I'm an aspiring musician. I've been writing hip hop lyrics for a recent project and in my head the lyrics sound like my reference material, (mostly Outkast) but when I perform them, I have trouble bending my voice because I feel silly "putting on" an accent. What I'm left with is the typical aussie accent all hip hop musicians in Australia have and I really can't stand it.
@BloOdMoNkeY87 One thing you should know mate is that Americans love Aussie accents! Maybe you can use that to your advantage. Everything starts to sound the same after awhile, why not run with it?
Thank you so much for this. I'm doing an audition for University on friday & I'm kind of shy & very much a beginner. This has helped me a lot
