  • Haha, cool stuff. I haven't really used after affects but what software are you using for the stormtrooper rig?

  • @GraphicNewb Anything you see animated on this channel is done with 3ds max. In particular though, the stormtrooper movement was produced with the havoc simulation engine. The same engine used in both Force Unleashed games. It creates a fairly realistic effect, although a bit difficult to use if you're aiming a very particular outcome- as I was here. But thanks for the support! I hope to see great stuff from you too :-)

  • Well man, here my recomendation:

    - First you should shoot the movie, and then create the trooper animation, and then import to after effects and with masks you can create an illusion of your are really cutting his parts...

  • @northmahri Hey thanks for the suggestion! I actually did composite the composition exactly as you suggested, the reason I didn't use masks in this sense was because I didn't want body parts simply vanishing, nor falling off unrealistically. But thanks for support!
