  • She was one of the all time greats. I saw her in person in '68. She was with the Bob Hope USO tour at Utapao Airfield in Thailand.

  • The coolest female vocalist with style and grace.

  • great singer and style awesome dusty your the best

  • Where has Burt Bacharach, Quincy Jones & others who had created beautiful music gone? No wonder we cant find songs like this anymore.

  • my favorite singer of all time. always will be, no matter what.

  • Where has this class of woman gone to.

  • Good song !

  • THERE'S MORE CLASS,COMPOSITION ETC.THIS A SONG WHICH YUOU CAN CALL "MUSIC"...NOT TRASH. YES "DISPOSABLE", AND "DONE ON THE LO" SOUNDS.

  • no truer word,s were spoken RT8001

  • sorry 890slav elvs was good but this lady,s voice was far better than his

  • yes there is normbrettamod but thhe only ones today worth anything are celtic women and celine seion. But the rest dont,t have class talnent elgance and never will. All you have now is filithy sicking rap bongle from the jungle noise and hick music. the 50,s 60,s 70,s 80,s were the best when class talent elgance ruled. Not the junk it is now and filth

  • This is lame, the KING's version is the real game. Elvis you were (still are one of) the best!

  • brings tears to these old eyes ... wonderful voice, beautiful heart. rip dusty

  • THE best British female singer, EVER. end of.

  • I actually appreciate her more now that I did back then. Guess I didn't know just what a treasure she was. Such style and power in her voice. She was my dad's favorites as well, and when I hear this it reminds me of him. He passed away last year at 88 years old. Thanks for posting.

  • A big part of my teen years, perhaps some of todays female artists take a leaf out of her book.

  • Her soul was in her songs....so beautyfull...with love from Annet for Dusty in Heaven....

  • no truer word,s were spoken rtt8001 excepy for celtic women group celine deion and dustynurse ad elgance

  • @sophie1065

let me guess, these are musicians YOU like?

  • I just noticed that Dusty's dress in this video looks like the dress Sailor Moon wears whenever she's having subconscious flashbacks of her life on her Moon planet. Maybe the creators drew inspiration from Dusty Springfield!

  • Great, Great, Great. Wonderful Song..

  • What sort of voice does she have? Is it mezzo soprano? I know little about musical terms, but Oh god, I love this woman!!

  • @reginaDeviant Yes, I think she's probably a mezzo soprano, but has about a 3 octave range. She could sing the male (baritone) part in Mockingbird and some of her high notes are in the soprano range, top C or D. As well as range, she had many different tones in her voice - all perfectly integrated - and a kind of muscularity at times which is part of her fascination.

  • @Nicklas4500 3 octaves? That's impressive. Didn't Roy Orbison have 4? Like Dusty- every word of his was as clear as a bell. But I digress- thanks for the info. She is indeed a fascinating person.

  • Yes. I like very much. HAaaaaaa.

  • nice song i never knew english people have song like this i thought its all about hip hop

  • @dQuSselmavi Pino Donaggio wrote it as "Io non vivo senza te" and Dusty Springfield heard it to create the English language and probably definitive version

  • hmm, this song is what i feel like sending to everyone i know.

  • a legend simple as that

  • ok pal

  • fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!

This song wasn't made from Dusty Springfield or other people like Elvis Presley, this song was made from Pino Donaggio...

Probably you think who is Pino? Pino is probably one of the best song-writers in the Italy on sixties.

If you don't believe me, you should listen "io che non vivo senza te", the original song in italian.

Bye and remember Italy is one of the best place in the world!

  • @soloanni6070 Well let your underwear go into knots over this. It wasn't made from or for Dusty. Dusty recorded it in English at her rendition is loved by all. I hope Pino can take it better than you.

  • Witness, I'm in Auckland, where it's now 4-30pm, (DST) Thursday, 20 October 2011. Should I allow for DST when The End comes? Just wondering. See you the day after Doom Day? Hope you don't pull your vids. I really want to hear your excuses, to see if they're as lame as the ones you trotted out after the non-event of 21 May 2011. LOL

  • I don't live in the past, but I often visit. It's like she's singing to me...and I melt like butter.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Agreed! :)

  • Dusty..You don't have to say it..We do miss you and your terrific talent

  • class

  • OMG I got goosebumps and shivers. I still love her.

  • Wouldn't it be nice if x factor would find a Dusty Petula or Sandy

  • I will always love this song

  • Unquestionably one of the best songs/vocal performances of all time - ranks with Petula Clarks's Downtown, Karen Carpenter's Close to You and a few select others. Song and rendition is both inspiring, enthralling and emotionally draining. Stands the test of time. Sorry, no other rendition is close.

  • The version of Elvis is the best EVER!!!!! KING

  • is it possible to clone Dusty?

  • Dear Dustynurse and RTT8001: you guys are soooooooooooooo right. I get the chills every I hear this song. She was so wonderful--a pure talent!!! I love her too!

  • Dear Dustynurse and RTT8001: you guys are soooooooooooooo right. I get the chills every I hear this song. She was so wonderful--a pure talent!!! I love her too!

