  • Very good dogs ...Very popular here in Donegal,Ireland ...Old people call them Borland terriers. No more mean than anyother dog just stronger.

  • Lovely video, very informative..Im not sure about your statement about our intelligence,I think maybe most animals are more intelligent that some of us lol...

  • Any breed of dog will attack if mistreated, not just Pitbulls.

  • Pitbulls & Pitbull/Staff X get the bad press cause off their owners. These morons thinks its cool to walk down the road with a Pitt just to boost their egos, These animals arent born wanting to attack people & kids, its the owners who mistreat and rear the dogs for their own selfish ways. I own a Pitt/Staff X, and its a pleasure to have him in my family, hes fantastic with my young kids and never growls, snaps or bites at anyone. A real family dog who wouldnt harm a fly. Greats dogs when Loved.

  • whats the difference between a pitbull a amstaff a staffordshire bull terrier an english bull terrier and an american bulldog......................................................size shape and paperwork

  • lol "perhaps lose this breed because of bad press, bad owners"???? are you kidding me. with all the insane backyard breeding going on, they could make owning a pitbull a felony and people would still make sure they bred like jackrabbits. ive personally known bad pitt owners who defended their stupid bullshit, not realizing they are the exact people causing the problem. you cant fix stupid.

  • hi murph no i dont believe their a killer breed as no breed is born to be a killer, but yes i do agree with you in the wrong hands can be dangerous, but the fact is all breeds can be dangerous in the wrong hands its just that the pit bull is the chosen 1 unfortunately by a majority of scum.

  • @Celticpits12 >all current breeds of dogs are bread down from a catural killer the wolf look at the scientific name for dogs(canis familiaris) and wolves(canis lupus) in this since you can bread a dog to be a killer through selective breeding you can increase aggressiveness and jaw strength as well as overall musculature making an animal that is genetically predisposed to be a lethal attacker but you can also train the dog through conditioning not to be aggressive towards humans.

  • @Celticpits12 & @TheMurph85

These dogs were bread to kill bulls but bread to not have ANY aggression towards humans.

It's the fucking SCUM that treat them like killing machines wich turns them!!

  • Hell yeah! Punish bad owners, not the dogs! Let's end breed discrimination in both America and Ireland!

  • good strong dogs, the wrong people are buying these dogs,,, fuck I would walk around with a pink poodle just to make a point ;) its humans that are the problem

  • hi stiio, if a person treats a dog fair, you have a loyal friend for all of its life. I have never abused any of my dogs and I reaped the benefits of that, believe me. I dont know of an other animal, and that includes humans, that is more faithful to one than the dog.

  • Hey Im Irish, living in Denmark. Ive had with dogs all my life. The dog is not the problem, its the owners. young men that make their dogs agressive is the real problem. Ive had dogs that people call agressive, but not one of my dogs have ever bit anyone. My present dog is a mixture of doberman, pit, labrador and rotweiler and she is very strong but a great dog. She is a good watchdog but a family dog all the same. So dont blsme the dog, blame the owner.

  • staffordshire terriers are one of the most loyal and freindly dogs iv ever had i have a male and a bitch and there alright around kids too.i dont know why there banned in council areas in dublin

  • Where did they come from? England, Ireland, or some place else?

Another common misconception is the breed is from England. I beg to differ. The breed was well established in Ireland as too.

J.P. Colby's line of dogs is reported to be heavy with Irish Pit Bull blood. He even paid for Irish men to come to America if they would bring a "good bulldog or two with them.".....once again ireland excels.

  • Beg all you want!!! It wont change anything!

  • unfortunatly, thats true. there will always be niggers and spics, and white trash abusing these animals, who want nothing more than to be your friend. scumbags!!!!!!!!

  • Just spoken to a chum who is a dog exoert, the Irish pitbull is also known as the irish staffordshire! Now I think the clue is in the name!!!

  • i think you havent a clue.

  • I havent a clue about what? The Irish making ignorant claims? Why would a Staffordshire Bull cros all of a sudden become Irish???

  • because theres irish staffordshire terriers

  • Wondeful, just wonderful!!!

  • Pitbulls Were Originaly Bred In IreLand For Travelers To Fight Them Then The Breed Came To American And Became A Loving Family Breed

  • Er wrong old son...they are Staffordshires! Perhaps I could invite you to research American Pitt Bulls! You will then ascertain my veracity and then you fuck fuck yourself, you spud faced mick!

  • What the fuck is an irish pitbull? FFS get real you turds!

  • no idea never heard of em ireland never had pits we bred staffys thats what was used for fighting here pitbulls are relativly new breed. I think he just means theyre pitbulls that people got and bred in ireland its not an actual breed :)

  • Ah, thank you!

  • It seems that your pathalogical hatred and envy of the irish gets the better of you once again ,old bean....slan.

  • Unlike the Irish, a pitbull is not a pure breed!

  • Hatred?? No merely pointing out fact!

  • TRUE

  • Everyone fails to mention that backyard breeders play a huge role!

  • whats the song?

  • i love this breed, however I am very disapointed to say that i am the only one in my whole family besideds my dads birth mom who is wiling to give thease dogs a chance. if anyone has anyideas on how to help me convince my parents to let me get a bullie and tochange thier minds please help me.

  • Have u kept any other dog with you before ??

  • great video!thanks for uploading it.well as someone of half irish decent(my dads irish)im proud to call my dog an irish pitbull and i won't have it any other way.after all in america they now recognise the american staff as a breed,so does that mean we should stop calling them english staffs,i think not!my dogs a loving, loyal companion who adores people and has never caused anyone any harm.there are no bad dogs despite there breed, only bad owners.

