Ok, you guys may think that this is a great piece, and it is..... NOT WHEN YOU HAVE TO PLAY IT AT 14! Especially when you got most techniques covered pretty good, but the only one you just can't get is The STACCATO! ARGHARGHARGH
@punchaloo Go suck a big one? Is that a recommendation? I figure you have more experience with that, so if you have any *specific* recommendations I'd be grateful if you shared them.
Just like with every other caprice, Mintz plays it in a rather unassuming manner - and perfectly. I prefer him to Markov, although I think Markov likely plays them more like Paganini would.
there's a very nice piano adaption of this caprice (must be by schumann or liszt, i think it's schumann) which i can't find anywhere here because i don't know what it's actually called. (-.-) help!
i ont think his sound is good in this cappricce, i've seen all the other capricces from him and this one is the only one i dont like his sound, I think perlmans one is better.
This is my favourite, but for me, I'd like slower interpretation like Perlman's. And i think this caprice has the emotions of anger and happiness at different places, too bad it's not that famous. Still, Mintz is one big talent!
if you think its his bow that allows him to play so quickly, you're wrong about that. nevertheless, he has probably owned bows that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Mainly the Pecatte bow is the choice for most soloists.
Oh my god, it is impossible. It is the fastest that i've ever seen, even faster than Ricci. PLEASE POST THE 19TH CAPRICE PLEASE PLEASE I WANT TO SEE HIM PLAYING 19...
Fantastic!!

Is there a piece of music out there that Shlomo could not play???!!!
He has done them all to perfection. I hope he composes! Perhaps giving Paganini a run for his money!
BowfireBrett 11 months ago
Perticular interpretation of that piece of art ! Stranger than Mr I.Perlman; S.M eighties's version !

Certainly a favorite caprice of mine as well and viciously hard to play well. Mintz is the man on the fiddle!

his powerful sound stands in a big contrast to his body language which is really relaxed, isn't it?
Thomascello 3 years ago 3
he actually did not. that is how it goes

By the way, did he make a little mistake at 0:35? =)

no I'm not that stupid. was just wondering about the kind of bows he has had not in relation to the video.
