  • Oh they used this technology in Avatar. I don't know if they just gave up on it or mixed it with motion capture (cuz I'm sure motion capture was used too)

  • Emily is sexy!

  • The real trick is taking that capture and putting it on a completely different model. THAT is the point of all this. I mean, filming all that of emily, just to generate the exact same thing in CGI, is rather pointless.

  • @CraziFuzzy

Well this was mostly just a test, to see if they had truly eliminated the uncanny valley from movie and video gam animation.

  • Yea this is good, but there is always something too smooth about a computer generated face

  • wow this is amazing

  • The only thing is that when she talks in the actual video, her mouth moves EVERYWHERE. Especially when she smiles.

  • What's so creepy about this?

  • i dont get it

  • creepy....

  • its the eyes.....

  • Almost there. In a few years we wont be able to differentiate a human from animation

  • 1:04-1:08...........Agghhhh! It's the Mysterious Stranger!

  • 1:46 is scary

  • This is what next gen consoles will be about

  • the face was off by a little.

  • That's funny, she plays Janna in The Young and the Restless!

  • we need this in videogames XD

  • @wario22 it will be there, but it's expensive for video games at this time

  • Emily is hot! =)

  • this is amazing

  • I appreciate how much progamming and technical engineering and have to admit i was totally convinced that this was film footage of Emily's face, so image quaility is awesome. To translate facial movements into a software programme will be an amazing asset for the games industry and save many hours of wearing reflective balls and motion capture time

  • I wonder who will discover the program that crosses the "Uncanny Valley" first ?

  • So really this is not photo realistic computer graphics in the strictest sense. It's like watching pre rendered footage in video game trailers and such like. What i would like to see is real time footage like in Avatar the movie (although the movie footage was pre rendered) including hair animation, body animation from a wide variety of angles which i think we are still a few years away from doing.

  • Oh i see what has been done. The have placed the animated face over Emily's normal face and blended the animated face in with the rest of her head, so the hair is not animated nor is her clothes and body. So essentially what we are seeing is a mixture of computer animated graphics and film footage which changes the whole ball game.

  • lawl oh common

  • amazing

  • Damn! Should be a long keyframe job for the facial animations over a long sequence...:S

  • nop, its motion capture done with only 1 camara

  • @chotolarg Uhhh of course it's keyframe animation... EVEN IF IT WAS motion capture with one camera you would go back to keyframe animation to teak the final product

  • Oh yeah, I always use keyframe animation. Programs where you can't teak the final product drive me crazy!
