I think all of us who know this song from all those years ago say the same thing...what a great fukkin song, and it brings back so many memories...ah those younger years!!
Someone asked - yes, the "momentary lapse..." line is Jack Nicholson in The Shining. The screaming is more than likely Shelly Duvall from the same film.
Chiling song. Jools doing his Gershwin impression brings something really dark t this song and I think it's Kieth Wilkinson providing a dark bass sound. That with the lyrics makes this ne of the darkest songs I ever remember (and saw - Hammersmith, mid 80's :)
The music video isn't on youtube, that sucks. It was such a good one too, Glenn had really long hair and was wearing a long coat, he is also holding an all black fender stratocaster in the music video too.
Chris Difford (the dark haired guy on the left) is gorgeous in this photo and still is today. Complete proof that some men simply get better as they grow older.
Brilliant song from the best album Squeeze ever produced, the nattyily titled, Cosi Fan Tutti Fruiti.I saw them on the tour to promote this album and the tour was called Cosi Fan Tutti Fruiti on Routi.pretty clever i thought.
There is an actual video....but i cannot find it.:( It was all white, with pianos and lots of blood. Saw it on MTV when I was like 13....loved that song!!!!!!!
Great song. It's good to hear it when I'm not going through some nasty breakup or broken hearted bullshit. I can actually smile and enjoy it...whoo hoo =)
saw the in concert in the early 80s they were great live

Can you imagine: 1985, me in my local pub. The barman playing this great song I heard for the first time then. He played it over and over.
Next time I came there I was told the guy hanged himself that very night.
Gives a different meaning to "I'll say goodnight tonight, the last time forever".
The song still gives me goosepocks allover, after all these years.

This was my far my fav on `cosi fan tutti frutti' especially with the legendary Jools Holland giving it it's pianistic climax. What a classic song!

the angst ridden emotion in the composition of this song is almost palpable...they certainly don't make 'em like they used to!
