Obama isn't sending in more troops yet, because the Afghan government under Hamid Karzai is accused of electoral fraud and not supported by the country's people at all. So if we send in more troops it worsens the situation because we are seen as propping up a corrupt government.

The hospital can't just throw out money like that and as result they raise the prices and fees for the services they offer so it gets passed down to the end consumer.

Rather than health care reform, I'd like to see health care insurance reform and medical malpractice tort reform first which I believe would greatly lower costs.

The $6 charge isn't just for the aspirin pill, its for the nurse who comes into your room hands it to you with the cup and water and makes sure you swallow it. If you bring your own aspirin to the hospital and take it yourself, they can't legally charge you the $6. There is a specific medical billing code associated with that "$6 aspirin".

If you have any doubt as to the efficiency of the government-controlled health care system and you think that it will be "quality" health care as described in this video, then you should spend time sitting in a Veteran's (V.A.) Hospital or any Indian Reservation hospital. I have at in both and it is one of the worst, least efficient, hopeless places that I've ever had the opportunity to sit. I say opportunity, because it really opens your eyes to the idea of the evils of socialized healthcare.

With Universal Health Care waiting room times will increase exponetially. I work in health care & some of the hospitals in our area already have 24+hr ER waiting room waits. What do you think will happen when everyone has to go to the ER because the waits to see your normal PCP are several weeks because now everyone can go to the doc for the slightest bit of discomfort. I would guess close to 80% of the people we see in the ER are for non-emergent ailments like the common cold...
