wow, my hometown too! i always loved the septemberfest fireworks since they didnt do any for the 4th of July there (which since moving I've noticed is really weird cuz everywhere does them for the 4th)... shocked to hear it has been cancelled though... maybe some day they'll revive it

Thanks for posting a piece of our hometown parade. The parade has been canceled this year which happens to fall on Sept. 11, 2010. Budget cuts? They say.

It's not gonna feel the same this year without the parade. Bummer!

I still have a hard time accepting what has happened to our high school band over the years. Throughout most of the 70's & 80's we were considered one of the best bands along the East Coast with 110-120 musicians and another 100 in the band front. I remember going to the precursor of the annual SeptemberFest which was the Bicentennial Parade in '76. 20,000 used to attend the SeptemberFest in those days. Riverview Beach Park was a huge attraction during its heyday,

It's Pennsville New Jersey, My Hometown. Septemberfest is the most excitement our little town sees every year. What you saw was just the beginning. After the morning parade theirs alot of rides and musical entertainment in the park. And the night ends at about 10 PM with one of the greatest firework displays in New Jersey. You should have stayed all day. You would have had a great time. Come back anytime, cause we actually DO take kindly to visitors, lol :]