  • All of the videos by Celticpits are WONDERFUL.

Coming from another bully breed rescuer I can say I am impressed!

  • Ihave a lab but i believe that a the owner influences the dog dosent matter which breeda good owner equals a good dog

  • watchen this video, reading what is has to say and listening to that song makes me want to cry and hug my 2 dogs.

  • very nice video! good job! :)

    what is the band/song name?

  • It sounds like Clannad.. don't know which song and just cant be arsed lookin it up right now..:) Google for some lines of the lyrics and I'm sure you'll find it. :)

  • They would have to kill me to ever take my pitbull away. I will move if I have to but I think it is bull that because of some idiots who are irresponsible that this wonderful breed is now in jeapordy. The video truly touched me and reminded me what is at stake here.

  • Sorry I was using the staffy as a comparison, I haven'nt seen Irish American Pitbulls( so cant comment) but I imagined they would be slightly different to American Pitbulls, so thats all I meant. ;-}

  • Ok Celticpits12, fair enough, I do not want to detract from the real point, we love our Bull Breeds, thier strengh, beauty ,pride and absolute loyalty and I am worried that if they ban the pitbull what next? My English Bully Boy? tc. xx

  • hi bulliegirl, The origin of the American Pit Bull Terrier is not set in stone. Clear cut records of their development before modern history are not available and the exact origin of the breed is debatable.

  • so there for i know i cant change the name of the breed but i do have a right as an Irish person to put Irish in front of the name if i wish as you have said yourself America didn't have any terrier breeds until the Irish and English emigrated so there for i believe that at least we know were the main ingredient of the breed came from xx

  • i know love they where mixed with the English bull dog and English white terrier of that time, it is well known that they didnt have

Terriers in America, all I am saying and not meaning to be rude but you cant put Irish infront of the names of these dogs, same as I could,nt have an English Dog de Bordeax or English Irish Wolfhound. I have seen your staffys and they are different to the English, why dont they try to get it recognised as a different breed and call it an Irish Bull Terrier.

  • hi i dont have staffy's hun they are all pit bull terriers xxx

  • The old English "Bull and Terrier" is now what we call the English Bull Terrier and is completely different to a Pit.They where bred by James Hinks (from BIRMINGHAM) origionaly for fighting and are def not Irish. They may have been used in breeding to produce a Pit type dog by the Irish but that is a far as it goes, its a bit like the "Irish" STAFFORDSHIRE Bull Terrier which is of English origin too. Sorry but it is English Bull, American Pit and Staffordshire Bull not Irish.

  • the main ingredient of the breed came from Ireland and England have a look at the history and origin yes there were the old English white terrier there was no bull in that breed they were mixed with the bull breeds of that time and that's were the bull and terrier came into it, they were brought to America by Irish and English emigrants in 1700s to 1800s and with different breeding they came up with what we call American pit bull terrier today

  • so what have i missed ?? about the ban???is it really coming or just making a lot of noise ?? :/

  • Alot of noise...look at the first two letters of BSL......BS.....L........It's unconstitutional......

  • there is a breed of pitbull called the irish-american pitbull?? is that right?

  • Another common misconception is the breed is from England. I beg to differ. The breed was well established in Ireland as too.

J.P. Colby's line of dogs is reported to be heavy with Irish Pit Bull blood. He even paid for Irish men to come to America if they would bring a "good bulldog or two with them."

  • My Pitbull cross Little Nicky is my best friend.kind loving and loyal. his brothers were taken for fighting. ITS NOT THE DOG, ITS THE HANDELER.

  • well said thank you

  • im still petrafied of them

  • hi can you tell me why??

  • Arnt tehy called english pitbulls?

  • there's no such name as an English pitbull, you must be getting mixed up with the English bull terrier witch is a different breed altogether,,

  • well i thought those type of dogs were descendants of the english dogs, there is a breed of english itbull tho that i'm sure of.

English bull terriers are ugly dogs..

  • yes there were the old english white terrier there was no bull in that breed they were mixed with the bull breeds of that time and that's were the bull and terrier came into it, they were brought to America by Irish and English emigrants in 1700s to 1800s and with different breeding they came up with what we call American pit bull terrier today

  • log on to my web site the link is on my page it will tell you what ever you need to know thankyou

  • good video. It does irritate me to see any kind of cruelty to animals and the thought of a dog being bred to fight and die, often in unbelievable pain, is horrific. Its ok to demonise the breed, but we should tackle the root cause of the problem....those scum who treat breeds such as the pitbull in such a destestable and cruel way.

  • well said, its a pity theirs not enough people like you around thanks for the comment!!

  • great vid

  • My heart goes out to those in Ireland affected by this lunacy. I've signed and have forwarded your link to all my friends, and I know they also signed the petition. Sadly there are staffy owners in the UK now vilifying Irish staffs as an inferior breed (their ignorance is our misfortune), my girly's bloodlines go back to the Blue Paul and the Duke of Hamiltons dogs. Still I wouldnt presume to call their dogs mutants. When the death squads come for all our dogs, hairsplitting will be irrelevant.

  • thank you

  • Wonderful video,I have a red dog down from wallace bloodlines and she is my heart, been my inspiration through two bouts with breast cancer! The steadiest most loving dog that ever drew breath, and a credit to the whole canine race.

  • thats a beautiful thing to say, she is just as lucky to have you as you are to have her. i wish you both the best of luck xxxx

  • Great video, I wish I could do something for these wonderful, brave , strong animals. They have been taken advantage of by beasts. Those people that fight them should simply be thrown in jail for life.

    Michelle
