  • When you serve in 6RAR, it's a given that you learn and understand the Battle of Long Tan. Every year on the 18th of August, 6RAR has a battalion parade and the families of the KIA and others attend. ANZAC legend lived through them that day and those men created their own legend to us at 6 and the Australian Army.

  • Such an amazing achievement for the australian armed forces but then that is to be expected from such a professional army. I think you will find they are waiting to release this film on anzac day this year. so not long yay! our diggers always make us so proud. to our boys still on foreign soil, take care i respect you all and come back to australia in one peice

  • I saw this film at the War Memorial, it was very moving. A young lady in the audience wept openly throughout the display.

  • Theres a movie called long tan coming out 2011

  • @jimmyrhondy Are you sure there is a movie about this? I know that a movie was planned but I have not read anything about it being in production and I thought that it may have been a victim of financial shortages os similar.

  • Is this available on DVD. Also thanks to all Australians who went to war.

  • Viet Nam war was meant to prepare the country for it's entry into the international UN world community striving for World Communism. French did a treasonous job by paying and arming Ho Chi Minh and unleash this animal on the poor Catholic civilian population. Anyone who has tried to stop these bastards are heroes. The only reason why you didn't succeed was you weren't allowed to succeed. Communism was supposed to win. If not by battle, than by media and propaganda.

  • ...what?

  • Where are you getting your information from herb, because your are miss informed. Ho turned to the communists because the west would not help him. The west armed the Japs to keep the locals from taking over until the French came back. If the west had told the French to rack off in 1945 then no need for war. Then this lead to insergency and all the misery. For goodness sake communism is the symptom not the disease. You are a zalot and a narrow minded one at that. Do more research.

  • propaganda videos do not disguise the fact that we had no moral right to invade poor vietnam.

  • No one is glorifying war in this short film. Why don't you go see it before making half baked comments.

  • FalseFlagAmerican... your comment is a crock ! You have demonstrated your complete lack of knowledge of the history that lead us to war in Vietnam.

A must see for any person visiting Vietnam, who is from one of the countries that fought in Vietnam is to visit the Long Tan cross. The only foreign war memorial on Vietnam soil.

You will be walking on hallowed ground. Knowing several Long Tan veterans personally, my emotions are at peak each time I visit there.

  • Saw this at the Australian War Memorial a couple of weeks ago and was moved to tears. The mixture of the battle scenes and the young soldier writing home to his mother so sad, considering so many lives lost. A must to see if you go to the AWM.

  • I need to watch this to get the gist of it. I would imagine any soldier from Delta company, 6RAR would have had far more pressing matters on his mind that writing any kind letter.

  • Maybe the cinema when it is released?

  • it only goes for around ten 15 minutes

  • no this is only a short film i think u can only see it at the war memorial

  • Hi,

This film looks very cool. Is there anywere I can view the full version?

    Thank You!
