  • this is awesome, but when i compressed my file, the video is very bright, anybody knows why?

  • cheers mate :D

  • thanks man

  • Xvid inst on the list. .help?

  • Doesn't work for .mkv files. :(

  • Thank you for the great tut! Although I did not like the quality, so I bumped it up a bit, its now only 200 mb (from 2gb!) and is still high quality! You should change it to about 10k bitrate and have it at the highest audio setting, it won't affect the MB by much (the low quality was about 35 mb, the high quality vid was about 200mb, only 130mb for a much better video)

  • this video actually saved my life with a late college assignment, thank you :L

  • ok, i get this message that says, cant use, opened in other program

  • thnx for this tutorial now i can upload videos faster!!!

  • Thanks man.

  • Thank you it works

  • Thank you

  • Thankyou So much

  • Thankyou SO MUCH it works now i can upload as much as vid i want

     God bless you !

  • hmm i'm doing this but it's making the file bigger instead of smaller

  • It says it doesn't support my file type Windows movie file :(

  • Very helpful! Thank you very much.

  • but the video came in such a bad quality :(, do you know how to fix that?

    found xvid btw :D

  • @IronPixeI You can fix it by modifying the quality settings. I recommend anywhere from 5000-10000 for some nice quality video, and it wont add much to the video size too, and if you want good sound, put it at the highest setting or second highest (320, 255 i think) and it will only make the total file size a bit larger (150~mb) I had a 35 mb video from this tut, modded it a bit, now 200mb and is high quality! hope this helps!

  • I did download xvid from .org but it still doesn't show up in the list -.-

  • thanks!!! its really compressing from 600 megabite to 212 great thanks!!! god bless

  • I so needed this! Im now compressing so I haven't checked the quality but it predicts the file end up as 167mb! A huge improvement on 1.88GB!!!

  • to anyone who is going to download xvid, make sure you go to xvid.org and not xvid.com because the .com download will attempt to install adware called clickpotato

  • ugghh format factory is way better then any other

  • @thefunnybone3319 man I already downloaded it !! (format factory ) but when i edit mys video it becomes about 450mg!!! what I have to do please recomment thanks:)

  • It is impossible to compress video without losing quality. You can come close to it, but you lose quality no matter what.

  • This was really good. I used DivX codec that I had installed for CamStudio compression, but this was the first time I was using VirtualDub and your instructions were very clear. Thanks!

  • Thanks this really helped alot for fraps files

tnx for this video...it really helps me a lot.

btw, can you pls recommend me a 3gp converter software that won't lose the video quality as well as its audio?? your urgent response is highly appreciated =)

  • @Michze90s Thanks for your support. 3GP is highly compressed video format specially made for cell phone use. It doesn't matter which software you use, it will look bad.

  • @virtualtweak I see...well, tnx for responding my comment =)

  • @virtualtweak Im having problems with this, with xvid installed, when i go to find AS @L5 it shows extra things such as MPG4 and ASP and SP

  • How to improve craps quality

  • Thank You, it worked fine for me too. My original file was a DV format 720 x 576 SD video, = 996Mbytes the Xvid format video is under 64Mbytes and it sounds and looks great.

I had messed about with VirtualDubs settings for quite a while before finding your tutorial and then it was 'plain sailing'.

  • unable to solve this quest

  • when i go to compress th audio under MPEG Layer 3 there are no options for me to select on he right side...22kilobyts stereo sound

  • Great tutorial, thanks - very simple to use software and compressed by 600MB screen recording down to 12MB.

    Excellent tutorial, thank you!

  • thx a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thx a lot u really helped!!!XD

  • Thanks a lot!

  • what happens when you compress a video file? does it lower the quality?

  • @NeouxTW The quality stays the same, but the space of the movie (like 200 mb) will be compressed and will be less after the compression :D

  • @NeouxTW usually, but this just decreases the size of the video.

  • I'm looking for paint. Nah just kidding. Nice tutorial, you helped alot!

    Cheers

  • 1:50 when i do this i dont have any of the options on the right. how do you get it

  • i'll try this

  • would this work with a .VOB file?

  • Or you can just go to your desktop, create a new compressed (zipped) folder, and drag and drop your video file into it. lol

  • On second try it works! Thanks alot!

  • xvid doesn't work for windows 7,help?

  • What format do you change VirtualDub to if it comes up as a zip file? o.O

  • @RyanOrtonLynch THATS BASICALLY IMPOSSIBLE without losing any quality

  • @RyanOrtonLynch Thats gotta be BullShit 1.6gb to 4mb yeah whatever.

  • @BackDoorGaming

that is possible but it would be hardly viewable it would be extremely pixelated
