  • they cant just deny it, the puzzle peices are all there, the still wonder where the keepers came from, the protheans couldnt have built all the mass relays and make the keepers, and saren is just a mortal, not god so there making him seem more of a high heircy then he is.

  • I killed them but kept Anderson as councillor. If they dont listen you in mass effect 2 what good will they do in mass effect 3.

  • @Millsy4ever well one thing good about it is that u get to rub their nose in it proving you were right about the reapers

  • Mass Effect 3 out in a month, time for a replay of the first two...

I haven't decided what to do with the Council. I like the first game having a bittersweet ending, and some distrust between humans and aliens. On the other hand, the Council don't see particularly grateful, and really, three politicians aren't worth hundreds of other lives.

    Ah, decisions decisions.

  • That's odd. I never spoke to the Council. Do I have to go at a certain time or under certain requirements? HELP!

  • @FinalNinja447 I don't believe so. You can still see them once you get Legion.

  • Man these guys were idiots. I can't wait to see their reactions when the reapers finally invade

  • Mass Effect 3:

Council: "Shepard! The galaxy is under attack! The Reapers are real! Come save us!"

Shepard: "We are currently building consensus. Please try again soon."

  • Just blew through the game for the millionth time, and I can't believe I didn't catch this before:

"Saren was an extremely charismatic individual [convinced the geth] that the Reapers were real!"

How the FUCK does charisma work on ROBOTS? WTH is this?

  • @Wolfsrain90 Erm, a big point of the series is that artificial intelligence is intelligence all the same... otherwise, they wouldn't have turned against the Quarians.

  • @instantdeath99 Charisma alone has nothing to do with intelligence. Nothing. Charisma is the ability to sway people with pathos and presence - something that the geth are immune to at this point in their evolution.

  • Thus why i killed them

  • if i can i'll let them die on mass effect 3

  • Do not fear the unknown. Fear what you know but refuse to acknowledge.

  • man,I hate mass effect2 for shit like this!!there should be questions on the beggining of the game about all important things that happened in ME1 and how did you solve it.this way sucks big time, firs time I played Udina was in council and Wrex was dead

  • @ReCell02 That's why its usually an added benefit if you played and had a saved file in the Fist Mass Effect.

  • @ReCell02 If you buy the Genesis DLC, if gives you a little motion comic introduction, recapping the first game and giving you the chance to make all those decisions, like saving the rachni queen, saving Wrex, all that.

But yeah, starting ME2 from scratch and having Udina as the councilor, Wrex dead, who knows what other crap, sucks.

  • I wish that Anderson was a little happier about being councilor.

  • 3:39 Holy shit Miranda !!! Since when did you learn to do the moonwalk ? LOLOLOL .

  • Comment removed

  • Much love for the Turian Councilor, I just love everything he does.

  • cnt w8 4 mass effect 3 just to see the turian councler's face wen the reapers arrive he is gonna feel such a cunt all 3 of them will hahahahahha

  • I could not believe that the council still don't believe shepard, they saw sovereign attact the citadel with there own eyes, what the fuck.

  • Wait a minute wtf is this i beat the game saved everybody and everything but i never saw this, i never met with the council

  • @GdawgGC Did you save the council?

  • @rambofan334 Is that a choice you make in ME 1 or ME2 cuz i only played 2nd I don't remember being given that choice

  • @GdawgGC You have to beat mass effect 1 and save the council, what systom do you have this on?

  • @rambofan334 xbox 360, ye i never played the first one. Theres no way to shift the story towards me saving the council? Like without uploading a me1 save what if i choose all paragon decisions up until this point in the game?

  • @GdawgGC Get the first one, by the way it's really fun.

  • When I came to meet the council the batarian system was already destroyed (my bad). And the council didn't even mentioned it.

  • Harbinger: "We have to do something about Shepard!"

Reaper Councilor: "Ah Yes, 'Shepard', the elite Human Commander who came back from the dead and destroyed the Collector base in the Galactic Core, oh we have Dismissed the claim"

  • ......This is the punishment I get for not getting Mass effect 1 (Only 2). I miss so much cool stuff.

It would be cool if at the start of Mass effect 2, when you don't import a file, that the choices that would have been made from Mass effect 1 are completely randomized.

