haha, first the key is in the knight's crotch, and now katrina is whipping the hero's crotch. this game loves the bondage and crotch shots. oh yea, and that stone pillar.
Geas A spell or curse put apron someone to make sure they fulfill their task and dont betray their master. For instance a Geas could be put upon a servant to make sure that they stay loyal or upon a mercenary to make sure they dont double cross their employee.
Failure to do so will result in the victim being killed in one way or another by the Geas
I got past the ghost finaly with that bug, however, when I went to the swamp to get one of the papers from the mad monk when I went to the screen where the stone was and the enemy it freezes up (using dos box) any ideas how to fix this or does this mean I can not finish the game?
if you've noticed....on the Mage Fight with LB's QG part 66...Ad Avis is a fire mage, while Katrina is a ice mage. She probably has only frost spells available to her...but who knows, she being a vampire and all.
An interesting fact (maybe!). In the CD "Talkie" version, the script at 9:41 was the only section that I distinctly remember was left unspoken. The reason is presumably because it is sole time in the game that anybody addresses your character by name (the name you give him at the very outset) and since all the dialogue was pre-recorded there could be no way of anticipating every individual player's choice of name! I remember it being quite a profound moment, the true beginning of the end!
Well, that geas of Katrina only shows her knowledge of the male nature. Without it, our hero would go "Now, did I put that ritual scroll into my left pocket? Or was it my right? Or perhaps in my hypothetic other set of clothes back at the inn? Oh, I'll see about it tomorrow..."
t's basically a magical compulsion, forcing someone to do (or not do, as may be the case) unless they want to suffer the consequences.
Irish legend is pretty stuffed with geasa - the well-known hero Cúchulainn for example had the two geasa of never refusing hospitality and never eating the flesh of dogs which resulted in his death when his enemies learned of them and had a crone invite him to a meal of dog meat. Having broken one of his geasa, he is weakened enough for his enemies to kill him.
Yeah, I skipped it because we've already seen too much of the gypsies, and since we already have all the rituals, she basically says "Here is the first ritual you must acquire... Except that I see you already have that one, so here's the next one... But you have that one too, so let's move on." It breaks the annoyingness/usefulness ratio that the gypsies were already dangerously close to being on the lower end of. But thanks for letting me know about it. :)
She says "bring the Dark One back into this world". "Back"? I would assume that if the Dark One is trapped between it's own world and the hero's world, then it never actually entered the hero's world. One does not go "back into" a room if all they've done is put one foot through the doorframe and stand there.

>to kill a vampire, drive a stake through its heart.
Okay, that's Step 1... but what about steps 2-10?
thegameulost 11 months ago
Just like all men... oh Katrina, who hurt you in the past?
"Agree to help" is the only option, heh. Reminds me of a certain other game's "But thou must."
Katrina does a weird singsong voice during the geas in the talkie version.
Looks like they revived the Necrotaurs at the gate too.

A wooden stake shouldn't "break" a heart, unless it's very blunt and the heart brittle.

You'd think the game would be smart enough to realize that you already have the rituals. You'd THINK.

I guess we'll soon find out.

you should refuse. maybe her more drastic measures include riding you bareback while whipping you as hard as she can.

If only. No, sorry, we can't get that to happen in this game. :(

Geas, or geis, is a spell or compulsion from Irish mythology. I believe it's pronounced "GEE-us". Then again, I ought to know. :D
