i have this phone, and yes at times it can be laggy/slow. but you can easily fix this problem by downloading a free app called advanced task killer free. because this phone has trouble closing out applications. if you feel your hero is being slow you just open the application and choose to close all programs, or just certain ones. don't let this video fool you. the htc hero is a great phone.

@seanism I heard if you turn off some of the apps running in the background, that helps speed up the processor thus, reducing the lag.

Android is an operating system that the phone works on. The phone that i believe you are thinking of is the "droid" by verizon which also runs off the android system. but no this is not the droid. It is the hero.

when you say turn your views do you mean like turn it sideways? yes you can.

The camera is better its a 5.0 megapixel camera which is extremley good for a phone.

I would say the hero is better. Sprint offers the insurance plan that would replace it if you break it somehow.

on the iphone there is no insurance plan meaning "you break it, you buy it.....again"

I have it, and beware of dust accumulation underneath the screen via entry through the top part of the metallic finished button cover. Not at all a deal breaker, but get a screen protector (I recommend ZAGG's; best on the market), and maybe a sleeve or case for it to protect it. Anyway to answer your questions, according to Sprint, they told me they currently have no immediate plans to introduce any different colors.

Yes, the e-mail is full HTML; however, understand that while the phone has multi-touch capabilities, and I only figured this out through trial and error, but it only works in features put on the phone that were made for the phone by HTC. For example, in the stock Gmail app, you can't multitouch the full HTML email you got, but if you have, for instance, an AOL/EarthLink/Yahoo!/Hotmail account synced to the phone, you'll be using HTC's email app and it will allow multitouch.

i love this phone but i think the palm pre has the best os... its the most responsive and the web browser seems way better than the hero, besides the flash for now until adobe flash 10.1 is released... for some reason im still gettin the hero lol, even though i have no problems wit the pre besides the video camera

I'm having a hard time deciding making me crazy I'm thinking camera better pic.quality on pre but hero has way better video quality,browser which seems faster and smoother than hero from zooming and whatnot but hero is not that bad at all. multitasking on pre but hero has 7 home screens which is kinda the same in a way then the keyboard pre is hardware and it does seem usable like you get use to it but hero seems VERY good but might be bad if eating hotwings my hands are all sticky right?

I've done a fair share of research and video review watching on this device, and I can say with confidence that this was one of the least informative, most drawn out review I've seen. I'm pretty impressed with the "blah blah blah" functions. Dude, if you're going to review the phone's software, review the phone's software.