  • 3:37-3:42 what the hell miranda did the moon walk XD

  • i chose anderson as councilor in me1 but for some reasons the councilor is udina in my me2

  • It's funny how the turian is such a dick via hologram, and it's "polite" when meeting in person

He must be afraid of punchs lol

  • I cant wait for mass effect 3 and to see you councilors faces when the reapers arrive XD

  • @Zanethedarkone council: SHEPARD THE REAPERS ARENT REAL STOP SAYING BULL----- OH FUCK

  • mine went so weird there must be a crossed wire somewhere... i got the dialog combined with Anderson and Udina as the councilor ... Like Shepard says nice seeing u again Councilor to Udina and then Udina says tell me next time Councilor to Anderson lol ... it got mixed up somewhere and the Turian in the Gun Shop hates me cuz i let the council die but there they were when i got here lol

  • OMFG, that fucking Turian IS FUCKING IGNORANT! AND THE ASARI.

IM SO GLAD I LET THOSE BASTARDS DIE IN ME 1, funny thing is I "persue" a paragon life.

  • Any "paragon" users choose Udina or let the council decide. If so what happened in this scene. I am probably doing that since I need to play 1&2 over before 3 releases. I see no reason to be completely one sided. I realize everyone has their opinions on ME 3's story. So I thought of some possibilities: Ashley becomes Spectre, Miranda (Cerberus/ Illusive Man Loyalist) betrays you , Thane dies, Zaeed wants vengeance if you "killed" him, Kasumi's data is leaked uh-oh, Wrex angry you have genophage?

  • Ah yes, youtube, a website acquired by google capable and currently hosting trillions of videos. We hav dissmissed those claims

  • The Alliance Navy -- a galactic force for good.

  • I got this 4 the ps3 and if u download the cerburas packageit gives u the mass effect "comic" of the first game that gave me the option 2 save them

  • 3:37 wtf xD

  • @kilox10001

If you didn't save them in the first game, I don't think you can talk to their replacements in the second.

  • @kilox10001

Did you save the Council in the first game?

  • Is this the only time you talk with the council during the game? Or can you talk to them after destroying the Collectors and the Human Reaper, maybe present some type of proof?

  • 0:54

  • Kinda convenient that Vigil has been in working condition for tens of thousands of years, and only breaks down after you discover it on Ilos. And even if the council believes that Sovereign was built by the geth....shouldn't the very fact that the geth could build such an advanced ship be disturbing in the extreme?

  • @dokaw yeah you think they would rather believe in an unknown threat like the reapers than believe that the geth have them so technologicaly outmatched that they can nearly wipe the whole citadel fleet in one attack, even if shepeard was dead for 2 years they could be in denial, severevly retarded, assholes, hiding some dark secrect, really dont like cerberus, all i can hope is that they prove their worth in the final battle when the reaper horde shows itself.

  • is there any difference when u see the council AFTER the suicide mission? cus imma try that

  • wtf is up with miranda @ 3:38 XD

  • FUCK. THE. COUNCIL.

  • I can't wait for Mass Effect 3. The council would be getting on their knees to suck Shepard's dick, just so he can save them from the Reapers.

  • Thanks for sharing, I wondered how it went if the Council'd been saved. Since the different dialog is already there for those who import original Mass Effect characters, they ought to have let new characters' players choose this detail of our past. Alas, I understand this is to enforce the notion that the default past is the only canon one and the only one that will pass on to the next sequel's storyline.

  • what if i choose to let council to die do i meet Anderson?

  • @elfel1991 Yes, on my renegade playthrough where I left them to die he was still there. I think no matter what you do he'll be always there(damn that sounded gay)

  • @Fleabr is thier anyone here that chooses the nuteral choice when the council offers your reinstatment as a specter.

  • @Fleabr why does the council say the reaper was fake when he says they were real at me1

  • @Fleabr

    he cant quit you

  • @elfel1991 if you choose to let the council die Anderson will be there, but the council you be replaced by another group who will not see you, if Anderson is the Councilor you get your Spectre status back, if Udina is the Councilor you cant

  • i dont get whats so bad a Cerberus

  • @faithhero they will do anything for humanity. anything.

  • so glad i let them die.....

