  • I like Salif Keita's music, but i don't like Sekou Toure the killer of Diallo Telly

  • a moi seuleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • I had the pleasure of meeting Salif Keita, at BB Kings Night Club in New York. He is a great performer.

  • Salif Keita was born on a day that represents in the Mayan-Calendar "2-BAATZ"

which meens, he is the bridgebuilder and the keeper of Art and Cultur to the People.

He is able to bring consciousness and awareness and so he is doing a most important job. Thank you Salif Keita for your music. Love and Peace, Greatings from Germany.

  • the music lord of africa has the talent to make ur sole to melt to this music byovercoming the language obtacles

  • man u r 100 % right.

  • Salif Keita`s father dis owned him at birth

saying it was a curse to have an albino child. Many Africans do this because it is very taboo yo.

  • I saw him perform at the sierra nevada world music festival back in 1997. I must say it was one of the best shows I ever seen he put the whole audience in complete trance and I love every minute of it.

  • I was blessed to see him perform in Santa Cruz

many years ago. Guinean guitar genius Ousmane Kouyate

was with him that night. I'll never forget it. See him if you can!

  • Are you out of your mind? This is pure African music...not fela's crap. Ofcourse, fela was great but you cannot compare fela to Saleif Keita. I bet fela's music didn't touch any souol. This Salif Keita's music saves lives and that's what matters....not fela's ganja crap.....having sex on stage. I guess you were high-of-crack when you were writing this comments.

  • I just didn't like this song, but my god after awhile I think this guy is great! I was just really tired and wanted to listen to Fela. I think that Fela an Salif are both great. Sorry about that comment.=)

  • If more people heard Fela's words & acted on them, it would save entire cultures, countries and that's beyond Africa too. Every music has its purpose.

  • was fela really doing all that? i never saw him do that. but you know, he was going crazy...

  • Salif estamos orgulloso de ti!

  • Mandjou..Salif salif salif

  • :o no sabia que bob marly fuera blanco pero igual canta bonito, las negras cantas feito xD

  • No es Bob Marly es Salif Keita y es albino...

  • the best music afric nerve see befor i love salif keyta is the best in the world

  • I've spent a lot of time in Mali working on developing agriculture there.

    Malians are great people.

I love the bass player's look. Really takes me back to mali.

  • Malian and African music have taken hold of my heart as have the Malian people. Salif is one of my favorite. Although I have visited Mali twice, I have never had the opportunity to attend his performances. My loss. I ni baraje Salif! A be donkilidelala. Ala tando!

  • Great song, I love it..I love how this man sings...Salif Keita..aahhh!

  • This song makes me cry, RIP Sekou Toure!!!!!!!!

  • tres fort salif!!!

  • I just want to say thank you for that clever comment made by KAMERUNITE. Well said, Their is great music all over, expand your music library by listen to more than what you hear or see from the media.

  • just keep going salif.....

  • chingon salif

  • Fantastic. Thanks for the video.

  • Princes and Princesses of Africa, this song wakes you up or boots your morale in any situations. Listen to this on your way to work every day.

  • what is he saying? what language is it Bambara? What are the lyrics?

  • his talking about the lower class people not to despair and wip not tears. saying'' those with children show off god will give you children, thos ewith weath show off god will give you weath also , those with parents show off god will give you parents so dont cry''. the song is to encourage people not to cry and be sad when you lose something or someone whose important to you. its wonderful i love listening to the song coz it says' god makes this all happen for god as power of all''. peace

  • Thanks for that translation

  • momento brillianto this was!

  • hi perhect (turkey)

  • No place like AFRICA am proud to be the son of the continent proud of the language MADINGO HAHA WEST COAST

  • The only benefit of African music being undervalued is that you can see absolutely fantastic concerts for a great price in a small cafe-like setting. I'm European, and have seen many great artists: Salif Keita, Youssou N'Dour, Babaa Maal, Cheb Mami, Cheb Kaled, Angelique Kidjo, Habib Koite, Papa Wemba, Kanda Bongo Man, Olivier Mtukudzi, etc, etc.

  • American is what it is because American has the means to promote and sell their Music, just as their way of life. Everything American is fashionable bacause america owns all the major highways of communication. What does Africa have? Everyone know Beyonce, but no one knows Johnny Haliday for the simple reason that France cannot sell Johnny to the world. the minute Africans can sell their music to CNN/MSNBC/MTV, you will get more respect for African Music.

  • this is why it is important for more afro american music stars to openly promote african music...do dual concerts etc.

  • magnifiqueeee

  • magnifique ma préférée

  • Pure talent!!

Livin in the US will never make forget my roots.

I got bunch of Salif Keita's music.

Imagine yourself home after a stressful day of work or just a off day, chillin with a impressive music like that.

You just travel and see yourself wandering on a peaceful land....

    I love it!!!!

  • Kba 148:

Yes this is music... Its too bad the young dont know what brilliant artist is... I love Salif.but I would love to find: Nder & Le Setsima Group.Super S.T Thoif. The song is called: Super Thiof.I tried looking everywhere for that song...If anyone knows where I can find it that would be great.. please post on this site! thanks.

  • Indeed, Africans are undervalued. This is class and you don't see and hear these brilliant artists on popular world music programmes. All you see is Rihana, 50-Cent, Kanye West. Man, this is music! I'm proud to be an African; let the world call us poor.

  • Kba 148:
