Love is a quid pro quo. Something for something. He's tricky to interpret though because there is genuine love (very loaded statement), but he's not the type to put this on a pedestal. He would rather just blast people for the love they really showed. The dualistic love. The lustful love. The selfish love. The "give me something" love.
