There is no point, but that's entirely up to the subscribers themselves, if they don't watch any of your videos then that's their choice. I myself am guilty of that as well, I don't watch a lot of the videos the people I'm subscribed to upload, but that's because they upload nothing but Bleach and Naruto betas, so I don't see a point in watching a 30 second clip. I can easily edit a 30 second clip ridiculously well, because it hardly requires any effort.

Yep, we are all guilty of this, that's why a bunch of amv makers, like Videonoob, decided that enough is enough, and are stopping the flooding of betas on Youtube

Yeah I do have a beta uploaded, I was originally waiting for a friend to get back from Europe because I had no idea where he was getting the HQ trailer quality anime he was sending me to make it, and I never finished it because not enough people seemed to care whether I did or not.

I only have a gloomy disposition about my videos in particular because nobody seems to watch them, comment them, or rate them, nobody cares apparently. To make better videos than most the crap on YouTube all you need to do is make it on anything better than Windows Movie Maker and you're golden.