  • Yes, I loved her voice from the 60's and she still is great to listen. A song from her first album I remember, I wish I'd never loved you has not been found anywhere. She was wearing a red checkered blouse on the cover.

  • i like it

  • They should do movie about her and Reese could play her.

  • @rmtmiller luvs reese, and this is not a dis' , but i think they would have to round that sharp chin of hers a little, in order to play dusty springfield in a movie.

  • lol i thought it was black and white

  • Her voice and style were magnificent. I hope she found comfort and happiness in her personal life

  • Her voice is a gift from the heavens

  • A diva doesn't have to be a bitch. Thanks Dusty!

  • she was something special :)

  • GREAT ARTIST !!!WHAT A TALENT AND VOICE / UNMATCHED / WE NEED MORE IN THIS DAY AND AGE OF THE SAME. LOVE HER MUSIC.

  • Big hair, great voice

  • love her! 55 people have no taste.

  • the 60's when women acted like ladies

  • I have the frissons....this song isbeautifulst

  • God, I love this woman.

Once upon a time there was real class and style in music and not just disposable trash appealing to a sewer mentality.

  • @RTT8001 I couldn't say it better myself -

  • @RTT8001

ah, so if i'm a fan of dusty springfield and countless other pre 21st century musicians but like some of this "disposable trash" today, i have a sewer mentality? taste in music is one of the most ridiculous things to insult each other over. really.

  • Amazing vocals indeed, she was amazing indeed.

  • that was an old italian song............so beautiful.

  • I was a kid who appreciated her when i was 10... love her more today, 17 years later!!!

  • it wasn't me who changed but you..........

  • Perhaps the best female vocal of all time...

  • FANTASTIC

  • What a voice and what beauty for a 17 year old boy to look at in '67... lol

  • A rare gift of voice. Only an angel can sing like that.

  • Legend in her own right

  • Listened to this over, and over back in the 60s.....still love Dusty.....RIP....suzi

  • One of her best--thanks!

  • fab. xx

  • Hermoza ella y Hermoza canción THE BEST! =)

  • Adele is right up there with Dusty.

  • this song should be reinstated in the 500 greatest songs of all time it should never been dropped

  • I love the way she uses her hands.

  • Amazing vocal!

  • R.I.P.

  • She was my idol... I copied her hair and eye make up... I wanted to sing like her, too, but ... forget that... What a voice... This video is a gift...

  • it's a cover guys, of the italian song IO CHE NON VIVO

it's nice in this version, but i prefer the original one, even if usually i think that english is a language more suitable to singing

  • dusty springfield was the queen of the sixties, she was a sheer performer, not like todays pop stars .Her voice was unique, her style and class was the best, she sung songs with such conviction and put her heart and soul into her songs, she made a huge impact on the sixties and indeed until present day, such a wonderful talented lady who will never be forgot! she will live on forever in her records! So sadly missed by fans of all ages around the world. R.I.P dusty the queen of pop

  • @zoryada I love n Feel this Song too, ain't found the rest yet though lol Congrat's u have :) Brings alot of memory for me this song. She was a true Queen an could sing as I said without enhancments or special effects like most today. She was an still is truly Unique an Dusty was before my time, for me I wish there was this standard today. It's mostly booty call an special effects or help from instruments now I don't disrespect the artists but ''SOME'' of there so called talents with ''SOME'':)

  • did anybody notice shes wearing a different dress after 2.15

  • @miloman51 Nope, don't see it. She's wearing the same dress from start to finish :)

  • This is better then the songs now.I spent 16 hours in the car driving to Canada listening to the oldies but goodies!

  • their will never be another dusty she was fab

  • also they had alot less distractions then, ya know no internet, no computers,no Ipads, no cell phones so they were able to spend

alot more time creating music, plus, the music industry wasn't as

concerned about musicians creating songs on a time schedule, nowadays

ev1 tries to get the next big hit out as fast as they can for fear of

losing their "SPOT" in the music limelight, basically?? today's music

has become more of a competition then an art form

  • Anyone else looking for those Dusty Springfield loving monks? =D

  • @HungryLikeT3hW00t

I saw them, well doubles of them :)

  • Darn, I was second year at Buenavista High School and and having cold and fever..

The voice is etched in my mind, I did not know that it was Dusty Springfiled..

  • AAHHH, Dusty performing in her prime. It doesn't get any better than this. She pulls this off live so effortlessly that it's almost freaky.

  • 1 of my favorites, and Janis, Grace & Dusty didn't have to sing in their underwear!

  • Pure genius, greatest female vocalist of all time.

  • Dusty..we miss you and your exceptional talent..There are so few with talent today..they get by with crazy costumes and stupid antics..no real talent..God I miss the sixties..take me back to those better times..May you R.I.P.

  • Again, my 3rd grade teacher appearing on youtube. Attack of the 50 foot woman. eeeeeeeegghhhaaaaaddds...... LOVE IT.