  • @datgamerboy You bastard, soulless human

  • @nAthaNkco oh come on there ASSHOLES

  • @datgamerboy How could u done that?

"Humane society reminds you that animals (Alien) are people too"

  • My Shepard was a paragon, but at this part i could not resist saying "Take your spectre status and shove it up your ass!"

  • Your Shepard is a pussy.

  • Ah, yes. "Air is good", we have dismissed that claim.

  • No, maybe you can't trust Cerberus.... But they're a hell of a lot better than the council.

  • I think what pisses me off more is that instead of just saying they need proof, they claim you're mental, easily manipulated, and in such a fragile state that they won't even look at you twice.

I'm glad I told Joker to focus on Sovereign. I'd rather lose my Spectre status than be called a mental case by politicians with their heads so deep in their ass they're too afraid to put their trust in the soldier who saved their lives.

  • @FightingWhatsNormal you have point that why I killed the council

  • HAHAHAHAH 4:50 did anderson just send udina to his room?

  • @mrst3ak yeah XD

  • this makes me glad i let them die

  • 3:40 LOL CERBERUS SHUFFLE!

  • how do you get that cool headgear that Shephard is wearing?

  • i'm surprised no one ever notices that Elcor (massive slow talking elephant thing) in the background that Anderson is watching... walks across the bridge as you start talking to him... then when you finish the same one walks across the bridge again...

  • Also,if you have decided to kill off the Council, you would not just kill the three unreasonable aliens that kept bombarding you with their stupidity, you would kill the other 10000 people that were on the Asention cruiser. That is why i could not go through with it.

  • @Deathseeker214 It's not really killing them. It's making a strategic decision to throw all of your ships at the real threat. While the crew of the Destiny Ascension is substantial, the human dreadnoughts that are ripped to pieces trying to save them probably had large crews as well. It also gives you less ships when Sovereign starts reigning hell, so it's pretty ambiguous either way on what the right thing to do is.

  • @ickyzorro Whichever decision you make,Nazara gets destroyed no matter how many dreadnoughts you have,so it is not exactly strategical. You also get a bad reputation if you let them die,as so many people in ME2 keeps throwing insults at you,not to mention the loss of your Spectre status. But i suppose it is a matter of viewpoints...

  • @Deathseeker214 Of course it's strategic. You don't know until after that fact that how many ships you had wouldn't turn the tide of the battle, in the heat of the moment no sane person would go in without all of the ships they could muster. Of course saving the Ascension would seemingly add its firepower, Bioware didn't have the resources to add that in.

  • @ickyzorro Do you have any idea how many people you just called insane...?

  • @Deathseeker214 Just for reference, I have saved the council before. I'm talking more in a role playing perspective, where it seems quite foolish to throw away reinforcements that you need against a ship that can plow through a Turian dreadnought with no consequences to speak of.

  • The Council will come around in the end,if they refuse,i am sure my gathered army of krogans, quarians, raccni and cerberus will make them "reconsider"...

  • This is when I started saying to myself "I should of let those fuckers die!" if it wasn't for Anderson getting more power I would of let them die. GOD I LOVE THIS GAME!!! I love it when a game makes me feel like that but for all the rigth reasons

  • 3:40 what the fuck? miranda is moon walking XD

  • is there unique dialouge if legion is with you?

    0:53 "AH YES REAPERS"

  • I got the Council killed in the first game, felt right but now I'm starting to wonder if I should let them live? It looks like Anderson would have an easier time on his hands.

  • What the hell is Miranda doing at 3:39 lol?

  • After beign shafted by the council at every major turn in ME1, only to cover their ass during the attack on the citadel, I was pretty pissed to get this reception.

The guy who saved them despite being refused any significant help, and repeatedly cockblocked by their own stubborn blindness, which proved to be wrong over and over again, they insisted that Sovereign was just a ship and that Saren was behind the whole thing.

My answer was SCREW YOU. Not like they were gonna help me out, anyway.

  • @Goatmon Furthermore, when Udina showed up, I straight-up told him No, I didn't just reject their offer, I shoved it down their fucking throats. And then smiled at him when he pissed himself.

  • everything around me explodes in me.....council, geth, collector's base....xD and i hate udina tooo

  • Politicians ....Manipulating the truth and making people mad since .... since .... "sigh" I give up ....

