Herr Schmidt should have prepared for this interview! He's not even aware of what a superstar is Jaroussky! I couldn't believe that he asked if he sang opera, & didn't seem to know what baroque was. Philippe has such a fascinating story to tell about his becoming a countertenor., & that was very interesting.

Wenn es so sein sollte, dass Jaroussky nicht vorher in einen eventuell absichtlich verpatzten Beginn durch den Pianisten eingeweiht wurde, dann halte ich dies ihm gegenüber für sehr unhöflich und unseriös.

Dass sich Herr Schmidt dadurch zu profilieren sucht, die Falsett-Töne nachzusingen, macht ihn lächerlich, denn das ist die geringste Anforderung an einen Musiker und offenbart noch keine musikalische Qualität.

Ich mag kabarettistischen Humor, aber Schmidt ist hier humorlos und arrogant.

Ich finde es unmöglich, dass die hohe Kunst, die hier von Philippe Jaroussky zelebriert wird, durch einen derart dilettantischen Pianisten unterlaufen wird, der sich verspielt wie ein Laie zu Beginn seines Klavierunterrichtes und jegliche musikalische Spannung des Beginns zerstört.

Und falls das inszenierter Humor sein sollte, ist er hier absolut deplatziert und disqualifiziert die Möchtegern-Musiker, wie Herrn Schmidt und seinen Adlatus, denn sie beweisen damit kein musikalisches Feingefühl.

Yes, I was also curious about how Herr Schmidt would treat Monsieur Jaroussky. But Herr Schmidt is really polite and - you see- he has a lot respekt for his guest . ( Besides, Herr Schmidt is an very good organist himself! )))

Thank you for the English subtitles. I enjoyed this very much. But I would disagree that a male couldn't sing Queen of the Night. I am sure there are some, maybe few, that can.

@JaRoWi1647 Well the stage is illusion. I had a desire to sing the famed aria they they talk about here but it is a tad high for me. Granted I have rarely reached that very high "F" from the aria but it isn't easy to reproduce. My vocal coach talked me out of pursuing that goal of singing this aria.

Of course, the stage is illusion and the miracle, but only when passionately knowing and well done...otherwise it would be "home made" and only for the family and close friends. )))

It is pity they were not able to prepare a professional pianist for Philippe but seems like he enjoyed it very much.

Just the beautiful, soothing, silky voice that Philippe Jaroussky displays with awesome skill in every video, recording or concert is mind blowing, and it couldn't have been too easy to sing alongside helmut :p
