Yeah on In The Groove, there are steps that are called "hands". Hands use either 3 or 4 panels at a time. People either use their hands to hit them or cheat them with their feet by riding the brackets.

I think it makes a bird shape because of the space in between the 4 stars. :P Of course, that's just my guess. The space between the 1st star and 3rd star would be the left wing, space between 2nd star and 4th star would be the right wing, the space between the 1st star and 2nd star would be the head, and the space between the 3rd star and 4th star would be the tail.
