What homophobic sufferers are experiencing, with their blatant intolerance and often aggressive behavior, is their own sexual/personal insecurities being projected onto those whom they are fearful of becoming. Religion (convoluted and distorted as it is) offers them the poor excuse and tawdry justification for their intolerance. Confidence in sexuality AND religion appears to be in the minority.
