Puerto Ricans want to remain a commonwealth or become a state. They have been given options and none of their choices are to be independent. Why portray it as if they're enslaved? Also percentage wise, more puerto ricans join the US military than any other group. So clearly they don't hate America or feel enslaved. Without the US Puerto Rico would be extremely poor, extremely and even with us trying to help them, they still don't have a great economy.
