  • I came across several mantra of Great Compassion. I believe one is called the Nilakantha dharani, while another one is called Maha karuna Dharani. They seem to be both in Sanskrit, but have different in length containing similar phrases.

It would be very helpful if somebody could enlighten me on this. :)

  • The Celestial Buddha of Infinite Compassion also known as Avalokiteshvara takes several forms. The female manifestation is known as Kuan-Yin in China, Tara in Tibet, and Kwannon in Japan.Tibetans believe The Dalai Lama is one incarnation. Buddhism is not a religion which believes in actual dieties. This and all other Celestial beings are representations of human consciousness and spiritual states. The ideas of Pure Lands and Hells are also mental states. "With our minds we create the world"!

  • Nhocazn ...

Some of the English words in Religions - especially - Buddhism I still not have the same depth as I'm in Viet/Chinese.

However, if you have not read the book - "DEATH Intermediate State and Rebirth in Tibet Buddhism" By the Great LATI Lama RINBOCHAY & Prof. Jeffrey Hopkins

You should look for the book and read a few paragraphs when you have time. The Book was 1st Pub. in 1979

  • Nhocazn là người trong gia đình Phật Tử ,... can you still read tiếng Việt ? Ở quận 3 /District 3 có Pagoda Vĩnh Nghiêm; I used to go in there in the Evenings; thắp hương / started up incense sticks. Then when the chance to have gone to Tay Ninh - where there Thanh That Cao Dai located ... I had a vegetarian diet / ăn chay until I left VN.

The Pagoda/Shrine were built in 1930 - I missed the place. But I guessed, Paradise is in your TÂM,

  • Đúng như vậy. nhocazn là một phật tử người việt. nhoc có thể đọc và viết tiếng việt nhưng có thể sai chính tả ất nhiều. Suongthushi hiện giờ cón cò an chay hay không? Đúng thế tâm an vui thanh tịnh đâu cúng thấy đẹp và an vui.

Nam Mô A Di Đà Phật.

  • good afternoon Sunday Nhocazn

bên nay gia dinh va ba me - ăn chay 10 ngày trong tháng; Trời ở đây lạnh, thiếu nắng nên không ăn được rau cải tươi như ở V N ///

But there are more than one practices in Vegetatian Diet. Including the spices things, our family don't make them a favour; only when there are dinners with friends relatives.

Take care, we will talk more about - The Temples in Tay Ninh and Places we have been before - In Vietnam

  • this is not the full version. search nilakantha dharani for the full one.

  • nhocazn - I used to go the Chua Phat and Knelt down ... listen to Chu Dai Bi

My Grandpa used to take me to the Thanh That Cao Dai - and I would meditate by looking at the Picture of Phat ... and listen to the Bell (Chuong chua) ... this is a nice song / Lyrics made the Chu become so easy to remember ... I used to recite this one in Viet Version all the boyhood - school ...

    Thank you

  • thank you for sharing, I hope you still go to temple. May there will always be peace and happiness in your life and life of your family, relatives, friends.

  • Does anyone know a good book that teachs buddism(in English). I really want to learn.

  • Buddhism Plain and Simple by Steve Hagen is the best I've read. Kinda involved, I just recommend that the 1st read-through be non-stop. Questions that you have will be answered further along, almost within pages. If not then re-read. He strips it right down to the absolute core of buddhism, the differences one sees are cultural, not in the practice of the way. Gassho

  • goto a buddhist temple and see a monk, they will guide the way.

  • It's very nice to see someone who believed in buddha as early age as ur. I'm impressed and keep up with the buddha's song. I enjoy this one the most, thanks.

  • Thanks for watching. May you be protected and bless always by the Buddhas of 10 directions.

    Namo Amitabha

  • Beautiful for meditation.

  • I hope it helped and you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching

    Namo Amitabha

  • hi nhocazn, may i know what version of this great compassion mantra song? i very like to hear this version, thank you.. Namo Amitabha

  • Yap, all are the same buddism, no matter what kind of different language user, just like a tree growing plenty of leafs, leafs came from trunk, the tree of the body only one, the language just like a leaf, :)

  • I'm learning tibetian, pali and sokka nichiren mantra now, the most hardest mantra is sanskrit, namo amitabha.

  • do you have lyric of Compassiong Mantra ?

If you have , give me a whole lyric.

    Thanks

  • nice! thanks for the nice video! May the power of avalokiteshvara liberate all sentient beings! Anyways, did you know that we are all buddhas but as time past, we became deluded and came to be called "sentient beings." The goal of buddhism is to liberate all sentient being and achieve true realization!NAMO AMITABHA!

  • Buddhas meaning awaken one, the awakened one will never be deluded again. One that been liberate will not fall into the wheel of samsara once again unless wished to manifest into it to help sentient beings. We are incomplete buddhas. Therefore we are sentient beings. Until we came to the true realization and to liberate ourself, we are buddhas, or awakened one. Buddha nature is within everybody, in the end everybody will returns to it. Thank you for watching and for sharing :)

    Namo Amitabha

  • Sanskrit, Tibetan, or Chinese, it doesn't matter.

    Recite

    and most importantly, Be Good.

  • Very well said, I hope you like the video and thanks for watching

  • watch?v=wl2lqe3t_f4

  • that link has a hell of a horrible video on it.

    Namo Amitabha

  • yes...you do have an extremely good point there nhocazn! I did'nt mention it very clearly. lol. Anyways, have you ever study dzogchen? just curious...

    Namo Amitabha

Namo Guan Shr Yin Pu Sa

Namo Tai shi chi Pu sa

  • Sorry I have not study dzogchen, if you can, please do share your knowledge with us. :)

    Namo Amitabha

  • oh yes....dzogchen is a practice whereas one looks for the true nature of the mind. And realizes awareness which is rigpa.. dzogchen is a very fast path to enlightenment but hard to understand for some individuals....to sum it up, a dzogpachenpo's goal is buddhahood and achievement of the rainbow body...which means that the gross body transform into light.. dzogchen explains that everything one percieves is in the mind..without mind,..nothing exist...but awareness is essential as well...
