I don't think the color has much to do with it hun. It's sort of just...ugly. It would have been better you use the upper part of the shirt which is already shaped how you need it to be, and would have created a far more structured shrug, and would have wasted LESS fabric.

why not make a cute bolero or something by cutting the shirt a couple inches under the sleeve seam? That would fit well, and it's a no-sew! (unless you would want to seam the bottom)

Sweetie, I HAVE done diy videos and gotten bad comments. I find that it's better for the artist to get the criticism that they need to hear so that they don't keep making things that people don't want to wear. I'm sorry if I offended anybody, but the pattern did not flatter her form, she didn't even tailor it to herself correctly, AND the color made her turn yellow. I give her points for trying, but the pattern just wasn't very good.
