  • amazing sonic explossion

  • i love them

  • that gtr round his neck is probably plugged in for the feedback...genius

  • @seifukusha this is not a live performance. they are miming to playback.

  • drum kit 's way too complex , needs less clutter . i mean how you possibly use all those drums

  • while i can barely imagine the repercussions of being a baby reared on JMC, i can appreciate the obvious baby sitting qualities of william's soft mellow lullabyesque guitar...alas, i was too old to have experienced this, or rather my father was. but as an adult i have crashed to these guys many times, tho usually darklands

  • @worldstallestdrummer

I love to listen to 'Psychocandy' before I go to sleep, especially 'Sowing Seeds'....there is quite a lullaby feeling to a lot of the songs on there....awww...!

  • @ariellevonglitz

yeah, sowing seeds.... since high school, and all those nights of not falling asleep soon enough, this song often comes to me mind. It's so pretty and haunting;)

  • haha... "Live".

    JIM...

  • not just because everyone says oh my god JAMC is so fucking brilliant they made the best noises on earth they were so ahead of their time means they are a great band come on those who pretend to like this just because it makes them feel aesthetically different and important start thumbing down this comment

  • what would i be if i could be free??

  • What a beautiful NOISE...JIM looks so sexy WILD!!!

  • @karziflora

    I couldn't agree more!

  • ....attitude...bad hair.....welcome to the birth of indie....

  • me mate jimmy wiz the sound guy on this he wiz a bit pished you know and he had a huge fish supper

  • Flipping aweful! This staion is conducting a test of the emergency broadcasting system...

  • a beatiful noise

  • It's nonlip-synching lip-synching. Still...I just like them.

  • MBV mixed with a little sonic youth noise and toss in some beach boy's good time's surf's up type O sound and you got these dude's crafting some good time's for the audience.......oh yeah to nogomet66.. I AM a loser and PROUD to be LOST...

  • You got the chronology wrong. MBV did sound a little like TJAMC around the Ecstasy & Wine era, then moved on, focusing on Kevin's ingenious combination of his use of the tremolo arm, guitar tuning & the reverse reverb effect. SY never relied on feedback but 'treated' guitars instead. In fact, they made fun of TJAMC around 1985 by playing sped-up tapes of their songs live. Then there's the 'Under the Influence of TJAMC' joke on the 'Master Dik' EP. Looks like they were sick of the comparisons.

  • Superb!! Belgians should be treated with indifference at every opportunity!

  • @nogomet66 Dude... lame

  • @sonictrasher Don't get so upset. Ever heard of irony?

  • they so didnt give a damn but did in a strange way like iggy or the velvets

  • .. tee hee..go home ya loser get off the stage HA ! ! ..they don't care..ha.

  • I think you'll find that it's YOU who's the loser, matey!

  • he wasnt even singing! i like their sound im suprised he didnt just sing

  • Douglas was laughing

    great !!

  • to have the balls to subject your audience to a guitar in a state of perpetual out of tune feed back masking a beautiful melody is pure genius

    i love JAMC

    thanks gabsecondseansnookerspepear

  • Ah! Sweet feedback....

They don't make 'em like they used to...

  • Bored Jim. It would suck to have to pretend you're playing your own song.

  • FUCK THE PISTOLS...COCK ROCK

  • yeah mate but a lot of bands mime on these tv shows as the soudbn isnt that good for the studio. And for the pistols theyre good and so are the mary chain

  • You think this is actually live? It sounds like the vocals are double-tracked, there are at least 3 guitars going, & someone manipulating feedback, a digital delay, echo, etc... because they're miming to their record!!! Ever seen these guys live? They couldn't even tune their guitars, & Jim Reid never, never even touched his anyway!!! (Maybe I said it before, can't be bothered to go & check old comments, nonetheless I liked these guys' first 2 albums)

  • I never said this footage was live at all!. I was pointing out why bands do not play live on certain shows! Mabye you should have been bothered to read my comment before replying.

  • No, it's you who should read your comment: "...a lot of bands mime on these TV shows... as the sound isn't good for the studio (? What studio?)The Pistols are good, and so are The Mary Chain" (punctuation & capitols courtesy of myself) implying Jesus & The Mary Chain here are live, as The Pistols never mimed anywhere as far as I know... Besides, the phrase at the start of my answer has a question mark, if you know what that means... And anyway, what's your point?

  • For fuck sake calm down you knob if you HAVE watched any bands on more pop orientated shows the bands do mime. On others such as later with Jools Holland they play live. Now it doesnt take away from the mary chain that they mimed on this show. I only gave one theory on why certain bands do mine on tv shows

    you cheeky arrogant fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Calm down? You're the one using the expletives, not me. Pop acts are not musicians, of course they mime, what else could they do? R&R is another story. This is a total non-argument. You can't even make this simple distinction & I'm the 'knob'? You gave a 'theory'? What is this, physics? Anyone would seem arrogant to you since you talk about what you seem to know nothing about. I suggest you start with learning how to exchange views with others without insults, 'cos you're only insulting yourself

  • this is in playback. you can see it when jim (or william?) stops singing towards the end but the vocals keep going.

  • Great music. My dad used to put on their album 'psycho candy' when I was a baby to put me to sleep. no kidding.

  • Hahahaha!

  • mae me muero de envidia, que daria por estar oyendo esto desde mi primer dia de nacimiento

  • That's probably the best idea I've ever heard. I'm going to do that when I have children.

  • you're dad is amazing!

    babies love feedback. :)

  • WOW the '85 tour... unfortunately i was too young..

  • consider yourself fortunate if you missed the mid-80's

  • ...i agree with you, except for jamc and a few other things.

  • Right on the button there. Mullets!, crap american films and stadium rock like Huey Lewis & Springsteen. Thank the Lord for the Mary Chain and the cocteau twins

  • i sense a bit of anti-american sentiment in this little post, avalyn5. there were crap british films too, mate. Thank the Lord for the Mary Chain, but we should also thank 2 shoegaze/post punk/noise rock/electro psychobilly pioneers called Suicide, who were Americans. Filthy Americans. And Springsteen covered "Dream Baby Dream" by those filthy Americans 'cause he's f-ing awesome. Toodles.

  • and My Bloody Valentine

  • I agree with you totally fommydyst. apart from JAMC and very few other bands keeping proper R'n'R alive, the mid 80's music stank! I Know, cos unfortunately I was in my teens then. lol. Funny how these bands I followed, are held in great reverence now, but ignored at the time. Whereas the crap that was in the charts is largely forgotten.

  • it´s the 85 tour...

  • incredible footage!...never seen that!...very very great!.

  • they're lip synching.

  • Well yeah, point made by William not playing his guitar and Jim wandering off mid way through a line.

  • strokes o interpol no tienen nada que ver con los mary chain. tal vez las fachas, la actitud, pero de sonido ellos son más joy division o garage 60's. velvet underground es un referente más certero pero no más exacto. este show es un insulto a aquel público. but who cares, they are awesome!

  • dandydias - thats an understatement... these rehash buzz bands are shit.. though JAMC are the 80s Velvet Underground

  • this song it's better than fucking interpol and strokes' albuns together...

  • This isn't live sound. It's just a roughed up version of the album track. Listen - all the feedback is in exactly the same place - totally impossible live. I've seen JAMC live three or four times back in the day and they were awesome and very unpredictable.

  • Excellent. The feedback comes through well. Great memories. Thanks.

  • great - but if you havent watched the north london poly gig riot its an awsome insight into the band

  • Nice one ! Never seen this before xxx