  • British singers are the best in the world ie: Dusty Springfield , Sandie Shaw , Petula Clark , Julie Andrews.

  • No, nobody can do it like Dusty Springfield!!

    This was HER SONG!!

  • everyone went to the dances!! oh what fun!! these where the songs we loved too... and then drove home sing to them on the radio... ;) loved your voice Dusty , everyone wanted to sing like her. God bless you Dusty, RIP...

  • She used Adorn Hair Spray! back then we were much happier then today Hairspray and all :)

  • God, we miss you, Dusty! Beautiful, beautiful woman!

  • Dusty had this signature voice that was part of 60's culture. It was sincere and raw. Dylan, Johnny Cash and a host of others weren't killer singers, they were and are expressionist and trend setters.

  • 51 people don't understand that they don't have to say they love Dusty.

  • How weird.

I find this version better than Elves'.

  • There's a great NEW book on Dusty: 'The Invention of Dusty Springfield - Scenes From a BritPop Icon'. It's a fun read and a tribute to 'our' Dusty. Available on Amazon.com.

  • Dustys Version is no.1 than elvis's is no.2

  • Just you to know, this song is a cover of

Io che non vivo senza te, by Pino Donaggio

  • 50 people are just deaf

  • I share a Birthday with her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A gentleman friend of mine was a huge fan of hers.Between that and the mandolin lessons he was taking, maybe he was trying to tell me something.

  • this Is one of my favorites!!

  • I love Dusty so much.. She s pure talent and class. Her voice is just so amazing. I see some of her in Adele...

  • @MrStefanNB - Wow, you're right. When I first heard Adele, she reminded me of someone. Then I didn't think about it again. But that is it! Dusty. I had this 45 back in the day and played it so much I nearly drove my parents wild. Well, I'm sure they thought it was a wonderful song, but perhaps they didn't want to hear it 18 times in a row.

  • Ms. Dusty Springfield is one of the most iconic singers of her time. This song and "Wishing and Hoping" are among some of her definitive songs, meaning when you think of these songs, you only think of her as the original singer.

  • i know i've heard this song somewhere ...maybe, when i was a baby ..haunting

  • hope you know how much you're missed -- Love Always --

  • rip love this lady

  • One of the best love song which can even melt the stone colds ......... May her soul rest in peace.♥

  • know thats a voice there is NO female singers that could match today any were

  • @ammisty thre is only one dusty rip

  • Still the one...the best versions of all...she's smiling up there..

  • Thank you very much for the video.

I remember the first time I heard the song was at my friend, Ann Wang's home at

Waterloo Hill, Kowloon, Hong Kong back in 1960's. It was sung by Grace Chan, a all girls' band.

  • The Best of all time...

  • The world is a poorer place without Dusty Springfield singing to it.

  • I grew up with her and only now do I really get it.

  • what a lady what a song....

  • It's Difficult For Me To Watch Dusty, Knowing That She Is Gone.

I Still Have All Of Her Records.............rip

  • no one can touch this.. this is pure perfection..

  • So awesome....this one always reminds me of 'Nam...man, it gets to me

  • A beautiful song. Sung at the time by a beautiful young woman. i'm one of many thousands who think back to those days and wish that life could have taken a different turn or two along the way.

  • im glad my parents raised me on this kinda music!

  • I've love this song for years and I just love this version. Absolutely love Dusty and her style.

  • Gone are the great female balladeers, along with the good women of a gone era!..To think i was just 11 years old when i first heard this song!

  • could not agree with raymondo more, well said

  • class.................. love it.xxxxxxxxxxxx

  • 48 people dosent know what the real music is i tell you that

  • Perfection :)

  • Fantastic !! fanastic !!! fANTASTIC

  • For me Dusty and Elkie Brooks are the best from the U.K.

  • Dusty was great! This is her song

  • As far as female singers, Dusty is one of the top ten ever. Gladys, Aretha, Ella, Whitney, Stevie, Billie, Etta, Joan, Dionne, and Dusty.

  • all you can say is WOW! What a voice what a song!

  • I think the 60's are to blame for the holes in the OZONE,with all that hair spray lol :) . Anyways Love Dusty what a queen n she had a voice that could truly sing n never needed special effects or help from instruments like most do today!.

  • @100percentbabeLOL hahahaha u're right..hairstyle in the 60s really needs a lot of hair sprays

  • @100percentbabeLOL So agree...back to the future anyone?

  • @motney555 TY :)

  • @100percentbabeLOL Ditto, lol

  • @100percentbabe..LOLOLOL..love your remark about hairspray and ozone..

  • What a songstress - Love Ya Dusty!!

  • Awesome!

  • How could anyone not like this song and Lu Lu's, To Sir With Love?

  • sod Elvis remake-Dusty is real class, not so-called rockstar singing with about

10 half pound beef-burgers stuck down his gut, which Elvis sounds like when he did remake of this classic track

  • Dusty Moves Her Arms Like A Dancer Does-Sarah Brightman Moves Her Arms The Same Way!

    DDUSSSTTTYY****Sorry That You Left Us!

    God I Loved Her!
