I am so glad to have been there, and the weather was ideal for those two crossings. I was QM2 westbound, and QE2 eastbound, and wish I could hit the rewind button to live it all again as bittersweet as it was.
Stunning and amazing video!!! I traveled only once on this grand lady when she sailed on one of her many 'Cruises to Nowhere' up around new England and back to NYC a few years ago... actually met her one Master, Captain Robin Woodall back then, was granted special permission to come aboard the bridge to take a few photographs! I presented to him a pastel painting I had done of his remarkable vessel! What a memorable voyage that was!!!
Absolutely brilliant video, thanks for sharing, a very, very nostalgic footage, loved the hron blowing. Could almost be passed off for blowing in harmony.
Thank-you so much for uploading this beautiful footage of this magnificent ship. I may never have the chance to sail on any of Cunard's ships...yet because of your video, I feel you've given me the next best thing to actually being aboard. What a wonderful gift! Many, many thanks once again.
thanks for that.. brings back the most amazing memories!! i was right under qe2's bridge about 3/4 of the way across the ships width(i swear i see me holding my camera above everyone, lol, prob not tho)when everyone on qm2 cheered we all just about cried, some did.... thanks again amazing vid... :)
Wonderful! Really relaxing and I almost felt I was there. I went on the QE2 last July for the first, and final, time and got bitten by the bug. I'm doing Queen Victoria this May and hopefully QM2 in 2010. Thanks for posting.
Really nice shots but in my opinion changed a bit too quickly when there was a chance to see her in her real element - rising seas. Instead too much horn blowing. At 01.39 a tanker going the other way has the seas against her. If the QE had been going the other way she would really have had to sail. It's amazing the way even really large vessels surf on the waves when the wind is astern. Bit like my sailing boat. But nice anyway.
a great vid. FAREWELL OLD GIRL.

We were on board last July for the 3 night to Rotterdam etc. We tried to get as much in as possible and managed another 2 cruises on her!

Regrettably I only had 10 minutes to get as much in as possible!

Fantastic footage! I hope they keep a bit of the QE2 alive on the next Cunard ship by using the same whistle. As motaz1975 says "long live the QE2"

Just wonderful - both the video and the ship herself. So, so sad to see her go.

Shame ships these days don't have elegant lines, and beauty, like the QE2. Great Job!
