That's why you're supposed to have son or daughter, so they can be there for you as you get older. I'm reaching my 40s and already feeling the rejection and loneliness since every gay man (such as myself) looks for younger males for relationships or company but eventually is just a wrong choice. The worst is that after you die people who never looked for you may be ready to claim part of your savings, properties and valuable items.
Thank you for this video. As a gay man over the age of 50 I struggle with the challenges of managing age. I have lived and worked in the gay community all my life and because of age I feel like an outcast, unwanted as a friend, a predator. This makes me feel the need to withdrawal as a member of a community I am my dear friends fought for during the 70's, 80's and 90's. As I aged my friends depleted due to death and insulation. This is unhealthy. We need support and more videos like this one.
It's difficult to stay connected as you age. I live in a major city and the feeling of invisibility is very common. A lot of my former friends have faded out of my life because they haven't been able to deal with the aging process. Some are seriously depressed or have abused drugs and are now a bit disconnected from the community and reality. Gay people only have the commonality of being attracted to attractive men - and as they age they become more self-conscious about expressing that.
