  • @p0llenp0ny Similar face and voice, same timbre, different accent! Sir George speaks a mix of the clipped BBC accent of his time (which most people hear) and bits of the North London of that time he grew up in (occasionally 'oi' for 'i'); regrettably nobody talks like that any more! To me Giles sounds Estuary (the middle-class English sound today, shading into Mockney).

  • Sir George worked for the BBC for about a year before joining EMI/Parlophone in 1950. He worked in their music library department.

  • @youngfogey1 you should check out Sir George Martins first son Gregory Paul Martin. He's got a very beautiful accent and a great voice. Sadly he isn't as popular as his other family members cause he didn't go into music.
