Sorry to hear that Rugersix. But you did get to see them fly. something that hasn't been seen since WWII. Didn't the Spanish fly the ME Bf 109s after the war?
On the fuselage of the aircraft U-2 wrote: "Reveng for Dusya!". Dusya is a feminine name. These U-2 piloted by young girls. They bombed nazis during the nights, and very successfully. They became a legend.
That was a kool video, they have a great accumulation. P51 & B25s are everywhere, That D dora and the short nose FW190 ME Bf109 a Spit and a Hurricane P47D P40C Hayabussa oscar Avro lancasterare rare birds. Thye Russian Gee Bee Racer hellcat a storch JN4 Jenny and buzz bombs ME163 Kommet. You don't see them everyday
@TheXR750 It is indeed a very impressive collection to say the least! As a matter of fact I'm heading over there today for the free-fly..."Luftwaffe Day" They will fly the 109 and the 190 today for an hour! I hope to get some good footage for a future vid! Thanks Joe!
That's awesome Rugersix, I would love to those Birds fly. I'm going to have to check it out. It's Incredible that they are all flyable. How often do you see that. Most of time the motor's have been pickled.
@TheXR750 It was great to see but as far as pics and video forget it nothing but frongs of people so all you get is a bunch of heads in your clips! I'm most sure my clips are a bust! Oh well at least I know now unless you have VIP status or are a volunteer you don't get the choice shots you have to fight the mob for them! Not really worth it to me!
Thank you so much my friend for another great video of some great war birds that B 25 is so cool, that P 51 is in great shape too. A lot of history in that place great job keep up the great work, take care. P.S. How was the shopping afterwards? :)
@henrycems Alfred glad you enjoyed this video! You are so right when you say there is a lot of history in this hanger! The planes are amazing and they are all flyable!!! I hope to get some flying clips in the future! I was real pleased to that Hawker Hurricane I've never seen one before! Yeah Katie tagged me for a new rain coat at the Columbia outlet store! LOL =) She was a good sport!
Not only does the owner of these planes deserve all the thanks we could possibly give, for the preservation, but you deserve many thanks for bringing them to us! I am soooo jealous that you get to see them, in person. Thanks Harry!!!
@TheDiamondback73 Thanks for watching this! I'm tell'n ya I have to go back when I can spend a bit more time! I was hurried a bit having the daughter along as it wasn't her cup o tea! She was rewarded later at the outlet stores! LOL =) These are not just preserved for museum show pieces....THESE FLY!!! I'm hoping to get up there on a free fly day to get some footage in the future!
@MrColoradowilderness Thank You! My dad was a pilot and really enjoyed the flying club on Adak, AK he got some hours on the T-34 Mentor! They get in your blood I'm just an enthusiast but really enjoy aviation!
Quite amazing enginering. Like bolting a huge moter on a soda can. Speed ruled the skys. Just so many designs in that era. Thanks for taking us with you....
The Collings Foundation of Stow, MA tours the country with a B 25 and several other great WWII bombers. I got a chance to fly in the B 25 and will never forget it. J R
@jrossi9250 JR I remember back in the late 80's when they made their first tour with the B-24J and volunteered with them for several years when they would come for a tour in our area. I got a one way flight on the 24 back then the deal was I had to figure out how to get home! A minor detail considering the opportunity! Thanks for watching!
I went here for a school thing! we got a tour of all the planes.
