Why are people still harping on this myth? Hawaii has confirmed his birth in the US. End of story. The whole "produce an original birth certificate" thing is a smoke screen. Nobody, not even the president, should be required to share their birth certificate with the general public. The people in an appropriate position to determine his birthplace have confirmed he is a US citizen. If people choose not to believe it that's their mistake. They have yet to prove THEY are US citizens.

He was born in Hawaii. There is enough evidence to prove that, including a birth announcement from the local paper. How did he forge that? But it's not about that anyway is it? It's about doing anything to de-legitimize this guy. It is a bunch of assholes that didn't vote for him anyway and just can't handle reality.

When his mother divorced and remarried Lolo Soetoro Barack became an Indonesian citizen in order to attend school in Indonesia which was required by law.

Becoming a citizen of another country nullifies natural born citizen status and it cannot be reacquired . At best he could have applied for citizen ship upon returning from Indonesia and becoming a naturalized citizen but there is no record of that.

Why are people still harping on this myth? Hawaii has confirmed his birth in the US. End of story. The whole "produce an original birth certificate" thing is a smoke screen. Nobody, not even the president, should be required to share their birth certificate with the general public. The people in an appropriate position to determine his birthplace have confirmed he is a US citizen. If people choose not to believe it that's their mistake. They have yet to prove THEY are US citizens.

@wideawake123 I think it is possible but again hard to pull off. he would need more people to help him and the last thing he wants now is lose ends. I think he never thought that the NBC issue would continue this far. He probably figured once he was in, a few challenges he could starve off and that would be that. That this is badgering him is bad for him. He is screwed now and he knows it. Rev. manning is perhaps the closest to getting him in court. The whole thing may unravel then.

@menana2u I go to school at U of I and everyday I am confronted by the dumbest people I have ever seen. If you go outside of campus at all, my point is proven. And by the way, Champaign is 3 hours away from Chicago and those 3 hours equals a huge difference in educational standards, political standards, social standards, etc. If you went to Chicago or any town that is not in the middle of nowhere, there would never be a comment made like that by a public official while on video!