  • Well at least this council showed up...unlike the new human council.

  • wouldnt u guys think in the final game that anderson joins you and hes a bad ass that would be sweet....

  • councilor turian:"how fragile yoor mental state is"

me: hey turian fuck head get down here and say that to my god dam face bitch!

  • sheperds list of 5 peeps he dosent want to see

    5.interveiwer

    4.asari counciler

    3.salarian counciler

    2.turian counciler

    1.ambassador motherfucking udina

  • I heard you wanted to speak to me I didn't relies they'd be here too

  • wow that turians a dick

  • Who gets elected as the councilor if you choose "It's not up to me." option in the ending of ME 1?

  • @MalevolentMessiah I believe you choose the councilor when your on your way to meet the Illlusive man with Miranda and Jacob.

  • After watching the conversation between Shepard and the Three hypocritical councils makes me hope that in ME3 the councils die with the most painful, and regretting death from the reapers beyond Shepard's expectations from the reapers.

  • @jhon1284 You have to think from the Council's perspective. No evidence for the Reapers was ever found. They needed more evidence to launch the massive anti-Reaper effort Shepard was demanding of them. Now Shepard is working with human supremacists, again chasing creatures with no provable link to his boogeymen - what can they think?

Why did the Illusive Man believe Shepard's stories about the Reapers when everybody else doubted? Maybe he's found evidence that he's keeping secret.

  • @LordBifford Actually, EDI Explains that if you talk to her/it in the beginning of the game. Parts of the Normandy II actually came from Sovereign.

  • He should have brought a recording device to Virmire and Ilos... :(

  • if i could beat that turian council's ass in that game... >:O

  • i quite loyal to the council in first one so i saved them wen they said yes reapers i liek fuck u ashole now i just want the allince and cerbruas blow to bits

  • I wonder if harbinger has to convince the reaper council that shepard and the normandy exist

  • @The1AmazinAsian It must be true, obviously

  • @The1AmazinAsian Well considering Harbinger is the head of the Reapers.....

  • @The1AmazinAsian HA Nice

  • Claim dismissed

  • I can't fucking wait to shove their words up their alien asses in ME3.

  • Comment removed

  • I remember being really excited to see the Council in Mass Effect 2 "I saved their lives and proved to them I was right, they are going to LOVE ME!" Then I got air-quoted... How embarrassing.

  • should have told them to go *eff* them selves

  • 5:55 jedi mind control

  • @CellCobra Damn, lol. It didn't work. XD

  • Good Quality!

  • Even though it hurts, it may be better to save the council so the Destiny Ascention can be used against the Reapers in ME3.

  • the council wont believe till they have a million ships on there doorstep. i say drop kick to the balls for the turian, facepalm for the salarian and ass rape for the asari

  • If the Turian councilor was female, I'd say he's in his period, but he has no excuse for being displeased with EVERYFUCKINGTHING you do, no matter Paragon or Renegade.

    What IS his problem?

  • AH YES, "REAPERS"

  • I actually quite enjoy arguing with the Council. What are their names anyway?!

I can't wait to see what happens in the 3rd game with them - will the turian ever say sorry for being such an idiot? Will you end up having to save them [again?] Or will they send a new Spectre after you? There's got to be some other Spectres apart from Nihilus, Shepard and Saren.

  • You are sucker for saving those assholes.

  • I saved the council in the first game. Yet they still continue to be idiots. That's why when they offered the Spectre status, I told them to shove it up their ass.

  • It's amusing how everyone assumes that the council is being honest. Firstly, they're politicians. Secondly, Shepard is working for Cerberus and can no longer be trusted.

They're no doubt stonewalling. Probably building a fleet in secret to oppose the reapers, but there's no need to let the Cerberus lapdog know that. Even Anderson didn't tell you anything about Kaiden/Ashley, that's enough of a clue that they're hiding something.

  • Ah yes reapers... God i hope shep or garrus will be able to kick this idiot ass in ME3

  • can you do this if you didn't play mass effect.

  • I edited my save game to have the council live and i almost screamed at my tv when they still didnt believe Shepard considering wut happnd when they didnt believe him in ME1

  • I haven't tried this yet, but what happens when you choose to save the council and pick Udina as councilor?

