Holy God, I have just gone back almost twenty years.

The Church played at my university many years ago. I'm not sure what happened but my girlfriend and I left early in absolute, where are the car keys, lust.

I'd give my left nut to feel that way again.

Saw them perform in SF Friday night for their "Future Past Perfect" tour...they played for over 3 hours, and it was one of the greatest shows I've ever seen. The music and vocals were as if they had never aged...you MUST see them if they play anywhere near your locale!!!!

I've always had a soft spot for this video. My brother taught me the basics of how to play the guitar. Although I'd played clarinet for 10+ years, I'd never once tried to improvise (it just never occurred to me). It was different with the guitar, though. This and Ripple were my two favorites to try to play along. I remember one night, I turned out the lights and played in pitch black. Hard to explain...but if there was ever playing by feel, that was it, I couldn't see a thing!!

This must be one of their most fantastic opening tunes ever. The chanting like soundscapes of bass and guitar and percussion is performed with astonishing economy. I have to say I am more a fan of the early stuff from the church. Followed them since 82 -83 or there about....but this one is truly amazing. Nice photo add my friend. captures the song beautifully.

as a U2 fan myself,i have to be honest and admit that U2 aren't fit to lick the boots of THE CHURCH.....no band is anywhere near as good....more and more reviewers are saying that they are the greatest band of all time....consistently brilliant albums for almost 30 years....so many amazing bands,but THE CHURCH are way ahead in a league of their own :-)

I always like how they toyed with synthesizers now and then throughout the years. Always for atmospherics as any good pop craftsman knows, not to replace horns and such in the 80s sense of the word, if that makes any sense.
