YTA I subscribed to, and I've always liked him. And I miss seeing his work. And I think he's got a point. I've never liked the drama, I've never been disrepectful, not even against people like VenomfangX and his crew. But it seems especially american atheism is in it's infancy and bound to be at fault here and there. Give it time.

im usually a silent YTA, but brett throws some good ideas around. i love RAs vids but IAM sounds like ASU all over again. gypsywytch is only allowed to hang with the boys cuz shes got T&A, and cody seems like a cry baby. TAA and FS are fun to watch ripping people up & both over dramatize everything but its youtube, thats how shit goes. paulsego always has wicked vids. ashetheraven takes himself far to seriously and seems to think he's some kind of athiest god. all in all is fun to watch.

Atheists trying to create a leader is wrong. The only thing that atheists have in common is their lack of belief in god. Atheists include all genders, races, nationalities, and span the entire poitical spectrum.

This is nonsense. There is a standard process for vacating a false DMCA order. You don't complain about it, you just file a counter claim, and that exonerates YT's responsibility. I don't think the "atheist community" has lynched dendrophilia: when he had a marginal view, the atheists did a response the way it is usually done.

Thanks for posting his video. I really don't like getting into all the atheist drama and I only like about half of the "popular" atheists. However, Keane made some really interesting points. I promoted Dendrophilian in the beginning and I never changed sides on that because I like his videos/style even though I don't always agree with him.

Thanks. I discovered YT after Brett Keane was gone, so I never got to see him. I don't agree, however, that CapnOAwesome is "controlled." It's my impression that he's above all this sillyness and is just having fun. I got tired of seeing amatures screw up science, screw up economics, etc. People get PhDs to learn this shit and it can't be mastered from Wikipedia. So I like seeing just a funny vid.

It's a good point you make. Youtube videos and wiki articles don't make your ethos as an atheist. Get the degrees and do the research yourself, then educate in the academic field.
