I found it so helpful I changed the "level up skill" keys in HoN to CTRL-etc.

@opplerdop play style pref, I know a few sec diff could help, like HSGG doesn't do it often and there is a good reason for it as I remember now; sometimes you mistakenly upgrade the wrong skill if you misplace your figure(s) due to tense moments. eg- you press... 4 for a pot then you move back down quickly to upgrade but you also need to cast sometime to- gain a kill but in that moment you notice your fingers where out of position and you upgraded the wrong thing.

Your left hand, on the other hand (pun intended), is not nearly as busy. It has skills to use, but only every few seconds. The pinky finger that you would use for the control button is completely free, so that wouldn't be a problem, and the other fingers have constant breaks after you use your skills.
