Ford in the UK will *NOT* honour the warranty if you alter the car from standard. Any changes to the air filter such as a foam or worse still, a K&N type, will cause serious damage to the engine. They DO NOT filter the air. The paper one is already far bigger than it needs to be and has a surface area 13 times greater than the one advertised. The paper one passes far more air than the car uses at full RPM, but it is FILTERED. This upgrade will shorten the life of the engine quite a bit.
I am all for this car - it is VERY much needed. I think its a total joke that Ford have decided not to make a new shape ST. They said some nonsense about how there wasn't a market for it. Hello...have they seen how many mk6/mk6b STs there are out there. I see at least one every time I'm out in my car. Also had a shot of driving one. Such a great wee car to drive, but deffinately needed a bit more power. a 180 - 200bhp Fiesta is needed badly to slaughter the Renault Clio (which it would easily).
Is that the Fiesta ST with the 'tuning pack' for a better word? I haven't no. I drive a Ford Focus ST mk2. Love it, but would happily go back to a Fiesta in the future with something like this on sale. Would be nice to get 30+mpg again :-P
no, i meant a clio 182 with cup pack, its a very good car. would be hard for ford to beat renaultsport atm with all the cars that renault are producing.
I don't like the old Clio - horrid car. But the latest one, the 197, is in my opinion probably the best of the current supermini hot hatches. And I agree, Ford DO need to do a lot more. I reckon this new Fiesta could easily handle 200bhp. Infact I reckon the old one could too - they both have the chassis for it. Its whether Ford will have the sense or not. The new Megane RenaultSport looks like it will be fantastic too - still wouldn't buy it though.
Had my upgrade done a few weeks ago and still running the car in. Had a little race with an EOS 2.0 turbo at the traffic lights the other day and was pleasently suprised conidering ive only put 1200 miles on the car. Cant wait til its run in properly

Ford says never... although there is a new 1.6 turbo engine coming, dont be suprised if it finds its way into the fiesta, expect 180+bhp.