  • It's so hard to believe that the voice actor for the salarian councel member is the same that does the voice for Andrew Ryan in Bioshock.

  • @fantasticmoose is it really the same voice? wow i didnt know that lol!

  • just when i was starting to regret letting the council get ventilated on ME1

then i saw this video.....i regret nothing

  • I hope the council will trust Shepard in ME3, because I am fucking tired of being insulted by that dumbass turian after saving the galaxy for the second time.

  • @jarpasmannen Damn straight. On the bright side, I saved the Rachni, won the respect of the Krogan, exposed the Quarian admiralty's actions to their entire fleet, preserved the Geth Heretic station, and bore witness to what was probably the first non-violent, civil interaction between a Quarian and a Geth in the last 300 years. Who need them when I have friends like these?

Though if the council are still assholes in the third game, I hope you're given the chance to personally execute them. :)

  • @jarpasmannen Dam politicians, i thought turians were warriors, maybe he failed in his childhood

  • Captian Anderson is the father we all wish we had. D:

  • Racist Turian People!

  • The guy who does the voice acting for Captain Anderson keeps popping up in games for some reason. He was Julius in the Saint's Row games and he was Sgt Foley in MW2.

  • The best thing about this scene is that Councilor Anderson is always BA, and his new outfit looks awesome. I guess nice threads are one of the perks of being one of the four most powerful people in the galaxy.

  • i never liked the council and i dont regret letting them die

  • That Turian is a smug AND obnoxious asshole.

If I get my way in ME3, that guy's gonna be the first to get capped.

This is precisely why my paragon character turned "angry bastard" this time around.

  • are the keepers a separate race or something? I'm not clear on them.

  • @AA25316 Yes, they are. As it is speculated they are probably a race that the Reapers modified(like the Protheans) so they would take care of the citadel, so that it is always functional for other races to use them, and you know the rest.

  • @Fleabr But are they some thing that would be noticed, because the first races to arrive on the citadel must have noticed them. The Protheans did, they managed to prevent the keepers from opening the relay the second time. The way Virgil(that hologram on Ilos) talked about the keepers implied that the Protheans disrupted the communications between the Reapers and the keepers.

  • @AA25316 u mean collectors

  • They never belived me so i let them die!

    They are al blind!

  • Comment removed

  • Can someone please explain this to me.

What happens when in Mass Effect 2 when you save the council and pick Udina as a council member? Please someone help me out here.

  • As I recall, Udina doesn't let you talk with the council. Not sure though.

  • Ooh. Well. I just read an article that says Udina would let you become a Spectre again. It said he also gives you messages of the people you helped on ME1

  • Fucking council. They were really starting to make me wish they'd died... until I thought a little on it. When that reporter you can SHEPARD PAWNCH confronts you about saving the Destiny Ascension, Shepard can ParagonPwn her by reciting exact statistics, including the fact that the Ascension had a crew of ten thousand. So it's not just leaving the Council to die, it's the entire crew of the Ascension.

  • I let those fuckers burn in ME1.

Watching this scene, I regret nothing.

  • @imhatepie

Just watching this pisses me off. You saved not just their lives but the lives of all life in the galaxy and they treat you like this. lol I have no regrets over the death of the council.

  • Lol! Look at Miranda at 3:39 :))

  • Screw council!

I rather sacrifice 3 retarded people then the entire human Alliance.

  • I hate that faggot turian so much.

  • How can the Council not believe in the Reapers now!? If you saved them in ME1, they admit the Reapers were real!!!

  • It's not that hard to believe that that was a "in the moment gratitude" kind of thing they werent sincere about, or they were but that after Shepard and the Normandy got owned a month later they changed their tune again. And Shepard returning doesnt mean much after 2 years and nothing else has happenned. Also shepard was the only one stressing reaper return in the Council's perspective the relay was closed so they have no other way to get back so why worry? :/

  • As much as WE hate them dude, everything they say is a rational approach and makes sense. Nothing but excuses but even Anderson admits that much (though hes always believed you)

  • @JMDub89

fear rotten the truth and minds..

  • @JMDub89 Well, they changed their minds ever after Shepard died

  • @JMDub89 they said they conince them self there a myth there utter idiots
