Hey its a well known fact that all aliens find earth women attractive so they have to be scantily clad. ^_^ You know if I were a Reptilon I don't think it would be very good to have humans build my robots, either they would make them poorly or turn them against me ijs.
For me the only way music is "inferior" is if the composer is bad since even the 2600 is capable of some rocking tunes.
I've only tried it in MAME but found EFTPOTRM to be entertaining enough, shame there was never a followup. :)
I had presumed that this would be an explore 'em up like D-Gen. With a sprite change, it would make a nice zombie survival game.
The ST has OK sound for chiptunes. Funny how the advantages of the Amiga's sound chip have diminished over time. Similar to the resurgence of collector interest in the Saturn now that the 3D capabilities of the PSX look rubbish. Back in the day it was a different story though (in both cases).
@rhydermike yeah early 3D looks pretty ugly these days. It's the textures that's the problem. I prefer flat-shaded to low-res textures. Speaking of the Saturn, like Virtua Racer. That still looks great today I think.
Heh I love chip music, especially SID (Sanxion intro may be one of my favorite pieces) They have that certain nostalgic charm... Anyway, this is cool game that I played back in teh day, since I had obsession with isometric games at that time (Darkmere, Cadaver, Voodoo Nightmare, Heimdall etc...) You actually play this better than i ever did
@crixdorius oops. I guess I showed my ignorance of early sci-fi there. My sci-fi knowledge doesn't go that far back to be honest. Star Trek is where it all begins for me. Except for Forbidden Planet, that was good too.
Looks pretty close to the Amiga version that I played, apart from the inferior music, which you would expect. Never saw the game in the arcade but there was a PCB for sale on eBay for £250! It also used a special controller - called a hall-effect joystick - for precision control. These joysticks are rare, so you're looking at £150+ for this as well.
Disabled robots 5:06, reminds me of the homeless or fat robots in Futurama, why would they build them lol?

@TheBladeJunker haha must be the evil doing of the Mom Corporation XD

This reminds me of the MAMECADE review. Ever seen it? Not saying you ‘copied’ it or anything, this game definitely deserves the attention.
eMGeeGFX 1 week ago
@eMGeeGFX, this of course being the Atari ST version (needless to say).
eMGeeGFX 1 week ago
@eMGeeGFX haven't seen that video I don't think. Or maybe I did an forgot about it and then subconsciously imitated it :P
I should check out that review in any case. I've seen some of MAMECADE's videos and they're good.

@JimPlaysGames Nobody is perfect. ;)

I never really played this game more than a couple of min. Not my style of a game. But it was a good game.
If you like this music, try the ST version of Exolon, one of my favourite games and music of all time.
Trusteft 3 weeks ago
@Trusteft cool, I'll check it out.
JimPlaysGames 3 weeks ago
@JimPlaysGames If you do, make sure it is the ST version. It has its own different music than any other version of the game. :)
Sorry to keep talking about this but I like the music and the game so much. :)

Oh I remember this. Sweet memories!!! xD

I call the ST sounds Synth loops, the C64 also has them.
You should try Hurrican. It is freeware and bloody excellent.

I think I will stick with MAME! :D

@MegaChaos79 yeah I read about those joysticks when I was looking into the game. No idea what that means though.
MAME is good enough for me, although some games are glitchy unfortunately.

So much memories from this game. Thank you for the vid. Laser pistols music was something I tended to abuse.

@InsertDiskB you're welcome, thanks for suggesting it :)

@Polaventris yeah it reminds me of Gauntlet in that way, but mostly because that's a comparison made on a page talking about the game :)
